#3 Backing up movies to give to the kids to use because they will scratch them up where they won't work anymore. After that happens, make a new copy from the original.
I own a large collection of DVDs and this is a use I do for some of them that watch. I also do this for CDs as well.
I agree that MP3 can be made to sound decent but OGG, AAC, etc. have surpassed the sound quality at similar bit rates. I encode all my music to Ogg with a quality setting of 6. Note I can still tell the difference but it seems very subtle to me. For example, I just tried another test with a FLAC encoded CD and an OGG encoded CD. On a pair of low end Sennheiser earphones (~$60) you can still hear the difference. However it is much better than a MP3 sounds at the same bitrate. Listening again makes me want to go back and rip everything in FLAC after my next disk upgrade. Here is hoping widespread adoption of something better than MP3. Wouldn't it be nice if iTunes, etc. would support FLAC or some other similar lossless format.
In a word, no. This might work for Wii games with simple but not complex controls. This type of control is mainly sensitive to motion in a plane. The wii remote should give you full 3D motion as well as rotation control which would allow for much more complex control schemes while maintaining ease of input.
Why not pick up a console this generation? I saw a new gamecube bundled with Zelda for $99 recently. It's a great machine with lots of great games you can pick up cheaply new/used. I think it will keep you playing for at least a couple of years until the price comes down on the new consoles. Here is my list of outstanding titles:
Super Smash Brothers, Mario Kart, Zelda The Wind Waker, Beyond Good and Evil, Time Splitters (and TS Future Perfect), Metroid Prime (and Metriod Prime 2), Simpson's Hit and Run, Viewtiful Joe (VJ 2), Donkey Konga, Zelda Four Swords (though really requires friends and GBAs), Super Mario Sunshine, Pikmin (Pikmin 2), Prince of Persia, Resident Evil 4, Super Monkey Ball (SMB 2), Animal Crossing, F-Zero.
There are other great games as well but you see my point.
It WAS published to the Developers section of/. which is what this library is aimed at, GPS developers. If you don't want to see development related items on the main page, log in and configure yourself to filter Deverlopers from the main page.
Nice find and funny. However he does note the code is "completely free" on the referenced web page. Seriously, does anyone know if it is an issue using this code in a LGPL library? The code is still "free" and credit is given.
Sorry, I just misread your post. Well I checked but the definition didn't quite fit;-):
moron: An inferior olive size having a woody pulp and a large clingstone pit, growing in the mountainous and high-valley districts around the city of Moron, in Spain.
You are correct in that the P-code is unclassified. However the reason the encrypt it is to prevent spoofing of the military receivers (hence the term Anti-Spoofing (A-S) when they refer to the Y-code).
I would encourage you to re-reading the GPL and LGPL. I have done both and as I read both, the base GPL precludes linking a non-GPL appliction with a GPL library. They say on gnu.org a reason to use the GPL for a library is to give the open source community a competitive advantage over commercial products. They recommend the LGPL if you are wanting to become the defacto standard. Hence our choice of the LGPL for the license.
I concur that the average GPS user will get no use out of this. However, it is useful in a variety of university, government, and commercial situations. Examples include ionospheric physicist using GPS to study and/or model the ionosphere, advanced GPS users that are trying to exploit GPS by utilizing the raw data, and developers of GPS receivers and GPS processing software.
Actually, you can build a full software GPS receiver and know of several different ones. The only hardware typically used is the antenna, a downconversion to a base band, and a digitization of the signal.
You can use these processing routines with any hardware that provides access to the "raw" GPS data (range, phase, etal.). All GPS receivers aimed at the survey market allow this including units from Thales, Trimble, Allan Osborne, and others.
I agree with your critique. However, this code was extract from various projects using "jam" and there was not time/resources to do anything different. We may consider a change for the future and would welcome any community submissions that would improve the build process.
Well you could ship the CD with tracking numbers and as a courtesy send "unofficial" ones through electronic means so they could don't have to wait. Hey, could you ship a CD to the guy who defrauded you and claim you delivered to paypal.
One of the greatest things of the Sierra On-Line games (especially their adventure games) was the great original music. I have been enjoying listening to the music from the games played many years ago. For downloads of the music see:
Time Warner's RoadRunner in Austin, TX does not require you to have any cable service to get Internet service. It is also the same price ($45/month) regardless of the cable package you have (or don't have).
Let me make sure I understand the arguement assumptions:
1) if you are adopted by your father, you can't be considered his descendent thus his geneology would not count as yours 2) both genelogies listed in the bible are Joseph's (instead of one being Joseph's and the other being Mary's as some argue both of which have David in the genology)
From my understanding of the way Jewish genealogies were listed, it was common to leave out generations and only list more important ones. Thus, the counts could be different for the same number of generations. To me this is still at least a plausible explination for this difference.
I would like to understand what parts of the bible are self-contradictory? I have yet to find good examples of this but have heard it often quoted like you did. Would you provide me examples?
The reason you need two GBAs for a Gameboy Player is that you can't have an e-reader and a cartridge in the GBA at the same time. Thus one GBA has the super mario game cart in it ready to receive and save the new level and the other GBA reads the e-reader cards and sends the level.

In reading the definitions, this copying right does not apply to computers as they are not sold primarily for their ability to copy or record music.

No they have not gone back 180. They have gone forward and have done a full 360. ;-)

Yeah, it's probably because I speak Texan. ;-) Sorry about the grammar. I thought I had double checked it but I guess I didn't.

Did you mean this site http://www.pocketnes.org/ as the link you gave for PocketNES seemed to be an emulator for the Pocket PC and not the GBA?
