that Nordic chap who kept his daughter in his basement as a sex slave
Are you thinking of Josef Fritzl from Austria? Yes, Austria is in Europe, as is the Nordic countries. But no, Austria is not a Nordic country, more central European.
So, basically not different than coding for the normal computer... Different display sizes, different hardware, different everything.
Also, it's not just the Android platform, it's the same for every programmable handset. Coding for Windows Mobile? Just the same. Coding for Symbian? Just the same. Coding Java midlets? Just the same.
Talking about MUI reminds me of when I started working with C# and WPF a year and half ago, namely that WPF is very similar to MUI. Both was declarative, has nested widgets, and are very extendable with custom widgets.
I took a look at the video in TFA, and for a game named "dirt" the cars looked very clean... I mean, in the video the cars drive on a dirt track (with a nice dirt cloud after the cars), with small pools of water, and still the cars looks like they just have been thorough clean and waxing session. While using so much extra power for more realistic flags, crowds and water, which you have no time to see really, why not use some of that to make the cars, which you do see quite a lot, become dirty?
Well yeah, but you probably have less money than the pub does, so going after the pub is better.
Reminds me of a Bllom County strip where Steve Dallas has been beaten by Sean Penn for taking a photo of him. Steve won't sue Sean, because Sean might come an beat him up again. He won't sue Opus (even if it was his fault), because he doesn't have any money. So sue the (wealthy) camera manufacturer for not having a warning label on the camera.
Ah, but "a million to one" chance always succeeds! But it needs to exactly a million to one... A million and one to one chance, or a 999999 to one chance will fail.
Talking about Gentoo, is it still a good source-based distro? Anyone who sees this knows? I used to run Gentoo, changed to Ubuntu a couple of years ago (upgrade to 9.10 worked fine for me btw), but am thinking of changing back to Gentoo or maybe try another source-based distro. I really need to get all cycles I can get out of my Core i7!;)
Now if you want to watch a really bad movie, locate a copy of Starship Troopers 2. And while I was researching this post, I discovered that there is a Starship Troopers 3. God help us all.
Actually the third one is quite good. At least compared to the second movie which was so utterly bad it can't be described.
People are dropping newspaper subscriptions because there is nothing in them anymore that can't be read online.
Yes, but how do you find it online? How many sites do you need to visit to find all news printed in the paper? How many have a computer on their dining table to look at while eating breakfast?
I have a newspaper subscription, and enjoy reading it while eating breakfast. It's nice to have all news in one place, and if there is something intresting I can specifically search for just that on my computer later.
Not to long ago they didn't have any capacity to build any nuclear facilities, now they have plenty of capacity. If they managed to get from zero to nuclear power in such a short term, why can't they get their oil industry back on line again? I doubt everyone knowing anything about oil refinery have fled the country, or died in the war with Iraq.
Well, you can move to the Swedish city of Malmö, where it was just decided to allow women being topless in public swimming pools. See here for more info.

Land of beautifull nature, Peter Jackson and crazy stuntmen.
If you count copying as innovation. Zyngas two most popular games (Mafia Wars and FarmVille) are both copies of other games (Mob Wars and Farm Town.)
Don't worry, they will be back a couple of weeks after new year!
If they wanted to compete with Spotify, wouldn't the Spotify-for-iPhone application have been removed already?
Yes of course MS will let Yahoo continue using FreeBSD. They did let Hotmail continue using their FreeBSD servers when they bought it, didn't they?

Thank god I still can play The Great Giana Sisters. That was really an original game!

Not to mention that China would be pretty upset. Especially if nuclear weapons was used.
Yeah, I saw a movie about this once. Ice Age 2 I think it was called...
Actually the third one is quite good. At least compared to the second movie which was so utterly bad it can't be described.
Well, sure they are making money, but not as much as they used to. The big news today is that their profit is halved compared to last year.

If they can build an atomic power plant (as they claim it is), they sure as hell can build an oil refinery!
Just like the first Amiga prototype. Basically just wirewrapped boards cabled together. Actually used at a trade-show, but hidden under a table.
Ah, the standard Microsoft behavior.
Maybe he can go back and improve AberMUD again?

Q: Have you ever had a Pepsi?
A: Yes.
Pepsi announcement: 100% of workers on Coca-Cola bottling plant drinks Pepsi!
