British uses an 's.' Because you have them both the same, I assume you made a simple typo, just like (I suspect) the summary did.

But, if having a chance, however small, of meeting a celebrity (whoever that may be) will encourage one schmuck of a parent to bring their kids out and if even one of those kids learns something then it'll all be worth it. No matter how silly or hyped up this might seem to you, this event can only be a Good Thing (tm) in my opinion.

  8. Re:In Perspective on Saturn's Super Storm · · Score: 3, Insightful

When you look at these photos, there is one aspect that is lost due to the size of the planet itself. At 3000 miles wide, this "storm" is about 40% the diameter of the Earth.

Diameter of the Earth is a nearly meaningless comparison. Not only is the Earth not a perfect sphere, but also most people will have a hard time gauging the spatial reference to something more meaningful, such as "about the size of the entire continent of North America."

Because it is part of the story. The story is that US Tax payer's money is going to purchase young BOYS for the male warlords. There is no instance of the buying of young GIRLS in the story. Thus the homosexual remark.

In looking through the story I saw nothing that says that the boys are homosexuals. They seem to simply be sold and raped as slaves. In fact, I don't really see a lot of evidence that the 'masters' are really homosexuals. Even some of them do it simply as a means to 'be competitive' or perhaps not get killed themselves. I guess the really high-level ones might be homosexual, but the one page I was able to read didn't talk about it that much.
