Frankly you should quit bitching. You're the one who decided to put up with that fiasco for as long as you did. You should have gone outside or read some damn books.
Frankly, I've gotten sick of crap customer service so when a company, be it bank, cell provider, or even a gas station pisses me off, I don't throw my phone but tell them why I won't be using their service anymore. Even when it is just to some 10/hr Community College student, I feel better.
You should see the freebie offers I get addressed TO ME, not just current resident. It's actually funny/sad knowing they are spending the money and not getting me back, no matter how hard they try.
Excuses, excuses. It wasn't THAT bad? Bad is bad. E.T. was crap. Compare it to other games of its day. I feel game reviews are usually shit but this thing would get maybe 2 stars, 30-40%... unless it's IGN, they who perpetuate sympathy points.
You can say "If they'd just done..." till you're blue in the face for all I care. All that jabbering and the game is still shit.
If I'm a little ranty, sorry, but I get tired of sympathy votes.
"...shippping food up from warmer climates is terribly expensive."
Maybe we should reevaluate humanities priorities when it comes to more than just whaling then. That is to say how the modern world seems to enjoy putting (insane) profits before people?
Surely we have really progressed far enough to get over the whole "I want more than you have!" mentality. No? Shame.
This story has been posted for long enough. Where's the "I bow before our new feathered overlords?" Or how about "I'm allergic to down, you insensitive clod!"
That's some all or none thinkin' for ya right there boys.
Personal privacy and "information wants to be free" are two concepts focusing on the same goal but applied in different ways. In both cases the idea is freedom for the individual:
Personal privacy, ie., keeping the Feds from monitoring when I eat, sleep, pee and why I went to a doctor, allows for freedom from persecution, misuse of power, and allows me to live my life making decisions that work best for me.
"Information wants to be free" or at least how I view the term, means having access to empirical knowledge, yes software too, etc., so I can empower myself to live my life making decisions that work best for me.
Something like this *will* be abused. How many "social" programs run by local/state/federal agencies work 100% of the time? Yeah that's right, none. And most barely function at all.
If they really want to be serious about helping mental health patients they should fund free clinics and educational programs and let society do as it will. Of course that would smack closer to socialism. Oo so bad.
Not focus on getting big game companies on board with their cutting edge technology. They need to take the Wii approach to games. Get devs to make casual play games. No way the hardcore crowd will let themselves be subject to vendor lock in on their hardware setups.
Preface: I worked as a service jerkoff for Sprint for over a year and dealt with a lot of dumb customers trying to learn their devices. Now on with the show!
The thing that kicks ass to much about the iPhone is the effort Apple has put in to designing the UI to REMOVE much of complication from doing things. It takes half a dozen key presses do anything other than get to the contacts list or open a text message on most phones.
I'm all about function over form and function is where Apple kicks ass. That said, there is no way I'm going to switch to Cingular/AT&T whatever. Among wireless providers, they can kiss my arse. If Verizon hadn't turned down Apple I might have switched to them. Oh wells. I should say I only stuck with Sprint after leaving because I have a cheap plan with everything included.

