+1. Bono is a tax dodging muppet that doesn't deserve the word "Irish" anywhere near his name. His opinion isn't worth jack, and I and many Irish men and women would be only too delighted for him to feck off to The Netherlands and never return.
There's no doubt that part of my reluctance to use Firefox, even if it's just a small part, is Firefox evangelists. I use Avant Browser atm and that has all the extensions I need, and I can handle my own comp-sec, but tbh I switch to Firefox occasionally for bits and bobs and there's really very little difference.
However the evangelists get on my wick, not least because most of them are just parroting propoganda, some of it quite likely made up on the spot by other evangelists. Ten gets you twenty 90% of them couldn't back up their "more secure" claims with actually technical details, for example.
They're just a complete pain in the hole. I hate them.
Sure, but at £25+vat for a 40gig drive, its not something you'll miss. Heck, its two days beer money!
I humbly submit that any poster with an Irish surname that suggests that £25+vat is "two days beer money" should immediately forfeit said surname to the Irish Government for reprocessing. Any Irishman worth his salt knows that £25+vat is an hours beer money.
It's actually a very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very dark blue; and if any Slashdot mods actually get that I'll be very, very, very surprised.
And that excludes them from due process? I don't know you're not a murderer, should I call the cops and get them to intern you without access to a lawyer for three years?
"I have little doubt that many of them are just what they are accused to be."
And you came to that conclusion how exactly? Did you get a message from beyond the grave while you were watching John Edward? (Any tips on the Jackson trial?)
"the conditions that they are living in are far from the brutal situation that American troops would be if they were captured by the other side."
Absolutely, and of course that makes it totally ok for guys to be tortured in Gitmo. Hell, they're beheading your guys, why don't you behead a few of theirs!
"I feel completely comforatble taking the moral high ground on this issue."
I'd love to hear your version of the "moral high ground" after you'd been detained and tortured without access to due process for three years.
Alleged terrorists. They're innocent until proven guilty, they have a right to a lawyer, they have a...
...ah, I see where I went wrong there. I forgot to subscribe to your wonderful, down-home, american-as-apple-pie, if-you're-not-with-us-you're-a-terrist mentality.
FFS, the BSD daemon is a great opener. Client asks what it is, you tell them that it's the logo for the secure, stable operating system you run your office on. Client is impressed, you make big sale. If the client is offended, you turf them out because they're white trash morons that can't afford to buy anything bigger than a double-wide anyway.
(I might add: why the hell are you booting FreeBSD anyway? If you can't afford the electricity to keep it running, you can't be much of an estate agent.)
You'd wonder how long something like TypeKey will remain free though. Like Invision Power Board (and of course RealPlayer), they suffer from chronic We're-Not-Commercialising-But-We-Really-Are-And-We -Hope-You-Don't-Notice syndrome. Watching their site over the years has been like comical stop-motion-commercialism.
There's nothing wrong with commercialism like, but seriously, piss or get off the pot.
Dear Feds. If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear. Right?

Uh-oh, server push. Fire In The Hole!

Wouldn't that information be available under the freedom of information act? I bet you could get the list that way...
In America? I'm surprised you guys are still allowed to see how Congress votes.
"Yeah, we won. Honest. Nothing to see here."
It don't make you any better, it just makes you look like an intollerent moron.
Intolerant mormon. HTH!

"American beer sucks period."
Ewww.
It's not designed to counter fake signatures, it's designed to transfer responsibility for fraud from the card issuer to the card owner.

More like Economy = Religion = Politics at the moment.
Classic Slashdot moderation there, well done!

"I think it's incredibly jingoistic and racist of you to apply American ideals to a foreign citizen."
"a better question is do the people you're trying so hard to jump into bed with believe it. They don't"
I'm not the one drawing conclusions about people based on their race or nationality.
You don't view access to due process as a human right? Aren't you sweet!
They are terrorists.

I'll get me coat.
Did you mean Ka-shing? (Follow the link for irony overload.)
Absolutely. Which is why you get a freephone number, rather than attempt justify illogical cost transference to a recipient of a service.
Heh, from the Day 2 Fund Drive report:
"What can I say? I owe half of what I know to the Wikipedia! Keep up the good work." by Jonathan Grose
So a full quarter of what Jonathan knows is misinformed, inaccurate, or 1337 speek!
(Nah, really I love Wikipedia. But Jonathan was asking for it.)

How about Minuets I and II in D minor from the French Suite #1?
You're probably thinking of Kate. And "article".
What, you couldn't find any illegal immigrants?
Speaking loudly and clearly does not a Charleton Heston make.
Yeah! You have to be able to scream "YEE-HAW" and squeal like a pig too.
