  3. Similar to Poker on Why People Watch StarCraft, Instead of Playing · · Score: 4, Insightful

This seems similar to watching poker on TV where the viewer knows what cards all the players are holding. There is still suspense with regards to the flop (and turn/river) and whether the betting/bluffing strategies will work.

From the article: "If Gamera makes it off the ground, the team has the potential to capture a world record for human-powered helicopter flight with a female pilot on board."

So the record they are going after purely based on the sex of the pilot? That's weak.

Having actually read TFA, it didn't make any mention of why video arcade games were excluded from the contest.
I still remember being so excited when Pac-Man was announced for the Atari 2600, and so utterly disappointed at the graphics and game-play when I actually popped in the cartridge for the first time.

This is especially head scratching since they are including a Pac Man arcade console as one of the playable games at the exhibition.

Guarantee? That's a strong statement. My 10 year old son knows the difference between his iPod Touch and my HTC Android phone.

That reminds me of the Jerry Seinfeld skit (or maybe it was in Seinfeld, the show) where he talks about not knowing what to do with his hands if he were on a nude beach. I think he came about with the idea of just wearing a belt with pockets attached to it so he could at least put his hands somewhere.

Based on TFA, it doesn't sound like it would be a one time treatment. It would probably require on-going medication to keep the stress hormone at bay. If this ever pans out to be a viable treatment, it would provide a steady revenue stream to the manufacturer.

If LaHood thinks a passenger talking on a cellphone is distracting to a driver, then isn't a driver talking to a passenger just as, or even more, distracting? I say let's ban all driver communication, both intra and extra vehicular. This will of course require a redesign of all cars, perhaps a driver "cockpit" like a commercial airplane.
