My first thought was that if there is intelligent life on this planet, I would imagine that the part of the surface that has the sun directly above it would make a damn fine place to put solar panels. And the rim between the dark and light sides should generate some excellent wind power.
And from my point of view IMDB get negative news. I hadn't noticed that it was now owned by Amazon (I have been using it for ages). I have deleted my quick link to it as a result of the article. For me Amazon is up there with Apple as people not to do business with.
Take a look at the wikipedia page on Ahmadinejad and Israel. He's pretty nuts and definitely wants to get rid of Israel. I don't see a quote about genocide though, just wants to get rid of the state; weird comments about the holocaust and 9/11.
Denying the holocaust is a crime in many countries. Since history is written by the victors, is it really any surprise that people not of that group may question the facts as presented by the victors.
After all, consider the "facts" that Colin Powell presented to justify the invasion of Iraq,
Also bear in mind that Mr A is playing to an audience.
Here in Australia a certain Mr Katter may be "nuts" to many but he is loved in his electorate. For those in the US that don't understand the reference just insert the name of your local evangelical leader and that will probably do the job.
Of course it bloody well does. Aussie national pride is involved. Bloody Norwegians think they can take this one away from us they have another thing coming.
*grabs beer from the fridge and pulls up a chair*
.
.
Actually, I just noticed that the Australian is from Melbourne, so the Norwegians are welcome to it:o)
Strictly speaking most cheese is not vegetarian as it contains rennet (an extract from the lining of a sheep's stomache, the removal of which is pretty much fatal). Which is why you can get vegetarian cheese.
Just because many vegetarians choose to be flexible about it, especially when eating out, doesn't make it any more vegetarian than fish or oyster sauce.
WTF. I thought this was a thread about supermarket checkouts. Now at the bottom of the page I find twidarkling has decided to post something relevant to TFA. Please get back off topic immediately.
Of course if you only have to MARKET one processor, rather than multiple, you costs come down even further, meaning the consumer ends up with a better price performance and everyone wins except marketing drones.
Only a fool repeats the same action and expects a different outcome.
The only way we are going to change their business model is to avoid using them. If that means also avoiding people that only accept paypal, then do so.
The context of this is that there was a spate of traffic incidents involving pedestrians last week, including one who got hit by an ambulance while wearing an MP3 player. I call it natural selection.
But it's not really any more stupid than our law which makes bicycle riders wear helmets when you think about it...
I have a QNAP TS 210 with twin 1 tb drives in RAID. Works a treat as a media server and general NAS. It sits under my desk on a 1 gb home network (the Samsung series 6 TV is hard wired too) and makes virtually no noise.
I saw the play about twenty years ago (I assume I was reasonably sober), and for the life of me I don't know who the fuck Sergent Trotter is, let alone who he may have killed or who the other contenders were. Which leads me to the conclusion that it was a totally unmemorable play. But then most of AC's work's are no different from the detective crap that clogs free to air nowadays.
As opposed to the US, where you just have to be extremely rich (or sell your soul to other that are) to run.
Getting to choose from two brands of strawberry ice-cream ain't the same thing as choosing what to have for dinner.
Iran may have leaders that threaten violence, but then so does the US when it talks of invading Iran.
The difference is that Iran has not started a war in 170 years. I have lost count of the wars that the US have started in that time, but you would need more than two hands, and the tally of civilians killed in the latest can be seen daily in whichever news feed you prefer to look at.
The problem with many in the so called developed world is they are blind to their own hypocrisy.
Actually you are a Slashdotter making observations about translations of the public statements he as been reported as making. So not quite a primary source.
Always love the "Terrorists win" at the end.
I was playing CS in a airline lounge once and nearly forgot to use headphones. "The bomb has been planted..." and now it is off for a full body cavity search.
Bullshit. They put ads on because they can. When Sky first started in the UK it didn't have ads - only promos. But the lure of extra money from an audience that had no choice. Well, I chose not to subscribe. I also choose to not watch commercial TV.
There ARE other models. The BBC is commercial free, produces some of the best TV and films in the world. The Australian ABC is also commercial free, and streams direct to your desktop. Both are paid by taxes one way or the other. And you know what? Both the BBC and the ABC run rings round any shite that the US produces precisely because they are NOT beholden to advertisers.
Being a/.er I would love to go the ebook route. But when booksellers also control the devices? Fsck off. For the same reason I avoid Apple like the plague.
We could have all been killed by a third world war prompted by all that extra nuclear fuel kicking around the world.
We could have been killed by a few of those plants going critical.
Thanks anti-nuke wackos.
Of course they think this. And the mainstream media want them to think this. As soon as the government can get its hands on a mechanism to regulate what the people see, they will be able to expand it to include 'misleading' indy news sites (under the guise of them publishing inappropriate material of course) and anything else that tells it like it is.
How long do you think a "graphic video showing dismemberment of adults and maiming of children" would last. Say bye bye to wiki leaks.
We may elect representatives but our party system ensures that they toe the party line 99 times out of a 100. So much so that they seem to have to convince themselves that what they are doing is right even when everyone knows they strongly disagree with it.
I will certainly be preferencing the major parties last in the next election, but guess what, half the time the media reduce it to a 'two party preferred vote' figure anyway. I will also be attending polling booths again to try to talk some sense into the populace.
I really like the shark net analogy but black lists don't work because all I have to do is add a new to the internet and the poor kiddies might get exposed. And there are an awful lot of new sites getting added every day.
If the aim is to create a safe internet then you should create a white list of safe sites. But even then the moment one gets hacked the plan fails. It gets even worse when you consider the likes of google or youtube.
As it happens kiddy porn is much to valuable (and risky) to place on the open internet anyway - it is hidden behind paywalls and encrypted networks. But then this internet filter was never about this. Which is the chief reason to be alarmed.

You may be a minority, but I am betting you are a growing one. 99% of Hollywood content isn't even worth a free download.

I never knew he spoke English. Or maybe, just maybe, that is a favourable translation...
Yeah, because inviting 21,000 people would take a while on a phone http://www.timeslive.co.za/entertainment/article670622.ece/Teens-Facebook-party-invite-draws-21-000-RSVPs

"and without RAM the system will not work" Fuck me. Really? I look forwards to reading your eBook for other such gems.

I seriously hope you aren't able to vote in Australian elections if that is your grasp of the situation.
