I have a S200 and LOVE IT! it's small and I keep it in my bookbag all the time. I live in Tampa and sometimes leave my book bag in the car. (heat) so far it works like a dream.
My dad works for DTRA (Defence threat reduction agency) and they go inspect site in Russia and other sovet block contries. He cannot use a digital camera becouse the treaty writen back in 80's or so said that you can only use 35 mm film.
Back in WWII, the Germans had an outpost in Norwey (sp?). They sent a message everyday saying "Nothing to report" Of course this was scrambled, but one day they started sending longer messages. Allies knew something was up.
When my friend and I lived in Germany, he bought a generic 19". It worked fine until he misspelt NVIDIA in the X config file. blew the monitor.
So we went back to the store to get a new one. He only had that monitor for a few days. The store said "contact the maker" and showed us to the door. (This is not uncommon in Germany)
He was pissed. So we saw Wal Mart across the street (Wal Mart bought out the German store Werthauf back in '98 or '99) We walked in and said that we bought the monitor here. The guy wanted to see a reciet, but we had none. So then he tells us that he cannot give us our money back, but will do an exchange.
Walked out with a new monitor. BTW, that old monitor in still on the storage shelf at walmart, a year later.
I setup a server at my parents house. It's a simple SMB/web server. When I lived at home I just mapped to it.
Now most of my files are still on the server, I just ssh into and copy them to the webserver.
It works for a few files.
For the bookmarks, I exported my IE bookmarks to a HTML page and posted that on my server. It helps when you own a domain for this.
I guess a future project would be to script everything so my ibook at home would zip and ftp the file onto my server.
Then the server would extract and merge the files on the server and zip them up and host them on the web site.
That way when I see a new computer I can d/l the zip and be ready to go.
I'm also looking into WebDAV calader. It would be nice to have a central calander.
Here is some last minute advice if your going to setup a server. Don't put X. Don't put any fancy crap. I made a rule when I installed my server that only "mission critical" stuff was to be on it, not the latest kernel nor SMB. It works and has an uptime of 396 days!
Also if your company gets the "Preimer MS" certification they give you a massive CD collection of software, everything ecspet games. In the licence agremnt you can install some of the software for home use (5 copies of XP I think)
Watch out what else the company hosts. We bought into candidhosting and some domains block our IP range becouse cadid hosts 95% porn.
Just something to think about when you get your IP. See if they will tell you the class the IP is in and check to see if it's on a black list.
I was (still am) going to buy the itrip from griffentechnology.com
It's a radio transmitter. But now that the fireware port is on the bottom, how many accsessories will that screw up?

Man I was just thinking about "Fight Club" and the soap....
I had a friend who beta tested an early beta and AD did not work with 2k AD.
Does anyone know the story?

You don't think the DOD uses Windows for class system?
Wow. Let me just tell you one thing, The sys admin I know that work for the DOD only know MS.
BYW, on NIPERNET (the normal unclass internet) winodws 2000 active directory is prohibited. All the servers are NT with exchange 5.5
Red Hat.
I worked with a system simiar to this.
They also have other ones for windows that use Red Hat's CYGIN (sp?)

Have you ever wondered if the crypto realy doen't have a back door?

Of those people, how many understand crypto??
I know that Motorola just released an addon to a off-the-slef phone that adds comsec.
s /g eneral_dynamics_sectera_secure.htm
From what I understand, phones with this devices are aproved by NSA for secret transmittions.
Doing a google seach I came up with this:

Half the time that doen't work. I get a good lookup about once a week. And I do nothing special other than web and email.
When I worked for the Army, one of the Generals had a public class C in his house. Two decives, his computer and his router.
No shit. My 800mhz (640RAM) ibook was skipping frames.
Funny you guys say Wal Mart.

It takes 2 minutes to cool a meal.
It takes 15 minutes to connect via GPRS, type in the website, and navagte the menus. By that time you'll be home.

(a) The US goverment must give priority to open-source software.
He is still getting a $1 million dollars a year salary from them.
What ticks me off the the secret nature of the contract selection. They didn't go thru the GSA or anyother formal process.
