You have a point, but won't it be funny when microsoft-centric Uncle Bob comes over to install Windows WhateverVersion.3, and doesn't get his familiar windows or DOS prompt?
after all, uncle bob may not be smart enough to bring his own boot floppy with CD driver, etc. to install (or infect, as I see it) with windows...
My fiance gave me the DVD set... wow. Both are an exellent set to own... your friends would be jealous.
and at $75, I still think it was worth every penny.. especially since I didn't pay for it.:)
But you raise a point: It drives me nuts that DVDs are actually cheaper to produce than VHS tapes, yet they artificially raise the price, just like CDs. When they are cheaper than VHS is the day they will be more popular.
Another thing I hate is that while most people have a DVD player or are planning to get one, video rental stores have nowhere NEAR the collection of DVD's as they do DVD's. I mean not even close. I like renting movies, and I rent 95% of them on VHS.
I think the future (5 years + from now) is in movie-on-demand via Cable and Sattelite. (yes, I know pay-per -view has been available for quite some time, but the infrastructure is coming together to offer digital on demand videos). A pirates dream.
So... would you pronounce "fieyawieya" as fee-uh-wee-uh? If so I think I will begin calling it that. I think I will tack on my best new york accent to boot.
Many printer manufacturers do this, and not just with inkjet carts. I bought a Samsung budget laser, and it's cart was only half full as well. That being said, I still don't think it is right, and I would discourage any company from doing it. It is nothing more than a low way to sell more carts.
Does anyone trust a telecom company that puts spaces in their directory names, thus causing problems with some web browers? Not to mention, it's just bad style. Damn kids. Don't know how to do anything anym...grumble grumble..
I currently admin a few stores that run a POS (Piece of Sh*t) POS (Point of Sales) program called Microbiz. It runs on Win9x, and it is an unstable piece of junk.
We need to migrate to a new software due to the fact that support will be stopping on our current software within the year. I know there is LinuxPOS, but has anyone tried it? We need a full featured POS app for a small/medium size business.
Things like this give me much hope, as I have always thought that Linux is the ideal point of sales software: it is stable, can be no frills, has good user access control, and the network and remote admin can be made easy.
Linux, while it may not be the most used for gaming and multimedia, may have a niche in the POS market. In my view, it would be the perfect OS for the retail environenment.
Yes. I second this. Real men use IRC. I like IRC because there is much less "spam" to sift through, people usually know what they are doing, and I like the crude and old-school atmosphere that I grew up with.
I have seen that done before and I don't think the GTA team would be happy with that. They would devise new "drunk" algorithms. For instance, while you are driving in a straight line, you weave a little bit, etc. Making you more likely to get pulled over.
Or my favorite alternative is just to get really piss drunk, then play the game.
I know you are a troll, but Metacity runs ontop of Gnome, so you make no sense.
maybe you should practice trolling with somethng a little easier. Someday you might make a good troll, but for now stick to the BSD is dying topic until you are more experienced.
Probably because they know that you'll buy them for $50. I am sure they have marketing drones working full time to figure out exactly how much money they can sap from you before you'll stop buying games, and it's right around $50.
Your point is valid for sure, and even if you include these subscriptions, it would still be nearly impossible for them to turn a profit within the lifespan of the Xbox, if his numbers are correct. Good point, though - I am surprised a Monday Morning CEO could forget something like that.
uuhh... well... it is... uhm.... why must you ask so many questions?! its... uhhh... part of the... micro... kernel. Yeah, that's it. It's part of the microkernel.
My Star Wars strategy is along the lines of the quote:
"Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."
Yes, I will probably get flamed for saying this, but Episode 1 was a piss poor movie. Without the effects it would have been nothing except a cheap setup to explain Episode 2.
So, George Lucas has lost my trust. Movies are getting more and more expensive (2 people = $8 tickets x 2, popcorn = $4, 2 drinks = $7, candy = $4 = 16 + 4 + 7 + 4 = $31 just for the movie experience).
SO what I did this time around was to download a copy of the movie in VideoCD format off IRC. I watched it last night.
Many will say, "How can you spoil such a great movie by watching it off a burned CD?"
And they have a point - but I will not be fooled again. I have chosen to review the movie first, then if I deem it worthy, I will go see it. While one might think this would spoil the movie, it really doesn't. Divx/VideoCD is poor enough in quality that there is still plenty to catch the second time around, not to mention the much better audio in the theater.
So, will I go see it in the theater? Proably yes. It was much better than the first. But shame on George Lucas for hyping the first one so much and cashing in on it because it was the first new Star Wars movie in a long time.

Isn't your comment kind of redundant? Of course if your code reviewer sucks, it will be a waste of time!
That's like saying, "Unless you buy good beer, your beer will taste like crap."
In either case, it pays to hire someone who is qualified. Why hire someone who will not help?e

Of course you do. Just get a P2P file sharing proggie and there you are. Music *wants* to be free!
Maybe it's not an official browser war, but definately a browser police action like Viet Nam?
Either way, I am using Mozilla because it's better for me. I think it rules the earth and the seven seas.
That exactly what I thought. I thought, "hmm.. these aren't really that funny... but maybe they are really going to change their logo."
then came he end of the week and I was majorly disapointed.
That is just not true. I bought a IEEE1394 PCI card with 3 firewire ports on it for about $70. You don't need a seperate controller for each one.
So... would you pronounce "fieyawieya" as fee-uh-wee-uh? If so I think I will begin calling it that. I think I will tack on my best new york accent to boot.
Please chew your food before you begin typing next time.
The crack theory sounds good to me. Great job.

whay are you forgetting the very first GTA, Grand Theft Auto (1)? It is still a very playable and fun game.

If you read the article, you will see that in the game console market this never happens. How many people are waiting and hoping to buy a Dreamcast 2?
The game console market is very brutal, and usually there are big, successfull consoles, or losers and flops. Hardly any are in the middle.
