You don't know much about stock do you? Now is the time to buy stock in BP not sell. The demand for oil is increasing not decreasing so the stock is only going one direction and that is up.
Seawater would likely have no effect and or worsen the situation. Drilling mud is a high density fluid, the density is what creates most of the high pressures required to equalize the well.
All of my apps are coded in C# and there are thousands of others that I know of. It cannot be a big leap for visual studio to add support as well. The real question is how is apple going to handle the not requiring a mac to compile or publish.
No but now your folder of com files will require a butt load of runtime files on every single workstation. Now personally I would smack it out as a stand alone executable in delphi, but that is just me.
So the slate is going to run WebOS instead? Good luck with that.
Apple may insist that developers use native C or Objective C for device programming but that is exactly the reason that IPhone apps smoke any other platform when it comes to performance.
Ok so it is pretty much a given that China, Mexico and the other Asian nations are not going to implement this in their own countries to the detrement of their fast growing industrial economies. Implementing this is about as beneficial to the US job market as the new health care bill. Our countries manufacturing industry is already treading water adding additional costs to do business in this country only quickens the pace.
I am not sure about the asus netbook but I bought a aspire one last month for $280 with windows 7 installed. The asus has more ram but I am perfectly happy with my purchase.
You are correct about mechanics, I slung wrenches for quite a few years. No good mechanic works at a dealership, they pay crap and even worse when you have to fart around with low paying warranty work.
Truth be told it was very seldom that we farted around even hook a car to a machine for diagnostics. We would jumper the computer with a paper clip to flash the codes to the dash. I would then fix the problem and charge the customer a extra 75 bucks for running diagnostics.
I bought a acer netbook about a month and a half ago and could not be happier with it. The battery lasts forever and it is really convienent to carry around. This thing never leaves my side, besides the hardware specs on it are not far away from what you have listed anyhow.
I own a iphone and have absolutely no need for flash in any form on my device. Flash would add nothing of value to the platform. I already have nearly a unlimited quantity of applications and games on it what value would it add?
Having written a few games I just cannot see a situation where I would take on a "idea" person to assist me. I worked with a artist on my last and it was still 10% time his part and 90% my time to actually get it to work and finish the project.
The problem is that they will not likely get a developer on board. Anyone that can sit down and write a game doesn't need help to do so. He is not likely to want to provide 100% of the work in exchange for a small amount if any profit.
I cannot tell you how many people approach me with new game ideas every year. Most if not all want to share their fantastic idea for a cut of course. The only problem is non of these people have any game programming and or graphics, sound experience etc. Why on earth would I want a portion of the profits when I can have all of it since I am the one doing all of the work anyhow?
Forgive me if I am less than impressed, 30 minutes with a compiler and a few lines of code. Not like they pulled of some amazing feat, what is impressive is that they got caught.
Lack of talent, this is a profession that can be taught but unless there is a underlying talent and real interest in it the student will not succeed. The best programmers and system administrators are born with the genetic makeup and thinking patterns required to succeed in this field.

I could not agree more, the less anyone knows about unix / linux the better.
Yes I am a contract Linux Administrator
The tag on the article "submittertoostupid" pretty much says it all here folks.

Easy if you are jailbroken and or at 3.0 anything over 3.0 does not work.

Why use such a high tech method when a simple hammer can produce the same results?

All of these news organizations need to remove the political slant from the reporting. Every since CNN turned into a liberal rag I quit watching it.
They are just going to drop that containment dome over the blow off valve. It is not going to be suspended by the ship.

I don't think more DPI is really going to make my ssh terminal session look much different.
GPad
I do every bit of my system scripting with python. If I need something just a tad easier for a end user I will use dialog/gdialog .

Mod this one up that is some funny shit.
