I'm sure there's got to be cheap/free classes/lessons on the internet for this stuff.
If you are teaching this software to the students and they can't afford it, then what's the point as they will never actually be able to use the software?
If they are going to use the skills at work, then why won't your company purchase proper licenses for them?
I agree with pretty much all of your assessment. I tried playing this game a few times over the course of a week. I got 2 characters to level 5 before losing interest. I've been playing MMO's since 2001, and not since Dark Age of Camelot has there been a more annoying world chat channel. In LOTRO you get to see a message every time a player kills a monster, regardless if they are in your party. I never stuck around long enough to see if this was a feature you could disable, but why in the name of Mandos would you enable such an annoying thing by default??
More DAOC comparisons: - There's no Fishing Skill - You can't swim under the water + Combat system allows you to click ahead to follow up your last spell/move
If you've never played World of Warcraft, you may like LOTRO. If you are looking for an alternative to WoW, this may or may not be the game for you. Personally, I've canceled both:)
oops, here. You dropped your tin-foil hat on the way to making that comment.
Why buy anything from anywhere that has a government that might do questionable things? Doesn't all government do questionable things?
Caught the Lego story on Digg today. Nice timing.
I remember the first time Star Wars was re-released to theaters. My brother got caught running a red light on the way to the Uptown. I told him that the force was not with him. He didn't think it was very funny, especially when the cop found out he didn't have his license with him...
I thought all the money they were losing was because of Pirates!
I don't understand it. They put the chip in, and then a person buys it and the clerk activates it, and it will still make it onto the internet somehow.
I wonder how much of the quoted $400 Mil are stolen from the inside...
Actually, you can upgrade most if not all the non integrated componants in the new intel Macs. Even the CPU on the new Minis can be upgraded, whereas before it was soldered iirc.
I don't think it is quite that cut and dry, although you make a valid point; that it was not his connection to use. The problem here is that many people purposfully leave their wireless open so that others can use it. I don't know if that is as widespread in Singapore however since the law is much more restrictive. When I first turned on a new mac notebook recently, it auto searched for networks and found one. Would using that network be wrong? What if I thought it was my network but wasn't really? If everyone in the neighborhood uses the same router it makes it even more confusing to the user.
I don't think a direct corelation can be made that the person was trespassing unless it is shown that they actively tried to hack into the home network. If all they are doing is going out to the internet, it don't think it's as big of a deal.
One officer has his knee on the guys neck, they both have his arms. While the officer on the left is calling it in, the officer on the right begins punching the guy while he is saying he can't breathe, It does not look to me like the guy is continuing to struggle at that point. They should be completing the handcuffing, but instead the other officer punches him several times in the face. I think you are just trolling. Go look at it again if you aren't.
While I'm most likely never buying this OS, I've been a big fan of Robert "Bob" Fripp for quite some time. For those who don't know who he is, He founded one of the premier "intelligent rock" bands, "King Crimson." He also worked heavily with Brian Eno and Peter Gabriel in the 1970's, creating some of the more brilliant music of the time. His solo work (and duo) relies on something he and Eno invented called "Frippertronics" which later evolved into "Soundscapes" in the 90's. I really can't wait to hear what he's come up with on this project, creating very short sound pieces seems a bit harder than the much longer pieces he normally plays.
The title of this post is a bit of a Lark, of course it can.
My choice for the startup sound of course would be the opening section of the song "Discipline" from the "Three of a Perfect Pair" album. And perhaps a good error noise would be Belew singing, "I repeat myself when under stress I repeat myself when under stress I repeat!"
I don't think it is all that wise to upgrade both an OS and a full Office suite at the same time. It's really best to roll out one thing at a time, and make sure it all works. The UI changes alone are going to freak users out. I know of places that are just now rolling out XP, and they are doing it one section at a time. The more testing you do, the safer you are.
Does he own exclusive rights to the name? If so it's a moot point, but if not then the people creating merchandise need to license that name from someone. Example: Every Calvin and Hobbes T-Shirt is counterfit, because Waterson never consented to merchandising that name. I'm not aware that he went after people directly, but I do recall there were repercussions for people that sold the counterfits.
It seems to me a case of some people going a little overboard with the whole "promote" idea. In this day and age, you can't use a corporate trademark like that and not expect some kind of backlash. Kudos to the fanbase on the other hand for getting the word out there about this fine show(s).

This is Slashdot. You have to welcome yourself sometimes.

Lego Star Wars to come back with all six movies in one game

It's the new anti (alt+0220)ber geek code they implemented with the last CSS update. Remain Calm, all is well!

I stand corrected! Thanks, my mind was starting to jumble at the time.

But enough of this banter.

A job for RoboGOP!
ok that was bad.
Ya, I smoke after sex too...
I think he meant Carl Borack but I could be wrong...
Oh yes, let's let the government spy on everything we do because after all, if we aren't breaking the law then we have nothing to hide, right?
I do hope you are being sarcastic.
You are misinformed. They are no longer the consultants you say "nee"; they are now the consultants who say "eki eki eki ftang whoborble"
Wow, doesn't take much to slashdot a geocities page heh. Here's a google search with some mirrors http://www.google.com/search?q=super+greg&ie=utf-8 &oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=fi refox-a
He's not going to make it to the White Castle after all...
Look, they know a genuine Panaphonics when they see one, hookay?

I think they are trying to benchmark the OLPC project by running WoW under Cedega, but it's just a guess.
whoever modded the parent down should be the first against the wall when the revolution comes...
