Do you remember problems something as basic as keyboard? You press Backspace and...it works like Delete:) It took years to sort it out.
But still Linux is the best:)
Don't be silly. Software developer and love? You don't need to know language of love when all your love is stored on your hard drive as jpeg and avi;-)
It works for me as well (I started using it in 1998). It works fine also for my parents (both 60+ years old), they however started using it in November 2009. It is rock solid and causes a lot less troubles than Windows XP they had before. Oh, and we're all using Ubuntu (we also love Unity:).
Unity is not perfect. But still it's usability is much better than original Gnome 2.x and (as I mentioned in my previous post) still better than Gnome 3.x.
KDE/xfce/etc are not solutions either. Unity Dash with lenses, scopes simply rock and make work much faster and easier.
I think that the major problem here is compiz. Even Ubuntu devs have problem with it (Ubuntu 12.04 contains some pretty serious bugs related to compiz). It is baically unmaintained these days.
But still. No Unity no Fedora for me.
Too bad that there is no Unity for Fedora. I would like to give Fedora a try but I don't like that new Gnome (due to different Alt-Tab behavior and other annoyances).
I have another problem. For me Unity is simply great, I can't effectively use computer without it and because of that even If I would like to try some other Linux distribution I can't because Unity is available only on Ubuntu! That sucks!
You pay for the SERVICE not for the API. You could implement the same API but without the data their service is providing it would be useless...Also, Google DID NOT copyright those APIs, if you look carefully you will see that the whole API is a simple REST like webservice. There is nothing to copyright.
Really?? I have Samsung Galaxy S2 and I can't recall any incorrectly working application, and I have downloaded a lot. Guess I am (again *) lucky;-)
(*) - the same is with my Linux PC, in last 2-3 years never had any issue with drivers, non working devices etc.
State of ATI/AMD drivers on Linux is rather poor, much worse than nVidia. My recommendation is to stay away from AMD GPUs if you plan to use Linux. If you are looking for more details about AMD & Linux read this article on Phoronix:

It is just a matter of time when such systems will start appearing. I bought a laptop some time ago, and to my big surprise it had VT-x (Hardware Virtualization) flag disabled, enabling it by the vendor was just a matter of setting one bit in some processor registry, but still they decided to release BIOS without such option. You could buy similar laptop with VT-x enabled but it cost more. I expect that in 3 years time we will have to pay extra just to have Secure Boot option configurable. After all that feature will be purely for "experts" (that is Linux users) and they can afford paying more...
I have set up pdnsd on my local Ubuntu box. This is a simple proxy DNS server, very easy to set up and gives good results (depending on network response time for cached domain is about 1ms).
Come on guys. File size DOES NOT matter. You can distribute only the exe through the Market which will download (during the first run) rest of application data to SD card. There are already games which are distributed this way. This is also preferred sometimes, because you can distribute patches in more optimized way (instead of pushing 1.4GB to the market you tell your ~10MB exe to download only those parts of application which are required).
Didn't crash on Linux - Chrome 44

And you are a troll.

Information on this wiki page is unfortunately outdated. Currently Unity works _only_ on Ubuntu.

Actually this is true. iPhone/iPod applications running on iPad look like shit. And some don't work at all.
Really? I have been using it with Ubuntu and no problems whatsoever. Fonts are okay, the Java Swing theme is also fine.

Nexus S has 16GB of internal memory.
