Most people have fear of imminent death when being robbed, whether the fear is entirely rational or not. Don't try and tell me no one has been shot over stealing $50 items, it happens all the time.
I never claimed you were a nut for carrying, and I rather like guns myself. I was merely posting what Christ had to say about it.
This discrepancy between what Christ taught and what a lot of "Christians" practice is what led me to atheism in my formative years. How people can kill over material goods, especially incredibly low value ones, and believe they are acting as god would want is entirely beyond me.
You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.' But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.
—Matthew 5:38-42, NIV
Where does it say "blast the motherfucker that jacked you for your sneakers"?
Apple? Supposedly, they're going to buy ARM. Why? So they can shut down all the competing ARM devices.
Is that even possible? I know ARM licensed out tech to a whole bunch of outfits, ST, TI, Atmel, etc, etc. I don't know if those were one-time deals, or if they have to renew annually, or whatnot. Either way, I'm sure whatever was signed should still hold for a while, even if ARM was bought out. Doesn't seem feasible, not to mention 99.9999% of ARMs aren't in apple products; They're in toasters, coffee machines, microwaves, gameboys and 1000 different cellphones, etc, etc.
There isn't 600 additives, and they don't add toxic stuff for the fun of it.
When you burn organic material it makes a bunch of combustion products, and a lot of them are bad. It's not like they're pouring benzene and cyanide into the tobacco before they roll it; They naturally occur during combustion.
Bingo. Not to mention that if a smoker dies at 65, they don't have to pay out 20 years of pension, nor do they have to cure "normal" old age heart disease and cancers.
The planet where you can send an SMS to anyone on earth with a $20 phone and a few cents of credit, no matter if they're in Tibet, Zimbabwe, or Siberia.
Not everyone has a phone that can run an IM client. My phone can, but I don't run one because data rates are mind-numbingly insanely fucking high here.
I'll do you one better, a bank I had an account with wouldn't accept passwords with ~!@#$%^&*()_+/\?|`, etc, in them. Only ([a-zA-Z0-9]*) was allowed!
In the 21st century. Pretty fucking impressive.
But apparently they're still too bloody expensive.
For the same price you could get a nice full-frame 35mm DSLR, and some good glass. I'd wager it would be a wee bit more usable too.

I seem to recall an intact (maybe not every flying, just a sample/trial) buran got shipped to a museum in germany a couple years back.

Don't suppose you could get them to give it up though.

It's entirely fine if you use the fraction instead of a stupid inaccurate decimal representation.
Oh, you'd also need politicians that can pass a fucking grade school math exam.
I remembered Lviv was under Poland before WWII. So I guess it was still imperialist wiring after all. I guess they don't make 'em like they used to.
Obviously the 70+ year old GLORIOUS WIRING OF THE PEOPLE is superior to shitty imperialist wiring, duh.

Last I checked copper Gb ethernet needs 4 pair, and is only good for 100m.
Not much good unless you live inside the central office.
RG-6 is copper plated steel. cheaper.
Bingo. I'm sure they installed all that "Try AOL for 30 days" shite too.
Just curious, would piston engined planes not have a problem with this?
Fire up an old DC-3. I don't suppose they had air-filters though? and ash is probably hard on the prop?
something posted in 5000 different iterations on the internet, with dream of humour = meme, no?
Never knew they had a MIPS port, I thought the first one was for alpha?
grml is nice. deb based, zsh by default, lots of packages, etc.
I think I'll just request to be buried in my car, in that case. Volkssarg. It's even got AC, and a CD player.
avg dose of the strongest cigarettes is 1 - 1.5mg.
100g of tylenol will kill you, but at the normal (500mg - 1g) dose it doesn't, and isn't recognized as harmful at that dose.
So if you smoke a carton in one seating it might be an issue.

If you want freedom to do whatever you'd like with your electronics, don't purchase electronics that you don't have control of, simple as that.
Fine line between benevolent dictator and a oppressive one; It's easier to just not have a dictator at all.
Can't see that being an issue. there's always encryption too.
I didn't know you could change the keys on a selectric.
