    I've had heuristics tell me "i don't know what this is, i'm showing it to Microsoft is that okay?" but the only "false" positives have only been things named keygen.exe and once renamed, it found nothing wrong with (most) of them ;)

    I've been under the impression instant cameras *ARE* still commercial available (notably the one that makes headshot stickers that had a period of popularity in the early 2000's)

    As other posts have pointed out, the Wiimote uses a different method with the same technology (Horizontal clusters placed at top or bottom of the screen, as opposed to a top and side cluster), and the patent covers the method not the technology (which i believe predates both)

    I would think an audit SHOULD be standard procedure of any BSA filings, especially if it's brought up in criminal court. At the very least, they should hire an external auditor for the investigation that they can use as evidence, or so they can try and settle out of court in the even there was illegal software without their knowledge.

    Sadly, it's being phased out becuased Windows XP Embedded can do the same things, is as secure, and can dso fancier greaphics.

    MySpace has entirely changed its focus from the individual to the collective though. It's still one of the better ways for local business or underfunded (and some very well off) bands to get themselves out there without needing to spend the money on web design, hosting, and storage/transfer. Yes, there are still individual profiles, but largely the only ones updating are bands and businesses.

    I actually disagree with this part of your statement, since a lot of kitsch is culturally relevant, and brings a sense of both entertainment from users and can attract legitimate intrigue . However, it's clear these projects were not named to be kitsch especially if the lead developer on one does not understand English, and were either oversights on the project founder's part or somebody trying to be offensive.

    It's basically a trial account with double the level cap and unlimited play time. The only reason they first implemented those limits to the trial accounts to begin with was because of the spambots and the gold farmers using trial accounts

    Only reason i think to ever use an e-mail client is on a corporate or university network where you have an exchange or other local mail/calendar server.

    But the difference is in that Chrome has always increased by major version numbers, while firefox randomly changed their development cycle. In addition, Chrome usually installs in user space and can update itself, which is why i have it installed on the thin-client desktop for my user at the university i attend

    Chrome has a development cycle that expects major number changes, can be deployed or stopped from updating using the same deployment tools as Microsoft programs (MSI installer option) and generally will manage its own updates silently

    It's exactly that attitude that keeps firefox from being accepted in the Enterprise to begin with, and as several active IT admins have commented already on the last firefox story, many of them are deploying Chrome because of firefox's new release schedule.

    It's because they want to do what Chrome does, as only release on major version numbers. It's not going to work, though, and the public reaction to the first upgrade shows it
