Its just not fair. I'm going to send a couple copies of LotR:TTT to random people in Sierra Leone. They deserve it too. I sure hope that their DVD players can read region 1 DVDs.

I think the actual problem is this:
I pay the full price for the application. That is basically $900 USD. Now, in order to use certain features in this product that I have already payed for I MUST register the product. This isn't like other companies that decide to send you something free or some cheaper offers if you volunteer your personal information, but they demand it of you in order to use something you've already paid for.

If I bought a car, and Toyota told me that I must give them all of my personal information in order to use the brake, otherwise it will be a disabled feature in 5 days, I'd be right pissed about that too.

A few years ago I was attending school to become a systems analyst. During that time we were all required to lease an IBM ThinkPad and soley use PCs throughout the time in class. We learnt how to program in VB and we were all taught the ins and outs of Office. When the opportunities for co-op came around everyone was competing against each other for jobs. Basically we all had the same skills.

I had only one interview and it basically went like this:

President (of the company): "Have you ever used a Mac?"
Me: "Yes I have, for about 15 years."
President: "Can you start on Monday?"
    Me: "Yes I can."

Thanks to the fact that I am extremely proficient on both PCs (Windows or Linux) and Macs I got one of the best co-ops available. It is now my full time employment (I have since graduated) and I would have to be crazy to look for another job.

Just so you know, thanks to a particular "dirty, weather beaten feather" attitude many people have today towards different computing platforms I am the only one of my peers that can travel and the drop of a hat (just got back from Alaska), afford basically anything I want and spend the majority of the time having fun at work instead of trying to sell cellphones at the local mall.

Don't ever think that knowledge, in any respect, is a waste and never advise someone that only their skills on only the most popluar mediums will get them through life.

The MPAA profits from you seeing it in theatres or renting it for home. The only group that get really killed with the higher demand for renting is the cinemas.

The file sharing probably hurts the retailers the most. You can download a movie or rent it for 4 bucks. But why would you pay $20 - 30 for that same movie? That is why DVD extras will become so important.

Gn naming convention is for all AIM (Apple, IBM, Motorola) chips. the 60n series being the first generation and the 75nn series being the 4th generation (get it? G4).

Apple can call this chip the G5 if they want to, or they can give it a whole new name. Motorola doesn't "own" anything.

Somebody has to back the project. They have to pay for the research.

    Compare the two:

    Conventional Solution
