  1. Re:.NET at a standstill on Ballmer: 'We'll catch Google' · · Score: 1

Platform: .NET - Works on Windows only server
JAVA - Works on anything with 32 bit processor

Overhead: .NET - Large processor and memory overhead
JAVA - Moderate processor and memory overhead (Very configurable)

Developement: .NET (VB) - Easy, but limited abilites. .NET (C#) - Not as easy, but a tone of abilities
JAVA - Not as easy, but a tone of abilities

Conclusion: If developement time is your primary concern then .NET is your best canidate. For everything else there is JAVA.*

    * This is my personal comparison between .NET and JAVA. I hate .NET because almost everything I coded in VB and C++ was no long considered 'valid' becuase I couldn't dump it into .NET and get a new bunch of binaries over night. Anything I write in .NET has a memory leak from the poorly writen .NET virtual machine.

    OS rely on OpenBoot features

I can't find the statement, but I know that Apple stated when OSX came out they would support and use OpenBoot for all future products. As I said in a post in an older article was that someone could take PearPC's OpenBoot function and emulation ability and emulate an x86 structure on an x86.

TI had a calculator that was an updated version of an older version. I believe both the new and old version used a 68000 series chipset. The new version was 800% faster then the old one, but wasn't an exact derivative of the previous incarnation. Old applications couldn't execute on the new structure. To make the old applications work someone came out with an emulator. The emulator only took up a few K of memory and only used about 1-2% of the processor to emulate the older architecture.

The moral of the story is that if you emulate a native platform on a native system you get almost fast emulation with little performance hit.

I think Disney is going to become a company like Ohio Art: They will do one thing right (Etch-a-sketch/the mouse) and all other projects will fade to obscurity (Betty Spaghetti/Home on the Range.

What are the three main things Disney has been doing lately?
    - Re-Making everything: Toy Story 3, Herby, Atlantis 2, Cinderella 2, ect.
    - Animated feature that have no originality - Home on the Range comes to mind.
    - Improperly marketing movies - Treasure Planet was great but it should have been marketed towards teens and not little kids. And I think they only put 4 million into marketing Treasure Planet in the US. While Home on the Range was plastered everywhere and had to have at least $100 million marketing budget.

What has made Pixar so much better then Disney films? Is it the 3D? Not really, its just another way to get a story out. But Pixar does have original stories(Toy Story) with identifiable characters (Finding Nemo) that both adults (Mr. Incredible, Elasta Girl) and kids(Nemo, Dash, and Violet for the teens) can identify with.

Exodus 20:3-5 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness [of any thing] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth: thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation] of them that hate me.(The Ten Commandments)
Exodus 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
Deuteronomy 18:10-11 There shall not be found among you [any one] that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, [or] that useth divination, [or] an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

Beyond the Book of Law there is:
1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion [is as] the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness [is as] iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from [being] king.
2 Chronicles 33:6 And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

Before you start piling on, why not at least understand their mindset.
