I received my Raspi a few days ago and the first thing I have tried is running OpenElec to run XBMC and it runs very well. So many things to try not enough time.
No it will run Windows and have a battery life of 5 minutes (enough to show the desktop and start bar) and the weight of the table will help you build muscle tone.
Cisco want to be more than just routing and switching and need to stay relevant with all the new ways/devices which connect to the corporate network/cloud. I think this is a good move for them.
If this device is:
Reasonably Priced Easy to buy Easy to use Gets the tick from Security
I wonder if Bing will find its place in companies desktop SOE through the transition between Windows XP and Windows 7. Most companies will lock down the desktops pretty tight, so depending on how your IT department feels you may not get a choice of what search engine you use. There may even be incentives to do this... I hope not.
Games require alot of power and communication with cellular networks do too. At the moment, you don't care if your DS or PSP runs out of battery but it is a bit more of an issue with a phone which you may need in an emergency.
1.I judged Bing by doing a search on the word Linux and at the time it came up with the top result for a linux vs MS Server page on Microsoft. Ok so they fixed that but still. How can I trust them to not hide things from me.
2. Yes. Have you see the Windows 7 party video on YouTube, or have you used Windows Mobile? All very cringe worthy. Bing is just a copy of Google with a fancy background.
3. I would have more respect for Microsoft if they didn't always try to lock you in to their products e.g Sharepoint, Office, C# etc.
For example - Cisco routers have the ability to hibernate PoE ports and turn off modules at certain times of the day or when they are not required. With Virtualised environments you can turn of VMs for times when you have lighter load etc.
I am sure other hardware/OS has features like this but people just need to use them.
No excuses, there are ways to have java without the plugin if you are that paranoid :)
I wonder if someone breaks a law on Mars who do they answer to?
If they become Linux developers then sure
there's an extension for that

All applications with ads ask for those permissions. They don't want to advertise something you can't buy in your own country.
If you don't want that then buy an application with no ads - simple.

then - I want.
One word - convenience. You should really try Steam, it is awesome.

So Lucid users can look forward to using Bing as the default search engine.
Please sir can we have a Linux version too!!
Rick Rolling is so last year....
does that mean you have no friends too? ;)
Linus hates you and your evil phone (im joking)
How many Debian apps are tailored for a phone that a normal consumer will use?
Yeah, I would be happy if the proprietary driver could play video without flickering.

4. Hard to say....
the thought of using bing makes me cringe
