Anyone needing that kind of stability should just use FreeBSD. They know how to put together a rock-solid system, and they have sensible release policies to ensure that their releases are very usable many years after first released.
Even the best "enterprise-grade" Linux distributions pale in comparison to FreeBSD and everything that it offers. It's a complete system that just works.
Just not for enterprise-grade businesses.. who wants a "complete system" that's almost completely dead like anything BSD (Berkeley So Dead)? With Red Hat, they have seven years of support for each major release from a regular subscription contract, and even extended life support contracts for more time than that.
The way Sony treated its customers who wanted to use OtherOS to try to protect their intellectual property is the right way for LG to treat Sony: take it away from them! Since filing complaints and not getting justice, it makes me feel good to see that Sony might have to pay.
Meanwhile, you can't even take AmTrak from Los Angeles to San Francisco. You have to get off and ride the bus. It's been like this for months. Do the politicians seriously think they need to invest in high speed trains when they can't even maintain the normal ones?
Don't dare give us Linux and try to take it away

Let the corporate world beware, don't tread on Linux. Big mistake to allow it and then take it away.
The first step after rooting my Droid Incredible was to remove bloatware that came with the phone. Shortly after buying my phone, the first post I made to the http://www.incredibleforum.com/ was, "I can't wait to get root!" Unfortunately, this was just a hopeful comment at the time, and a dream that I was not sure would be fulfilled. A dream less likely for owners of the Droid X.
It is a Graphics Processing Unit, not a Gaming Processing Unit. Sure, they are great for gaming, but also very useful for other types of 3D and 2D rendering of graphics.
So, the last thing they show is CD quality sound from 1994 to present. I was at least expecting to see integrated sound on motherboards... maybe USB or Bluetooth devices, I don't know for sure, but there must be something interesting that has happened with PC Audio in the last sixteen years.
My Droid Incredible had no problem recognizing this sentence. No, it didn't get the capitalization, or the comma, but it got every word and then found the article in wikipedia about this sentence. I've been amazed at how accurate it is at recognition without any training. So, as I see it, speech recognition is alive and well!
I love to watch TV, but I hate the price. So, investing less than $100 at Frys, I put up a small antennae on my roof. Now with the help of TV Fool, I can pick up all the big networks and a few independents.
I got no comments on my recent "Like" of/. on Facebook, but I am usually ignored for all my nerdy posts there. At least on/., I feel appreciated with Achievements and Karma!
Neither will I! I am committed to this position since their current update will remove the ability for me to run Linux on the system, and the current update is required to log into the Playstation Network. As long as Sony insists that I lose functionality that I paid for in order to be able to go online, they will never see another penny from me!
Whip it, whip it good! DEVO!
If Microsoft hadn't already alienated the world by trying to bully them, then I might care.
Don't let a crisis go to waste. Lots of money to be made!

When they removed Linux capabilities from the PS3 it was supposed to enhance enhance security. April fools on them!
Bill Clinton talking about what the truth is! I guess it depends on what the meaning of the word "is" is... http://www.slate.com/id/1000162/
Windox 8 will be a joint effort of Apple and M$ bringing the best features of each of their OS's to users.

Flash sites should be included as censored, as far as iOS users are concerned.
Oops, jumped to add this comment, and wish I could delete it, since it has nothing to do with a country's request for censorship.

They already are posting in the Therapeutic section, interfering with legitimate massage therapists ability to have their ads visible.
I was wondering too, what else is hiding? When will these other time bombs explode?
You can bet there is one or more politicians claiming this as their legacy... like the grand new library they are planning for downtown San Diego.

I can see this becoming part of the Cap and Trade bill. The government will control the utilities, and your thermostat, too!

Ironically, I was facebooked by my former boss about this assault on my privacy.
Most of all from Star Trek, but also from shows like "In Search Of" which he narrated.
