i'll be honest i don't really know what went on there, I'm torn between america being really stupid, and being really evil; if you think it was stupidity thats fine with me.
If these theoritical candian terrorists managed to hide in the moutains in caves or something, and canada was unable to aprehend them would america invade then? Pakistan hasn't turned over any tailiban, are you invading there next? because i thought you were eye balling Iran. Either ways fighting a prolonged war in arrid moutains againsta an entrenched gorrila warfare enemey will probably only make terrorist attacks against america more likely.
When your small rockets cost as much as a jaguar sports car, you don't need to use many to make plenty of proffit for the military contractors. Even if google and apple make a bit money, you would be an ignornat fool to belive the deffense (attack) contractors are making a fortune (and a very big chuck of the US spending). Parrent post is right, nothing is better for new toys than another war; Thats why they come with all the scare tactics so you don't mind more of your tax dollars doing to new toys for the military.
The afghan war dosn't seem to make all that much sense to me either (unless it was a big ruse to get into iraq). I know you guys claim a guy living in a cave over there managed to fly multiple big aircraft through NORAD and all your elite billions of dollars of jet fighters to crash into buildings (he sure made you guys look like fools). But is going to war with that counrty the answer? Didn't you guys kill the guy you reackon was incharge in pakistan (are you going to invade there more as wel now? i know you bomb them alot)? Couldn't it be seen as most of these people living in caves are actully fighting of an invading army? If a group of terrorist canadians blew up a building, would you invade canada?... wait a minute don't answer the last question i don't want to know the answer.
Even when i build a new computer (new motherboard and processor) there is ussally some components from the old pc (power supply, case, network cable, soundcard), more or less depending on how wisley i shopped in the past, or future (say you have a nice ide dvd player pick the new motherboard with sata and ide). Don't get me started on the idiocracy of a two goverment system where it is their job to try and shut down eachothers projects (FTTH was originally a liberal idea from howard). I think it's just a big circus to keep us amused while other people decide what to do. I was just saying what i would do; re-use what you can now and get a quick boost then roll out fibre to any new developments and copper in need of repair.
i don't really know what the goverment is planning. but i wouldn't go and upgrade everything at once. If i think my computer is running a bit slow, i put in a new graphics card and a ssd in, not replace the whole damn thing. If leaving some copper in for longer meant more people got a higher speed sooner and cheaper i'm all for it. That said i don't belive in replacing ageing copper with more copper, you should replace it with fibre and aim to take it to the home eventually.
Wrong. You have a few people with all the money; that they can give back and forth to eachother and come up with whatever value they want. All while using their robot armies to do whatever they feel like.
"I also have a noob question. Can kaveri or even the existing a10 chips be used in crossfire mode? Meaning integrated graphics crossfired with a discrete GPU. Does it even make sense to do something like this? For example, it could be a good upgrade path."
Yes and it should even automatically set it up for you.
Are you saying the gt 650mobile and gt750mobile are the same performance? That seems like a big rip off from NVIDA. Also who can you play a modern game at 1366 X 768? you wont get much detail in fps.
depends what you do with the computer. If your browsing for pictures of cats then the trackpad is the way to go, if your writing code, the nipple mouse kicks ass because your hands never have to leave the home row.
i like my Thinkpad x220s a fair bit, but looking around now for a replacement and lenovo can't seem to give me everything i want. for example is there a 13inch macbook pro replacement? I don't think so. If you can find a thinkpad with high res and is light weight they wont give you a decent graphics card (not even integrated hd5000, probably so they can claim longer battery life). Partly why i chose lenovo to begin with was the customisibility at sale, but now all they let me choose from is 2 proccessors, and one resoultion. If the Asus ux301 had a track point nipple mouse, i would have already of bought one, it's got everything (slim, very high res, one of the fastest laptop cpu gpu combo you can get, and user serviceable, bit pricey though no more than apple).
I was going to take the 23 and me test. I don't care about whether its 100% accurate, but fuck letting google have my genome. HELL NO. Email, phone records, credit card details, locoation, personal contacts, browsing history, sure BUT YOU CAN NOT HAVE MY DNA GOOGLE.
