I generally consider myself a republican for various reasons. However on november 7th I will cross that line at least for congress and the house. We need the dems there to restore some order and sanity to the legislative process instead of rubber stamping every single thing that runs through congress.
Now tell me would you somehow feel safer if it was illegal or these people where banned from using this. The general population as well as the above parent poster just amaze me with their ignorance.
Don't you think there are alot more easier to obtain over the counter ways to obtain what they need? Hell every gun store, walmart etc sell black powder by the pound. Banning this substance does not make me feel any safer. Every welding shop even walmart sells pure oxygen and mapp gas, which can be used in a fashion just as lethal if not more so.
I make a shit load of money but not enough to just drop nearly 10 grand on the software you just listed.....or is it perhaps you use pirated copies?
There is not a single package you listed that a home user would be willing to drop the cash on, it just ain't happening. The only reason any of that stuff is even popular is because 90% of it in use is pirated.
And you are telling me you bought 3DSMAX, I call bullshit you are running pirated shit. Only the biggest of the biggest companies can even afford it and if they can only one dude get's it. Nope I will download and run blender, at least it is legal and I ain't paying crap for it.
1. Put a web service interface on it so that I can incorporate it into other applications. I have a ton of projects that I could use this for if that is possible. The users can use something familiar and I can drive applications off of it.
2. Sell it as a install package or free for download or whatever. I want to use it for driving in house applications, my boss would not be too hot on the idea of the spreadsheets being stored at google.
I bet Microsoft is calling around today asking if by chance somebody was to back them up financially would they invest in this cool company they know about that is tossing around the idea of a lawsuit against google for infringement....you know wink, wink we got your back bro!
Ah yes, just like being a unpaid spokesman for avis rental cars....
Notice how every time you run across one of their sites you feel the grey matter draining from your skull. Sort of like those kiddies you run across that tell you they are a great hacker because they can use sendkeys in vb to type the word hacker in notepad.
So now we have two unpaid spokesman for avis rental cars crying about each other.
Google is about to get taught the same exact lesson that Netscape did. MS will not hesitate to use their platform dominance to crush google from the face of the earth. Now of course MS is probably going to get sued again for doing so but, so what the gains are much bigger than the penalties. MS is going to just keep them wrapped up in the courts for years until they are nothing more than a smoldering wasteland.
Google had a chance to avoid the defeat they are about to get dealt, but they are not thinking enough into the future. There best chance was to push firefox with the google toobar installed into as many desktops as they possibly could. That means putting the firefox download straight on the front search page in big bold print and advertising like a mad man to get it installed on everything possible including OEM's etc. In order to win and keep winning you have to own the browser / platform.

The problem is most of these logging systems cannot distinguish from legitimate browser surfing from spyware, bots, dialers, malware etc.
No I certainly do not blame the users for having to deal with insecure software provided by paid third party vendors. I don't care what you think it is simply not the users fault if their machine gets owned, the responsible party is the software vendor.
If you are attempting to build a embedded system that runs on RT linux of some flavor and cannot even support your own desktops your chances for failure are close if not certainly 100%. Furthermore switching to xp embedded, vxworks, whatever and C# you will still fail with nearly 100% certainty. Before you start picking tools you had better start picking resume's because it is extremely evident that you have a expertise problem.
Bottom line is not amount of splattering money around is gonna help unless someone has the grey matter to be able to do something with it.
I have had commercial support contracts with oss vendors and I can tell you one thing. If it gets so bad that I have to pick up a phone and call for help it cannot be fixed anyway.
Well you are not giving us enough information. If you sold me this pdf file for profit then yes you are wrong, at least in my opinion to restrict printing for my "own" personal use.

That is not true at all, it ain't about linux at all. I want to play some music I bought that is DRM protected in the GM stereo in my car. It ain't just about linux it is about fair use of a product I paid for in the device of my choosing. There is not feasable way today to technically do this without greatly impacting fair use. When you come up with the magical DRM method you let us know.

Well yes it is fairly simple you see, and this from a guy that is not a music lover and could really care less about drm on music since the most I do is listen to the radio. The issue is that people only want fair use of the product they bought. They want to be able to play it a unlimited amount of times in the device of their choosing. Say for instance I want to listen to some tunes and I can only get it in MS DRM protected files which don't work in my car stereo or on my linux machine, you see now we got a problem.
You cannot technically DRM protect content in a way which will allow legal fair use for the purchaser of the product.....period.
You know, I was thinking the same thing you are however I think the intended audience for this thing are a little more comfortable with technical devices. I am going to give the general population the benefit of doubt here and I really think they are smart enough to stay away from something with such restrictive use.

Looks like it is a book by a front page user....
Web design and development are two different things, everyone can design but only a few can develop.
If you do not know how to check, I can assure you that your network is fully owned.

I think she is working for mozilla now, maybe we will soon have a patch tuesday for firefox...

Simple solution is to just set up a ssh tunnel...
A good majority of the stuff running on it is python based....looks like we could have
some more coders joining the ranks before long.

Hubble circles the earth every 96 minutes which is a distance of close to 25,000 miles so calculate the speed...hint it ain't exactly sitting still...
So what is the correlation between the speed and damage chances between the shuttle and hubble?

Microsoft is about to get a little lesson in why the public is not going to go for this DRM crap. I predict
the sales to be very dismal at best.
Why certainly, as he pushes the button to modify the client hostfiles
windowsupdate.microsoft.com 38.119.83.27
Besides they don't need to even worry about that until a patch tuesday.
Hey XP was the most "secure" operating system ever produced. Obviously the truth
has nothing to do with tactics.
