The problem with making a realistic or educational game about anything is that real life generally isn't fun. Space, like everything else, is boring. It's mostly empty with a few rocks here or there, all moving in a very predictable patterns.
There's not even any buffalo to shoot or rivers to ford. Also, you really don't want to get space dysentery.
If you want to make it fun then don't put it into a current day war, better yet, don't put it into any war that ever happened, as you will just end up twisting and mutilating history.
You can make a fun game *and* mutilate history at the same time. There's no reason you shouldn't.
If you portrait current day war you have a responsibility to do it at least somewhat accurately.
For example some people in the US are now bitching over how Obama didn't make an appearance at some boy scout meeting. This is the sort of thing you have a king or queen for.
No, this is the sort of thing people just need to get the fuck over.
As long as bad people exist, you will always need to keep certain information secured
As long as bad people exist, you will always need to know what your government is doing in your name. Any solution to any problem which amounts to "trust the government to do the right thing" is wrong.
The most usual defect is inadequate airflow. People have a case with poor airflow, and reduce it further by not clearing dust buildup. As such the components can't cool themselves well enough
Even the worst designed air-flow should not cause damage. Components should shut themselves off before they are in danger of damage. CPUs do this, GPUs should too.
When you're stuck with a console, the bsdgames package helps a lot to pass the time. There's a great version of Tetris, ports of the classic games Hunt the Wumpus, Adventure, and Trek, and some assorted puzzle games. My favorite is Boggle. Great way to spend 3 minutes while something downloads/compiles/whatever.
Please. That is ridiculous hyperbole. We lost 3000 people in the last 10 years to terrorism. We lose that many to food poisoning every year. We've lost more people to rampant militarism (6700 between Iraq and Afghanistan) in the same time frame. You fear mongers are more dangerous than the fucking terrorists. Your pathetic cowering is pathetic.
Slide rules at least require a little knowledge to work. If you can use a slide rule, you understand the logarithm rules pretty well (even if they haven't been taught to you as such yet). Honestly, we'd be a lot better off requiring slide rule use instead of calculator use. Learning slide rules teaches basic concepts. Logarithms, significant figures, etc. The accuracy is good enough for pretty much any high school or college course. And you *can't* cheat with a slide rule.
Tribalism is not just what makes large software projects difficult. It is quite literally the cause of almost all of mankind's problems. Everything, from street corner graffiti to civilization threatening global warming can be tracked back to tribalism.
The TSA claimed it was not possible to store the images. They lied.
Taco, I am disappoint.
It was stormy here last night. The only lights in the sky were lightning.
Yes. No ones hands are clean in war.
Hey, I loved Shenmue.
Oh, burn!

Why?
Nobody here is imitating anyone, so your point is irrelevant.

So uh, what exactly is their legal standing for keeping it up there?
Only something we like to call the First Amendment.
Do not eat the radioactive snow.

That said, anything that doesn't use vsync is stupid, period, always
Vsync = lag. Don't run MAME with vsync or double buffering if you care about such things.
Why rely on a filter instead of a thermostat? There are no false negatives with a thermostat.

Solitaire is still the best method for getting Grandma & Grandpa used to using the mouse. Or minesweeper if they're clever.

Funny, I don't see an "except for the border" clause in the Bill of Rights.
You have a right to not buy TI products.
Not always. In my school district a TI-83 purchase was mandatory for pre-calc.

Maybe the best option is to take an introductory programming course at a community collage and see if you like it?
Don't do this. You can teach yourself anything you'd learn in an introductory community college just by sitting down and reading and practicing.
I prefer to beat the password out of the mark after 5 minutes of brute force.
