I hate monster. If a position we have opening shows up on there, that means instead of about 20-30 people interested in the job, I get info from everyone within 500 miles, or who wants to live in this part of the country who has seen a computer before and can spell one of the words in the posting.
Kinda a pain. I don't think any of our successful hires have been from monster.com applicants. Many times they don't make the initial screening and mostly the others fall out during a phone screening.
Nah...turns out they bought the remaining assets of some company from the 70s that made a pong console, therefore they have the sole rights to any console game or derivative.
After all, without Infinium knowhow, there is no way Sony or Nintendo could have succeeded with the PS2 or GameCube.
I'm waiting for Z as well, that way we'll be at the end and know that we have something we can count on being there until someone extends the alphabet.
I think last time I played is the mall's arcade (now closed) had a Rastan game stuck off in the corner.
I don't play anymore because everyplace wants a dollar to play and they all look the same. Hit anything that moves and see how fast you can hit button combinations. I think DDR is pretty dumb but at least it was original.
Just like hollywood, now games are trying to get by on flashy graphics more than content. I agree with what others have said - get something that'll play the old games and charge a quarter. At least then you have variety. Plus I'd feel better about having my 5 year old play some game where you have to shoot the alien space ship or inflate the monster than decapitate your opponent.
Do the senators that disney keeps buying to extend the copyright periods come with this deal or will Comcast have to purchase them seperatly?
How about Phil Collins and Elton John?

There are simple solutions - get management that has balls. Don't want people blabbing in your resturaunt, eject them. Have ushers in the theaters eject people who are being obnoxious. When I say a broadway play, that happened...someone brought a baby who was crying and they were told they would have to go out to the lobby until the baby quieted down.
Of course then they'll be tons of lawsuits over how they were discriminated against, etc...

As we left, I swear the guy running the drive through was Darl McBride himself. He was claiming complete ownership of all the fries in the bag and bemoaning the fact that Burger King fries are stolen from McDonalds because there is no way that Burger King could figure out how to fry a potato on their own.

Even if you only allowed 80/443, credit card fraud still can happen. That is where they sign up for a fradulent card, or use one. I know for fact that PIT is pretty wide open. I was able to sit there and ssh and VNC back to my machine at home...pretty cool.
The ones I really can't stand is when you have two upper level management, or some sales weasel and management together.
They always feel the need to keep the verbal farting going to explain how they have a keen grasp on the blindingly obvious, which is followed by the other trying to show just how much they understand the same thing.
VP: Of course one of the other reasons that we're interested in Voice-over-IP is the cost savings. We can't keep paying the phone company $30 per line. This will allow us to redirect those funds elsewhere.
Sales: Of course the savings are great. The phone company has been able to get away with charging what they want for a while as they are the only game in town, but now with Voice-over-IP you can save some of that cost for use for some other project since you no longer have to pay $30 per month per phone.
VP: This will allow us to then spend that money in some other areas where it is needed as we'll no longer need to pay out per line.
And it goes on and on. Makes me wanna kill myself. Of course anything you try and say to let them both know how foresightful they are and move along instead just makes them think that you don't fully understand the situation and they start to explain it to you again.
God...sometimes I feel like I live in "Office Space".
I suppose you could argue that porn is a vice and that if they get a little for free then they'll get hooked and soon start paying for it.
Though they seem to be giving it away - tons of web sites bill free porn for me, I just need to give them my credit card number to verify my age....yeah...

C# may not be that great compared to C++ or Java. But what.net provides is pretty nice.
My officemate wrote a function in vb.net on a Windows box, running via ASP.NET/IIS/Win2k. I wrote a small little C# program on my Linux box that calls the procedure on the windows box. It looks something like this:
result=addup(2,5); with 7 being put in result. Nice and simple. Could have easily been something to add a user to a box...or I could reimplement the same function on my Linux box to add a user there and he could call it from an vb script.
It does a great job of providing cross platform calls without adding tons of overhead or a lengthy API...the libraries do all the setup/teardown instead of the programmer, and it is a lot cleaner than parsing html output.
It may not be perfect, but I'm just sporting a woody because I finally somewhat understand what the hell the nebulous.net is partially supposed to be...all thanks to Mono.
Guess some people just don't get it. It would be painful...last time I ran Linux on a 386 was around 96 and kernel compilation was about a day I think!

Reading the article, the pictures they had of the prototype designs for the remote shape sent that same thought going through my head.

Apple could provide the wireless AP's for some publicity...using the Apple Airport at the Airport or something like that.
No....you still go to Hawaii, you just make the flight by transferring through Idaho, Pittsburgh, Richmond, and everywhere else that has access.
