    In the economy they choose to live in? More like the economy they were born in. (Shit, what a dumbass I am, I should have choose to live in Buckingham Palace.)

    Rent, food, clothing, etc may be correspondingly cheaper in India, but international plane tickets aren't. And visas aren't easy to come by; there's a long line at the US embassy every single day from people looking to get out.

    Do you run Windows? Which version? Memphis? Cairo? Whistler? Longhorn? Or maybe you're a Mac guy. So would that be Cheetah? Panther? Tiger? Leopard? Of course, now that they've moved to Intel chips you can run either one on your Yonah CPU.

    Everyone does it, it doesn't hurt anyone, and you can always call it by the version number if you really want. Well, except for Windows :P*

    *(yes, I know there really is a version number but it won't mean much to most people)

    Oh, come on, let's not be quite so flamebaitish. I agree that Ubuntu is focused more on the desktop/easy-of-use side of things, but it _is_ based on Debian, one of the most solid and reliable Linux distributions out there. Maybe it's not the optimal choice for server applications but there's no reason to believe (at least, none that you give) that it couldn't perform as a perfectly adequate server at a less-than-enterprise level.

    I have a 17" widescreen Dell laptop with an abnormal native resolution of 1920x1200 and Ubuntu set it correctly straight out of the box. I can't comment on how easy it is to change this, as I've never had to.

    Rockbox development has been going on since (I believe) the original H120-series from iRiver.

    Incorrect. Rockbox's original platform was the Archos Jukebox, which was the only supported platform for some time. Since my Studio 20 is collecting dust in a drawer somewhere, I hadn't checked up on Rockbox in a long while. I'm pleased to see it has not only survived but branched out into more architectures than I'd have thought possible. Way to go Bjorn and the rest of the Rockbox team!

    Then guess. Be on the safe side and mark yourself busy for 3 or 4 hours. Or if you prefer to have it appear "instantaneous", mark it for 15 minutes. No one will punish you if you get it wrong.

    Some do; most id Software engine games (like Doom 3, Half-Life 2) let you manually set any resolution and aspect ratio you wish. The only catch is you have to do it from the console (or in the config files directly). The menus still have a limited number of pre-set resolutions.

    I wouldn't be surprised if he hadn't heard about it; I hadn't heard of it. You could have mentioned that DSL stands for Damn Small Linux, a 50 MB desktop Linux distribution intended for use on a business card PCs, flash drives and other small portable media.

    I'm not criticizing your English, AiZ -- it's generally excellent -- but I think what you mean to say would be better expressed as "do something appropriate". The Spanish word "puntual" has a meaning that the English "punctual" lacks. "punctual" means "to be on time", nothing more.

    Perhaps a close English word would be "timely".

    Good idea, except what if your phone can't get a signal, or runs out of battery life, or is just plain off? This is something I'd prefer a dedicated "Always On" provider to handle for me.

    Time-of-day call ignore
    Now this is something I agree with. It could intergrate with the calendar/appointment functionality most phones have already. You could also (optionally) have a special response that the caller - "I'm in class now, but I'll be finished by 5. Leave a message or call back then."

    Smart synchronization
    This is going to happen, eventually. It's unavoidable. People have more and more information holding devices, the market will demand a universal solution.
