Parent post is spot on. I've been seeing a psychologist who specialises in sexuality and that is pretty much what has been said, among many other things, like the importance of being socially active, and that masturbation is a really good thing if there is no alternative. It's quite tragic that some people feel bad about masturbation, and beat themselves up over it.
I may be a while out of school now, but I think school would be more interesting if it had more emphasis on creating things other than essays and repetitive math problem solutions. It would be nice to have some time set aside to be able to "scratch your own itch" (this does not mean slacking off), as a students home life could make this very improbable. I don't mean everything was boring (Chemistry was a very fun and interesting subject, with the practical sessions being very common), just that it should be more practical than it was (and probably still is).
The trouble is that many powerful factions within the US want the masses to be stupid, because stupid people are easier to control, and as such teach kids that the most cool things they can possibly do are (a) smash their heads into other children over an oblate spheroid, (b) go to some faraway land and kill people, (c) ingest mind-numbing chemical substances, (d) have lots of totally meaningless sex, and (e) for a select few, compete with their peers to please authority figures.
OK, I don't see what is so wrong about that one. Unlike the other things listed, sex is the one that is most definitely good for you*, and should not be discouraged, at least if you would like people to be more healthy and happy. Having sex or masturbating shows that you are alive.
Using sex to sell something unrelated is an entirely different thing, though.
*As long as people are taught how to have responsible sex. Rather than doing risky and stupid things.
He is insinuating that you wrote this comment on an android device with malware on it, and that iOS devices don't have a problem with malware since they are far more locked down.
that's the exciting new trend spreading across the major open source projects, disruptive but half-baked changes. Ubuntu with Unity, GNOME, KDE, Firefox. What other major project will have its developers flip the users the bird and fly off into the Land of Un-Usability? stay tuned, there really are a couple more in the pipe.....
My Firefox has 37 tabs open, and a lot of extensions loaded(which will be disabled next time I start Firefox). It has 477 MB allocated to it. This does not seem excessive. I've had no problems with Firefox, except one or two sites with bad JavaScript, this wasn't much of a problem. It used to be a much bigger problem before 3.?, but still very rare in my experience.
I wish to subscribe to your newsletter NOW. I have not seen a copyright scheme as interesting as this one. A couple of questions though:
Do you think this would create an imbalance between entities with a lot of money compared to entites with little? Is the work-for-hire scheme an attempt to alleviate this? Is there any more specific details on the work-for-hire part (because I am not sure how it would be implemented)?
In a tragedy of the commons situation it is not in the best interest of anyone to rebel. The problem will not go away unless the law is changed, i.e. changing the game.
Every other nation should be shunned until they raise their standards to the level of the civilized nations.
A bit extreme. Standards could be applied on a per manufacturer basis rather than the whole country. Make it mandatory that manufacturers are audited by an approved authority before they are allowed to import goods into your country. It's beneficial to both nations that way.
Oh, really? Then maybe you would like to say what it is. The absolute morality standard for all humankind. If you can't come up with it, completely and accurately, then maybe you don't understand morality yourself. Come on, I'm waiting.
I may be naive, but couldn't you dispute the charges paid to paypal with your credit card company, file a police report, and anything else you can think of that paypal is not in control of?
Makes sense. I can be an idiot a lot of the time. My grandparent post should be modded down and yours should be modded up. I avoided slashdot three days just because of that post.
And I don't see why I would want to send my personal medical information to Google. An application that never uploads the information would be much better.

Ah, I see what you mean now, thanks for clarifying that.

Only in pieces...
A German Injunction does not require any evidence... The case simply has to be made "believable"!
And it goes for the entire EU. Wow... just wow.

Well, I would have to ask, why?
For you there is User Agent Switcher.

Yes, not sure if that was deliberate or not. But still, lol. Actually looking at the grandparent post and great-grandparent post, I guess it was.

We were discussing you, not me.

Because I've never heard of it. And a social network owned by Apple sounds like a special, shiny, hell.

So by settling with the Winklevoss Twins he has made them more powerful than he could possibly imagine?

Same here. No wonder it isn't having much impact.
Oh dear god, run for your life!
(jk, somewhat)
Maybe because it is because most people like to reproduce rather than show altruism as great as adopting a child. You know, human nature.
Admirable. But it would have more effect if your electoral system wasn't broken.
