    Step 1: Create a corporation called Chimp Inc. and make its owner a chimp named Bonzo. (People can leave their fortunes to a pet cat, they should be able to leave controlling interest of a corporation to a chimp.)

    You don't leave money to a pet, you establish a trust or give money with stipulations for its use to a designated caregiver. Making a chimp owner of a corporation begs the question; animals can't own property.

    There's no reason you couldn't still use a filtering proxy. What you'll need to do is configure that filtering proxy with its own CA cert which you'll have to add to your browser's trusted CAs. The filtering proxy can terminate the outside SSL connection to the remote site (with its own list of trusted external CAs) and generate and sign its own certificates (with its configured CA cert) for the internal SSL connection to your browser. This is how BurpSuite works, for example.

    Not to detract from your accomplishment, but to clarify, 1989 was not pre-SQL; SQL dates back to the early 70s and became an ANSI standard in 1986. Commercial RDBMS's based on SQL were available as early as 1979. There might not have been any open source SQL databases back then, though.

    While I'm extremely glad to have Google Transit directions back, I'm honestly shocked at the lack of integration with iOS contacts. Typing in your friend's name for directions to their place is a pretty basic use case.

    I don't believe that's correct; if you are a US citizen, live outside the US and work outside the US, you are still liable to pay US taxes. Now, there is a fairly generous exclusion you can claim that, for most people, will completely nullify their tax obligation. But if you earn enough money (for 2011, the amount was US$92,900), you will still be liable for taxes on the marginal amount above the exclusion.

    It's called the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion.

    I worked on a project with a team in Chennai and we did it the opposite way; 7 AM Eastern, 5:30 PM Indian. Worked out pretty well, although sometimes it was a bit tough being put on the spot when they've been hammering on an issue all day and you're still groggy, wiping the sleep from your eyes.
