Things work like this in China, if the gov or most of times a particular person who is in charge want sth to be done, and done quickly, you do it as required, and once you grabbed all the money you leave, no one actually cares what happens after wards. No public enquirers will be allowed to question how the gov spent tax money since that info is considered as state secret. You probably know that if you steal a s/w and do some localization work won't cost 20m yuan.
I am not sure if you would share a usb port on you PC or not, I have a Gigaset S450 [DECT]and Siemens M34 USB stick, which works wonderfully with the Skype, and you can use it for VoIP and landline calls, sw has a perfect intergration with skype and your address book, even checks your email and delivers a notification on your handset.
I lost track of the Gigaset development, I know that they do stand-alone versions of those phones now that allow to use Skype or SIP provider of your choice. Gigaset is the best phone system I have ever used with good industrial design and excellent features, I do not understand why is it not that widely available here in the US.
The bottom line is: in a democratic society, you always have the chance to vote for a government with an open internet policy, eg. the revoking of London congestion charges was immediately abolished by Boris Johnson. But for users in China, there is only one dominate party, which pretty much means no hopes for change, so AUS, CHN is two totally different situation.
TV viewer in UK, love UK TV programs, no ads and program quality is well high, good world news coverage, football, and international affair coverage such as World Cups, etc. I am fed up with TV in the US, rude and loud commercials are just horrible, personally I believe US has a fundamentally wrong approach. So I have stopped watching TV since 2007. I have Comcast internet only and will not pay for TV with stupid commercials. I would rather pay a higher price for a commercial free channel.
Well done amazon, who went for the extra mile so customer like me don't have too. I think what amazon has done is fascinating and benefit the customer, who can get their on time w/o the extra delivery charge; the RV campers, who can get some extra buck themselves; and of course amazon itself. It is a very create idea, yet challenging form a business' perspective, I am glad to hear the general result has been positive. I think a lot more companies that are facing a fluctuated demand dilemma could be enlightened by such a idea. Well done amazon.
During the dark ages of internet in China[i only say dark because it is darker now], google.com was hijacked by chinese isp to redirect all traffic to baidu.com. think about that!
Another important reason why the government is posing more restrictions on gaming in China is due to game itself is becoming an important medium in China, which you can effectively reach the youth group in China [as well as the last US election]. Probably the only channel the government left in the wild without censorship for the past decade. Young people in China really don't have much option to choose a hobby, the only thing that is cheap and people can have fun is online gaming, that is why internet cafes are still filled with young people and underage children [gov require to be 18 to enter internet cafes in china during schools which is poorly enforced].
Dude, don't even try to get started with the TOS , since when the US legal system was invented to protect the small and poor? btw, i do not own a xbox, and after the news, never will.
Not being an asshole myself commenting this way , but m$ is being an really asshole doing this, I don't hear apple lock up modded apple tvs, and jailbraked iphones, and have m$ ever given free wi-fi in airports?
btw, yeah, if you are looking for something that does EXACTLY everything you need is a google voice number and port your home phone number when you sign up...
I am using a Siemens Gigaset system along with a Siemens M34 USB dongle, which allows you to manage directory form your PC and Skype etc, but you have to do it via outlook, which is painful as well. Personally, I found google contacts to be the most useful across platforms that can be a feature for home telephone that can be further explored. There are later Gigaset phones that allow you to simply copy your sim contacts from your mobile phone to your home phone or batch send it via bluetooth, but I found Siemens phones are not very popular in the US, which it strange because I found Gigaset phones are far more superior in call clarity, os friendliness and have better industrial design and build quality, and runs on standard AAA batteries instead of those battery packs.
My credit goes to the UK, which has a fuse in the socket, also, the attached cable always facing downwards to save space, you can also buy ultra flat socket to make even more close to the wall, which really helps when you don't want leave a margin between your table/bed and the wall. Also, all wall socket in the UK has a safety switch which you turn-off before you plug / unplug, and it holds the plug much more tightly in comparison with the US plug.
Sigh, I don't get this world anymore, you get people dying because of starvation and people paying for weight loss; now, you have people dying for a broadband connection and people being throttled using their bandwidth they paid for. Can I just donate my other 30% download and 50% upload I paid for to developing countries please!
Clam down dude, no body said it's stupid, it's just not very conformable, that's all I'm trying to say in comparison the good-old-fashion-way to make a phone call...
Nokia was quite insightful to discover the unique niche of mobile phone gaming market, which was suggested to be next hit of the gaming industry with the iPod Touch and iPhone as a gaming platform and further diversified gamers. However, the failure was foreseeable as well since N-Gage was not build on a solid foundation of users and the lack of support from the gaming industry. The hardware was also a big failure as well, you cannot make a phone call comfortably since you had to put a brick sideways to your ear; nor smooth running of a game due to hardware performance restrictionm but iI just can't stop wondering what would have happened if Nokia injected all those cash for N-Gage into its smart phone R&D...
Not a total surprise since Australia facing a similar dilemma of low population density in their country and the cost for initial infrastructure, giving the track record of trying to filter the whole country's net traffic last year, I serious hope they wanna complete their project using us tax money~

This the the Chinese way of doing things, it's not about what you do, but the gesture of doing things.

Same here, I paid for the same thing, and confirmed to be very SHIT.

I believe IT crowd is from Channel 4. I use Tor to trick the web to think I am from the UK, and they you can watch whatever you like.
