That's a foolish argument. The parent suggested that such a thing was possible and you replied by saying "prove it with an established case". How does that strengthen your position? His original point was that Walmart could in fact control the prices of an area and when Ma & Pa come in cheaper, roll back their prices. Just because they haven't doesn't mean they won't.

While I agree that your idea contains a substantial technical merit worthy of discussion I would like to propose a simpler, and perhaps less error prone method. In this method (patent pending) I propose that the editors of slashdot remove the crack pipe from their mouth and attempt to remember what they did five (5) minutes ago. Unlike my father, who has a glial blastoma tumor, and has a significant portion of his brain removed, the average slashdot editor should have a short term recall better than say, your average white ritalin suburbanite. Oh wait...

I didn't submit this, as suspicious as the coincidence may be. I remember when I was a kid I started a bbs (Fly By Night 1:3651/6) and wrote Mr. Sweeney asking him to be an official distributor of said software. Imagine my excitement when I got a letter back and 4 (?) floppies. Boy, with my TAG bbs, 200MB of harddrive space and every phrack to date I was the shiat. Well, that and I got to bear witness to the first 1 GIGABYTE SCSI harddrive ever installed in my local net. Holy crap, we had to get the local DuPont guy to install it. It sounded like a jet engine firing up.... Of course, it was promptly filled with a gig of porn. Yes, we called it porn back then kids.

    Ahh, good times. Good times.

It was a lot of fun, and a lot of work and the result is barely tolerable when doing a mixed cast. And I'll tell you why, it's a lot of work doing a radioplay, and as many have noted the average aspiring voice talent doesn't have the resources to record their voice... What you get is the link posted above. :)

Of course it's a scam. It's a scam to scare the suckers into buying licenses. We got the very same letter for the past two years, and you know what? Every year it's weakened the proposition that we should install more back end MS products. If it weren't for the fact that no one in my office trusts Samba for anything other than an academic play toy and a handy tool for developers everything (back end, server wise) would be non-ms.

The worst part about it, my GM, the grandfather figure got one of those letters personally and got suckered into paying $400 bucks for Office and Project. Bah. If I had known that I would have been preaching Open Office or something to him.

That being, if you are considering playing EQ than you should probably save your money for something else. Albeit an obvious point. I myself found the game to be unfun after about 6 months running into many of the same problems. What did I do? Quit. I mean really, you EQ fan boys should just move along from this thread, it's not intended for you as I see it.
