So, in other words, the.NET JVM works around the horrible memory management, caching, and other little things here and there of the MS Operating System....
Interesting method, instead of fixing the OS they put in a "work around".
No, since you are stuck with only one sense, you need to concentrate on it a bit more. If all the senses are working together, takes a bit less concentration because some are making up for others.
SCO isn't saying that IBM agreed to these terms, they are saying Sequent did.
Who knows what license Sequent had, they probably didn't have nearly as deep pockets as IBM, or as big a legal department, so the license might have been pretty bad.
The fact that he sited the source, and maintained the (c) would pretty much make it a moot point. Technically it's a copyright violation, but he didn't hide the source at all.
I wasted $50 bucks too... but nothing to do with company going out of Business, just lack of support for SBLive, one of the best selling Sound cards out there.
I think you should check some statistics. You'd be surprised how many guns there are, and how few get used for crime.
This has nothing to do with gun laws, they probably would have just spent more time figuring out how to blow up the building all at once if they didn't have guns.

Perhaps, but you still miss the point that it's the parent's job to determine how much this stuff affects their kids, and adjust.
Different kids are different, if you spend a lot of time with your kids, you will notice how things change them. My oldest became distant when watching too much TV (at 2 1/2 years old), He's 5 now and we haven't had TV for 2 1/2 years. The second one would probably be fine, but it's not really worth it. Easier to control videos than TV. (Started allowing videos about 6 months ago, don't want them to be "odd", just a bit protected)
Parents MUST spend time with their kids, and more than an hour a day. Then they will notice how things affect their personality, and then they should adjust, and be ready to not be liked for a while. We are parents, not friends, we are to protect and teach.
Also, Muslim is a horrible example, the women are not sexual objects, they are merely Objects.
Uhm... They are BARELY in the same genre. Have you played both games? based on your rules, Duke Nukem 3D is in the same genre because you can play against other people.
UO is a persistant Ultima style world, Everquest is a persistent Player 3d first person (or 3rd person, if you choose) graphical LpMUD.
Also, EverQuest's attack on PvP set the perfect mark for handling PvP (hey, want to PvP, go on your own server buddy).
They are both good games, but generally are completely different audiences. UO is an extention of Ultima, Everquest is closer to an extension of Lp/DikuMUDs. Also, EverQuest was the first major MMORPG that required a 3D Accelerator (which some thought would kill the game, obviously it didn't).
And yes, the reason it's EverCAMP is that they duplicated the concept of static spawns from most LpMUDS, this, in retrospect ended up being a bad decision with 2000 people on, rather than the 30 or so that were usually on LpMUDs. The expansions mostly fixed that issue on the new islands, and they are trying to figure out a way to fix it on the old-world without ticking off all the players. The problem is that most people don't get the item and continue on, they farm them for EBay, or their new level 1 warrior, that can't possibly be played without a Mithril 2 hander. If it was role-played, and you got your own stuff, the camping wouldn't be an issue... sorry, minor rant.
Yes, EverQuest is the only game that actually says they picked up most of their rules/concepts from LPMUDs. (Diku somewhat, since you have to drink/eat). lpMUD/DikuMUDs, MUSH, MUCKs, they are what spawned UO, EverQuest, but don't blame them on AC... I have no clue where they got the ideas for that game... whew.
Simple, the keyboard layout was the first useful one. They finally figured out that the keypad is annoying. And heck, peaking around a corner is just too cool. Also the sound was much better IMHO.

Just a couple things:
A. Classroom is not the magic bullet that is the only way to learn, hate to say it. You need a teacher, a mentor, but I have found the best teacher/mentor is NOT in a school environment. Most professors teach because it's a requirement to supplement their research. There is NOTHING that can not be learned outside of class, and generally more efficiently. The only thing a school is good for is that it is easier to get hold of someone that can teach you, this can also be accomplished if you ignore money for the first couple years and hunt down someone you want to work with, and take a job somewhere near them. I went to college for Engineering, but left for personal reasons. I took a job fixing roofs in a small company that consisted of several amazing programmers, and one Math ABT-PhD. I learned a lot from those guys, and eventually started programming, and learning all sorts of amazing things about algorithms and such.
B. What percentage of people actually need to know how the compiler optimizes? I mean really indepth. I understand how the optimizer works, and it helps in some design decisions, but that can be learned on the job also. I believe EVERY programmer should have indepth understanding of the language, and the platform they are on, but these things are generally learned well on-the-job.
The # of complaints that go to HR stating "This stuff is DISGUSTING! You must stop it NOW!" is enough to cause quite a lot of hoop-la.
And before you say "never give out your e-mail" there are Sales and Support people that really don't have a choice.
Not to mention those public e-mail addresses on websites... "support@mycompany.com" that are just absolutely drowned with spam.
SpamAssassin/MimeDefang are a nice cost-effective combination though, and have so far proven to be quite effective.

Yeah, I guess a lot of people missed all the parts about not judging others, loving each other as they are, etc.
Not that the Catholic church really has anything to do with those 13 people.
Hell, Solaris 9 showed up on DVD it's so big now.
Pretty simple, I want to get my copy from a reliable source, not Joe Schmoe that took a copy, added a few Trojans, and then redistributed it.
I didn't register for a while, there was the battle over tracking information, etc. I was here the day they went live though.
Don't forget adding registrations, and then fighting over whether to make them mandatory.
I do remember when only people that had something to say posted.

Simple, All modern servers have at least 2 power supplies, plug each redundant (usually hot-pluggable) power supply into a different UPS.
This is how we handle all of our critical servers.
Now you are protected against Power Failure, UPS Failure, and Power supply failure.