They are simply referencing the premise of a show. You know how you just said you fondly remember watching the show as a kid? Perhaps these guys do too. All the while realizing the fact that said show made no excuse for its hooky interpretation of the rule of physics. They solved a physics puzzle with on-hand parts and said "Hey we're like MacGyver!"
It's why Superman can fly and stop trains by standing on the tracks and letting them slam into him with his hands out in front. People don't care about E=mc2 when they want to be entertained. The opposite is also true. No one cares if MacGyver's physics were accurate, it just was like "Whoa all MacGyver and shit!"
My point is this, the only reason this seems to be making any noise in the geek world is because it can be flown in the face of MS. But these systems are buried on their site and unless you know what you're looking for, granny w/o a nerd relative to ask probably will end up with a shiny new MS system anyway. Plus the Ubuntu boxes have no modem and lower end graphics. Since Dell is more like Apple and sells hardware, might that not have more impact on the final price?
If John and Jane Doe want to start a new business they still have a HUNDRED more ways to get Ubuntu PC's than going with Dell.
If granny needs the bare minimum, buy her a used computer and put Ubuntu on it. There no money went to Dell *OR* MS. And you kept someone's old junk out of the dumpster (but to granny it's brand new.)
Don't get me wrong, to an extent this is groovy news. But it seems like a lot of the radio chatter after this was announced is all about pointing and laughing at MS. How many machines are sold through Best Buy/Circuit City/Wal*Mart that DON'T have Linux? It's not like MS is going out of business.
Why is 50 bucks such a big deal? It seems to be a penis size contest. The fact that Dell is actually SHIPPING these systems is the only part that should matter and it's been discussed enough as it is.
And it doesn't even matter that much. It's not like suddenly I'm going to suggest everyone who asks me (which happens a lot) buy an Ubuntu Dell. I will still send them to somewhere like Powernotebooks.com for laptops and a local vendor I have good ties with for desktops and they can buy their own OS, skip dealing with the crapware... Argh
Yeah seeing as how I only have 5 tabs open (3 slashdot, 2 mostly plaintext sites) and Firefox has steadily increased its memory usiage from 170MB to 187MB now for me... Ooooh 188MB keeps going. 189MB. While I write this post. Please add more features.
FWIW I have no extensions or themes installed, either. (190MB)!!
What they should do is stop using Netflix and sign up for Blockbuster. Then Netflix wouldn't be able to afford the attorney's to sue Blockbuster because they would go out of business.
They could implement a moderating system I guess. User-or-lose "smack down" points for a random % of players with characters on that server (ignoring ones that haven't been logged in for more than 15 days). You can tag someone as a douche, if 5 other people tag them within 10-15 minutes they get a warning or temp ban for the rest of that day or 6 hours, whichever is longer, not exceeding 8?
I dunno that was just a 2 minute idea.
However this chick should realize this is an MMO. It isn't going to be filled with your IM friends list. You accept as much each time you let them ding your CC for 14.99.
do you expect them to have megatron turn from a.45 pistol into a 6 story robot in this thing too? if you want the original watch the cartoons.
also, about optimus, they didn't use the flat nosed cab style that optimus was orig based on because it is a smaller style truck and during testing, didn't feel like he had a large enough presence physically, since they worked to have the robots stay true to the vehicles they are based on in robot form
Does that mean 8 million people are soulless idiots? Or that 8 million people just want to fuck off and forget the shit in the lives for short stints could also be made. Who wants to play a "game" and be "entertained" by being "brutally punished." And yes I realize that comment leaves itself open to S&M jokes, but seriously...
20 minutes of travel and 2 hours of monster killing just to retrieve your corpse? Sounds less like creative/intelligent game design and more like swindling lifeless suckers into sticking around and collecting their monthly fee. br.
For the record, I don't currently play WoW and only have played it for a total of 4 months since launch.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation was deficient in its sharing of information with other agencies and departments.
Shock! Dismay! How so little has changed in nearly 50 years. My grandpa has told me a few times that ever since JFK he never felt he could trust the world he thought he knew. He's no conspiracy nut, but it definitely realigned his opinion of politicians and made him realize "Big Brother's" presence even back then.
The citizens of the US haven't become disenfranchised because of G.W.. That started decades ago and is simply accelerating rapidly these days.

I was under the impression some nutjob with a gun was responsible. Viva La Bush! for showing me the light!

Arrested for illegal wiretapping. Sounds like a case of the officer going with what he knows. Shady fuck.
Let's compile one of things China won't censor and save time
What say we band together and start a new Internet? This one is quickly becoming useless.

Build a nuclear rocket, load it with some waste and shoot it at the Sun. Just make sure Nuclear Man doesn't find his way back or we're screwed.
Cause I was curious about this game and thought I might play it since I'm sick of the fantasy MMO's. Now, well yeah. Not feeling it.
Can I have your stuff?

cuz that would only leave 3 guys with lightsabers and the only thing selling this series anymore is Jedi
Keep your filthy, beige PC fingers to yourself.
Someone's memory only goes back about ~10 years, and completely ignores another 20.
