Namco? No... perhaps they could make a better game than him alone, but I doubt anyone working there knows more than him.

Capcom? No... they may make a better 2D fighting game, but I would like to see them try and make a FPS like Quake.

Konami? Maybe. But not one person there im sure knows more than him.

Remember, when you see an average game and you see an id game, look at the credits. An average games credits are minutes long watching. id's fits on ONE SCREEN.

And I'm not against Linux or any other alternate OS. Its just that alot of people just like it because its Linux and bitch and moan that nothing gets ported to it, yet do nothing to contribute to solving the problem. Even worse are the ones that are TOTALLY anti-MS, which is a load of crap right there. Sure some of the stuff Microsoft says and does is stupid (laughable sometimes :P ), yet they make a working OS that is easilly accessible by anyone and highly supported. Don't agree? Well then just think what would happen if every copy of Windows just dissapeared and everyone was forced to switch to Linux, no matter what their computer experience is.

And believe it or not, the operating system IS something that you want a monopoly with. Without it developers wouldn't know what OS to port their software to, leaving tons of people being shafted because they dont have the correct OS. Just look at the PC/Mac situation right now.

If you fail to see that Microsoft isn't the damn devil and acctually produces worthwhile products (win2k) then you deserve to be playing Diablo 2 on a shitty laptop. If at all.

True, Outlook can't search like that. But thats it's fault, not the 2D OS that it uses.

Alot of these things acctually seem like things that are dumbing down the user. Your going to be showing people that lag is represented by how far away a webpage is, and then when someone mentions ping their going to have no idea what their talking about.

3D operating systems are neat, but I really don't see them becoming the norm. However don't give up (like you would anyway :P), you can always prove me wrong.

Thats it. And about instantaneous travel between things, what is the point of making a 3D world when you just instantaneously travel through it? If it's going to be instantaneous, then there is no point in making it, because it offers nothing over what is avalible now. And making you walk through the 3D world is cumbersome because it takes to long to do simple tasks.

Most of the things you pointed out are just eye candy things that could easily be done now with GUI hacks. That sky stuff is really neat, but the same can be done with a few bar graphs.

Interesting, but wrong. So is the other observation.

Ok we will start with 2 bandwidth and 2 processing power. Measurements dont matter, its the numbers.

For ever double the processing power makes, the bandwidth makes 2 of them. Look:

Bandwidth --- Processing Power --- Time
    2 --- 2 --- 0 months
    4 --- 2 --- 9 months
    8 --- 4 --- 18 months
    16 --- 4 --- 27 months
    32 --- 8 --- 36 months
    64 --- 8 --- 45 months
    128 --- 16 --- 54 months

So processing power goes down 50% each 18 months compared to bandwidth.
