This is an arguable item on many levels. I believe that because we can make a hurricane move away from the coast we should. An even better notion would be to calm the storm a bit and let it hit with a lessened force (this was actually tried in the 1970s with devestating effects, so perhaps trial and error should not occur near populous coasts).
And for anyone who says we shoudl NOT modify the weather, I have a wakeup call for you. Your argument is weak because humans are always going to adapt their environment to suit their needs. This is human nature and it flies in the face of our ability to survive. Our natural instinct is to change our world in order to suit our needs, from changing arid land to farmland or building a shelter so that the rain does not soak us while we sleep. We are always going to seek ways to make our environment more appealing to us and this is just the next logical step in that direction.
This is an excellent book for anyone who wants to know what Iran-Contra was all about. The meat is not in narcotics and guns, that's just the sizzle. The reall meat is the HUGE FRAUD that was perpetrated and the billions of dollars that were looted from corporations and taxpayers around the world. Truly a must-read for anyone who wants to know why the Bush Cabal is so eager to wage WWIII.
I'm pretty sure I was the first to preview this movie, I collected scraps from the Warner Bros cutting room floor and was able to piece together an in-depth review:
I think you may be on to something here. Only potential problem is that the billboard company will probably charge some exorbitant rental fee or may seek to enter the market themselves and royally screw it up by failing at it and leaving a black eye on the idea.
The major benefit of the php.net manual is the comments. I've gotten a lot of "extra" info from them that weren't aparent through the given examples. I've also contributed my own notes (and still get emails from time to time thanking me for an obscure problem with php/apache/slackware).
As for requiring DSL, you must be joking... the pages are text, they load, you read... it's not like the manual is in streaming video format or anything. Jeez!
*nuke blows, code bloat and feature creep gone horribly awry. You can't even rip them apart and fix it to your site's needs without hours of headaches and eventually deciding to roll your own.
IMHO, this is a victory for AOL users, spammers are going to scramble now to delete %@aol.com from their databases, but that's about the extent of it.
Once a backbone provider (like Level3 or %Bell%) gets up the gusto to throw this kind of lawsuit at spammers (and offshore spammers), we may actually see some reprieve.
Until then... "So easy to avoid spam, no wonder it's number one!"

He wrote half the speeches for Nixon, a Republican and still has half the mind to blow our current economic guides out of the water on this one. I agree with him wholeheartedly that we are on the path to our own destruction because our current philosophy DOES NOT WORK.
He sounds like he's preaching a lot of the same ideals as Ayn Rand.
The U.S. private citizen is the most powerful, most respected and most feared ground force in the world. At it's core, the success lives and dies on every citizen's ability to think and to take decisive action -- and to own a firearm that functions properly (well regulated).
Fundamentally, no one except private citizens are willing to protect all that the U.S. Constitution stands for. Each citizen must defend this to his/her last breath with Knowledge, Truth, Respect, Honor, Integrity and Courage.
To accomplish this daunting task citizens must invest in firearms that rival government military, recruiting fellow citizens who are strong in mind, body, and soul, and who understand the power of teamwork.
The citizen equips himself to make a significant difference, to deter foreign invasion, and to enforce the U.S. Constitution on domestic soil.
State of Emergency. It royally sucked too, even on a shoot-em-up/rack up body counts level of entertainment.

I got nailed on this too, only the truck was a diesel, and the closest diesel station was 10 miles away (.53/mi x 20 = $10.60 OUCH). And the truck SUCKED it down like there was no tomorrow.

this could take a while
the ecology of weather is beyond our capabilities, it is folly to conceive attempting to alter it
And it will remain so if we choose to remain ignorant about our abilities.
If you can get that thing to 13K feet with a sizable load of silver iodide, you let me know :)

We need more Timothy McVeighs.
You mean we need more lies, misrepresentations and coverups? Or do we need more of the truth?
Whoo ees thees beeg borotha you speak ov? I no see eeny beeg barotha. You must meestaken.
That WTC submission to CNN listed as your website has me laughing hard. Thanks.
...nah, I'm just going to be complacent about it like everyone else and keep buying CDs. Hooray for unchecked capitalism and industry lobbying.

Now I know where to go when Windows XP SP2 comes out and won't install. :)
Thanks for the heads up.
