Republicans had nothing to do with the screwup on the protection, its just one of there aids found out about it. Nothing illegal was done.
The other day I was walking by this house and it was unlocked so I went in hung out played some PS2. Damned police said I was tresspassing. But hey I said it was unlocked open to the public. They left the door unlocked so ANYONE who look there could see. To bad the judge didn't see it my way.
Where I live, for the general election each polling place only serves one precinct. For smaller elections with low turnout (like primaries) they consolidate the polling places. So for the primary maybe only 1/2 of the polling places open and they serve more than one precinct. Oh and this makes it a hassle to find out where to vote.
I understand what you mean about college books. Can the same be said about elementary and high school books. Anyone know how elementary books are written? I had always guessed they were written by the staff of some mindless corporation.
"Oh, to finish this program, you need the Borland C++ compiler, because it uses some Borland-only calls"
Better hope Borland never goes out of business or you would never be able to finish that program. Sorry boss, or vendor just went under, all our code is worth crap now.
Then join one of the two partys and work for change! Have your ever tried to be a state delegate to a party convention? Have you ever gone to a party meeting and voiced an opinion? Have you ever worked to get a "good" candidate on the ticket of either primary? Or would you rather sit and home and just complain?
He wasn't saying that child porn shouldn't be censored. The point he was trying to make is that you shoudn't destroy/outlaw a tool just because ONE purpose is illegal. You can break a window with a hammer, should hammers be illegal? You run over a person with a car, should cars be illegal? You can watch child porn with a VCR, should VCRs be made illegal? You can watch child porn with a DVD player, should DVD players be illegal? No matter what some slashdot readers think, freenet is not 99% child porn.
But what is the miles per gallon on hyrdogen from ethanol. If my SUV get 10mpg on Regular gas, but gets 30mpg of ethanol->hydrogen->electricity. Then I am better off using the ethanol->hyrdogren even with the 30% hit.
Even proponents of biodiesel realize that it is not for the mass market
Can you show me some sources? Biodiesel already is in the mass market. Many citys run it as B20 in their buses.
Essentially, there isn't enough refuse biomass for biodiesel. Who said you only have to make biodiesel from refuse?
It'll work as long as a small amount of us use it
No one has ever suggest we switch to 100% biod. It can be just another part of the alternative energy mix. Going just 5% bio would mean a lot of cash that stays in the US and not going to Suadi Arabia.
I get about five pieces of junkmail a day. I get about 40+ spam emails a day. So yes, paying for postage has cut down on the level of unsolicated mail arriving in my snailmail mailbox.
Except it is illegal to use the wma codecs unless you have a paid copy of windows. So ya I can listen to car talk with linux, but that means the FBI will probably be beating down my door.
I did some looking too. It looks like most states allow lawyers but a few do not. I got this from findlaw
Can I bring a lawyer to small claims court?
In a handful of states, including California, Michigan and Nebraska, you must appear in small claims court on your own. In most states, however, you can be represented by a lawyer if you like. But even where it's allowed, hiring a lawyer is rarely cost-efficient. Most lawyers charge too much given the relatively modest amounts of money involved in small claims disputes. Happily, several studies show that people who represent themselves in small claims cases usually do just as well as those who have a lawyer.
This is an urban legend. Small claims DOES allow lawyers. At least they did in my case in Missouri. In small claims court, the rules of evidence and procedure are greatly relaxed, so lawyers aren't needed as much.
How do they get the location of the phone? I have a nokia 6800 on ATT. It has GPRS is there any way for me to get location data from it.
(I just skimmed their website for this info and gave up)
To me the big problem is that the cell companies won't let me use this information myself. I would love to be able to get the id of the tower I am connected to. The lat/lon of most towers is available on the internet, making it a poor man's gps.
Problem is very few cell phones let you actually see the tower that you are connected to. I have only seen one "GPS" enabled cell phone that actually let you see the GPS coordinates. I asked a sales guy at Best Buy about one of the gps enabled phone. He said the gps coordinates were only accessible by the phone company to provid E911.
If everyone else is going to track or cell phones, that at least let the user have access to the same info!
He HAD a contingency plan. It was "There are bases there with air strips I can land at".
I would say it was only a contigency plan if he had asked them BEFORE the flight if it was ok to land there and get fuel. Why didn't he call them first and say, "Hey if I crash land at your base will you sell me fuel?" If they said no then he could have come up with another plan.
During round the world flights you have to get permission to fly over other countries airspace, why could he have talked to these bases before the flight?
I doubt that very much... I suspect that what would be happening at that price point is that people would be saying "If CDs were like 1/2 price, like $4 or less, a lot more people...."
If that were true then why do so many people people rent DVD's and games? Why buy for $15, when I could rent for $3? Those same people that rent could have just illegally downloaded them for free, but choose to pay a low rental fee.

According to netcraft
The site www.doctorsknow.us is running Apache/1.3.29 (Debian GNU/Linux) PHP/4.3.3 on Linux.
For some reason thought these guys were sure to be running Microsoft products. Guess I have too much of the slashdot bias.
what was the article?

Yep, its called the war on terror.
If your company sells hammers they will use to break a window. There is no way to prevent it. So no one should sell hammers.
So are you saying any speech that doesn't promote your idea of freedom should be outlawed?

Just clean up the metal. Cut it in little chunks and sell each chunk on ebay. Anyone remember when you could buy little chunks of the Berlin wall?
