If you have the bucks, aim a parabolic antenna at the wall (from the inside) You should be able to get an old dish network / primestar dish and get it to be a nice antenna. Also try switching down to 802.11b, see how that improves the signal. . .
Well, congress critters and the such have money that they raised up to now, millions upon millions, and the new guys can't get those millions and millions because of the law. At least that is how it is supposed to work.
That said, the law is closer to musical chairs than actually any sort of solution, there are enough loopholes for the same exact thing to be happening by the end of the next president's term. It does allow for a lot more groups to get involved, which might be good (factions of x side can each push their own side of the issue) but I still think 50 groups paying a politician $1000 each to push some sort of issue will have the same kind of voice as 1 group giving $50,000. Or maybe not? I suppose it depends on whether the politician has the time to sit down and get group a's views and not just take a brief glance at a someone's website and drop them into "for x" / "against x" groups.
In the last couple of years, there has been a greater push to get "tough on crime" (or appear so, but we won't split hairs here, will we?) which basically means "put more people in prison than we did last year"
Because of this push and the fact that various law enforcement / "civil defense" agencies aren't really "up with the times" (sheer incompetence and the apparant inability to convict someone in a "regular court" might be a better way of stating this), in order to keep up - these same folks HAVE to turn to technology and to to push through poorly written legislation (or interpret it in interesting ways)in order to make their "quota".
Dunno, I probably have no credibility, but my belief that law enforcement is embracing all these new things is not because they are new, but they are too incompetent to keep up their statistics using traditional means./shrug
So not only do people see me "talking to myself" (earpiece) but also me jerking my phone rapidly and waving my arms. I just need a 3 way call with 2 shrinks to be given one of those nifty white jackets with the long sleeves. "I'm not crazy. . . Yes I am. . . Shut up, all of you."
Well, with a good digital camera you can control the settings and set everything to manual - so you *have* to set up everything, lighting, aperture, shutter speed and the such. That said, most digital cameras under $500 are nearly worthless to anyone who wants to take good pics, but if you're going to spend $250 on a lower end film camera, spending $250 more becomes attractive if you consider the amount of money saved on film and developing over the course of a year. Costco here charges $4 to develop and even at a buck a roll, thats still $5 for 24 pics. Sure, its 50 rolls, but if you are starting out, 50 rolls in a year isn't a lot of film to be using.
And you could take a good film camera and just put on "auto-everything", but that would also defeat the purpose of learning - unfortunately most cheap digital cameras do just that, and don't let you control any features.
Granted film makes you think more about actually taking the shot, but digital lets you control that, bracket each shot by a fstop or two and play around a lot more, and not worry so much about what to discard and what to keep. If only for the ability to (and get in the habit of) bracket every still you take, I think digital is the way to go for a budding photographer. . .
but you should really take a look at it - developing and film will be free and if you get a actual "good" digital camera, it will be worth it. Why? Well, the more shots you take, the easier it will be for you to get good at it, with digital, you can take your camera with you everywhere and snap away untill you run out of room on cheap cf cards. More shots = more experience - you can try and learn what you want to from a book, but the number of times you press the shutter is really the important thing.
Pick up something old / used like a canon d30 / d60 or one of their newer models like a 1DS if you have the money - real lenses, exceptional picture quality and most of all, you can manually adjust for fstops and the such. Also, most camera append metadata to the photo files, such as fstop, focus distance, shutter speed, and the all important date and time.
I think the reasoning is that if you have $60k to blow on a car, you probably have the money to pay for a over priced radio / alarm / whatever. Not entirely illogical.
Certain companies cough HP cough who use email support have a list of about 15 names that can be used, although no guidelines exist as to whether you have to stick with a name, etc. .. Someone gave me a copy of the document, extremely funny.
If you complain to Toshiba however, they put you on a fucking mailing list to receive their catalog and don't even have the common fucking courtesy to write a "we are concerned but are doing nothing" letter. True story.
oh no. You mentioned the bible. You're infringing on my non-denominational beliefs that may exist, may not exist or can not be determined!! I demand you have your post removed.
this has your idea beat a bit ;)

Microwaves.
Much like the 1200W version you have in your kitchen.
Idiot.
(a 200mW wifi card is considered strong to the uninitiated)
1,6,11 don't interfere with each other at all.
Other combinations would.
"Channels" as in "lets hop to this frequency now"

yeah, they support removing viruses - fdisk, format, reinstall.
.
Whether one can consider that "support" or "rolling" is a different question, but hey. .
it would be pretty funny to see these things going in circles after someone shot out a tire on them . . .

If you came up with this by yourself, go watch some Chomsky lectures.

Corrolary 1: Holding a ticking / screaming hdd to the phone works wonders, even if it isn't the right one.
well, there isn' that much plot to begin with in some of these films. I'm afraid that this might not work too well.
it's not like people who download screeners have money to go to the theater . . .
yeah, apparantly they want federal money for their losses in the post 9-11 era. . . /sarcastic and bitter.
