  3. Owner Speaking with mods on Car Hacks & Mods for Dummies · · Score: 1

A modded WRX is amazing car to drive. I am now pushing about 40 more Horse power over the stock vehicle. Other things Mods are not only cosmetic or performance in the means of speed it's also menas all around handling or maybe sound systems the list goes on.

These sites offer a wealth of reviews and installation practices to help people choose what they feel comfortable doing as much as what specialists to go to for what type of upgrade. Tires, yes they need to be rotated and changed, but putting some M2 or M3 Dunlop winter tires on are as much of a mod as putting 3/16 inch hose connector in the boost line to the pressure solnoid. Reprogramming the ECU does take expertise and yes the engine life will probably decrease, but when your pushing 200k for most vehicles with no problem I think a 10k to 50k of miles is not going to make much of difference. When refer to ECU programming I am speaking of the ART in it's self not the devices that do it those are made so just any one can use them for the most part with some basic knowledge.

Another aspect of "Mods" keep in mind efficiency. When I run my car between long distances I run my car in a economy mode give the WRX between 28 to 32 mpg which under my normal driving never happened.

I hope this bring another light on this topic from owner with no problems and have been running "modded" for over 10,000 miles.

Today's new age China is developing in leaps in bounds from what I have been seeing. To think china does not have ideas that are as good or better then the rest of the world and we should not adopt would be asinine to say. I am not saying everything that come out of china is grand. but when you have population like them selves one needs to think about where to adopt from. I am really thinking as time goes on China is going to be huge force to be reckoned with.

I am not a huge advocate of SUN servers, but don't get me wrong the ones we have sure have far larger up times and online part replacement then our x86 machines. Personaly I would agree that HP RP class and Superdome with OLR support and IBM pSeries Unix Boxes I would more so promote. Just giving to the defense that x86 is not there yet. I do see future for x86, but I don't think it's here yet for that kinda uptime.

I don't know what type of enterprise you run over there but last time I checked thousands if not hundreds of transacatiions depend on uptime. Removing CPU from a system or any failed compent is very important. I realise you can do clustering but transcatins can be lost and users disocneted this is also a headache for boht the ut staff and the users. Just becuase intel boxes seem to be cheaper i would pay the price to see them with these options. hard to squeeze five 9s out of a x86 machine.