We will have the battery tech in 10 years. We already have the tech in labs at the moment (multiple options), once they perfect one, then figure out a way to mass produce it, we will easily have >5 times the current energy storage per weight. Which is due to the demand of consumer tech (phones and cars at the moment) and will allow for some even cooler stuff like electric airplanes and helicopters (much less maintaince and much cheeper fuel) and robot butlers (as well as all the killbots america wants).
Probably because he is not a sheep that obeys all googles tells you to buy, and he can look at it objectively, to see its possibly the worst heads up display unit possible. And what the fuck has microsoft got to do with this? Perhaps your a google shill, no wait google dosn't have shills, they just have sluts. The ergonomics, the look, and the function are all terrible. Go back to the drawing board google unless you want to just cash in on all the mindless fans. And before you claim i'm a shill, it would matter who made google glass i would still think it's a piece of unflodable wireframe, single screen in the wrong place, shit.
Google glass has pretty terrible style. Infact i would prefer to wear the star trek ones than google's wire frame piece of shit. The design team should be sacked or put on youtube comment censorship duty. The ergonomics, the look, and the screen all crap.
What? I always thought it was the other way around. Maybe with steam OS coming out, Nvidia has stepped up it's game, but i haven't seen any proof yet. Feel free to enlighten me.
Water cooling is getting pretty cheap, and it's quite effective it will also eliminate a lot of noise. If you run linux it's worth while going amd, they are more open and it shows (like being able to give a virtual machine access to the graphics card).
There will come a day (and it's fast approaching, 10-20 years maybe) when we will be able to store 10-100 times the electrical energy we currently can per weight and size (this is thanks to the high demand for mobile phones laptops and electric cars). Some of these techniques will have very long life cycles (next gen capacitors and fuel cells come to mind) and when that happens (as well as improved solar and wind generation) i think it would be nice to pay for a setup and never get any more power bills (from my local electricity provider or global monopoly power corp) one less thing to worry about.
Every person knows the risks of human drivers, if they don't, well they are naive. between human error, human inattention and human maliciousness. There are two camps, people who think they are the greatest driver to bless the earth and can deal with any situation in the blink of an eye, even if it's caused by some malicious human idiot; and people who realize few people are as special as the first people think they are.
You give me a high performance car (thankyou), and i can break it in an hour or so, without hitting anything or crashing in any way. There is a lot going on very fast when a car is pushing the limits, and it doesn't take that much to push it over (this has been shown repeatedly on top gear). I don't know how much easier a tesla would be to break, but I think the top gear team went into the review looking to push the merits of the petrol car, than actually properly testing the tesla.
I would buy a HUD if it looked like a normal pair of glasses (with 2 screens for 3d augmented reality) but i still think the watch makes a good heart of the system, due to its portability and easy yet unassuming access.
Oh, how i agree sir. Problem is the tech giants won't want to make it the heart, because that will cannibalise the already very profitable smartphone market. Once one company makes a nice version with its own modem (flexible wrap around screen that’s easy to put on and take off) and it's an inevitable runaway success, then every man and his dog will offer a sim card version of the smart watch. One small issue is battery capacity, but by spreading them out around the band and increases in battery technology, we should be able to make some damn sexy watch-smart-phones soon. I reckon that is apples way to come back to relevance, but the lure of a couple of extra quick bucks now selling an accessory for the iphone may be too great.
I'm not sure if printing out the loan payment is going to help any one in america. Do you know how inflation works? zimbabwe had the same plan as you (i actully own a trillion dollar bill from them).
I thought the idea was America was taking all it's manufacturing to india and now the balls in china's court. Which i then thought stood to reason is if china isn't getting some good contracts from America (they can't really be that good because they build it for peanuts, at least it provides jobs i guess, however that's another story) they would be a lot less likely to look favorably on the giant debt America owes them. Hell they may even need that money for a national project to replace the lost work.
i'll be honest i don't really know what went on there, I'm torn between america being really stupid, and being really evil; if you think it was stupidity thats fine with me.

I do not belive it has an 800mAh battery. There are watches with bigger batteries than that.

i agree, the entire premise is ridiculous in numerous ways, good thing i didn't come up with it.
