Well I DO think that many people are upset over you spying on other countries such as ours. The sun does not revolve around the US, as strange as it may seem.
Isn't it interesting how you americans start to actively use the term "global warming" whereas just a couple of months ago nobody in the US (it seemed...) had any idea of what that meant?
I don't object. It was time. I just find it funny.
W800i. Looks so so (the color is not everyone's taste), but works very well. Has some minor SW flaws (when you listen to ringtones they are very low, but they are loud enough when the phone actually rings), but otherwise is really nice. And the 2MPixel camera lacks a zoom (I don't know of any phone that has a zoom:-) but is otherwise of good quality.
I've had a 610, 630, 750, and the 800 is the nicest one, has the best camera by far, nice menu, good display (quite a good resolution) and has the best quality keyboard (not this rubber stuff, but real hard plastic keys).
The 800 has an MP3 player inside. I don't use it at all, but you can spare the iPod I guess.
It has an SD slot, and it comes with a 512MB card. Ten hours of music or about 1500 images.
I think that most posters missed the point. meroo wants to build an energy saving house that has hightech components. For warm water, for the heating in general, for electricity he has to find intelligent hightech solutions! And if his computing needs are big he just increases the electricity generation in the house. Be it solar or wind power, what he needs is a general concept I think. And I am sure he knows that.
So saying that he can't install powerful computing gear misses the point. Of course you can, meroo. Of course you should try to buy reasonable stuff, but in the end you need to have maybe one kW available for computing, at least during peak hours. That's perfectly doable with solar and batteries. And if later on this proves to be not sufficient, just scale up.
Heating of a five room house here in Switzerland easily consumes 8000 kWh of energy a year. In that light the power consumed by the computing equipment gets less important. 8000kWh a year is almost one kW of power, but all around the clock!
The easiest way to save energy in Switzerland is to insulate the house. This really cuts on heating energy needed. Buying a processor which uses 30 instead of 60W is peanuts, compared to that.
In general I really am fond of the rising interest in energy saving in the US.
France is a democracy. People have diverging views. It's next to unbelievable how little many Americans know about France (and Europe in general). And it's even more unbelievable that they are proud of it, too.
This is cool. I guess you did not learn how much Windows sucks while making the MCSE, you knew that before you started. This makes it even more impressive that you finished your Microsoft certs.
Sorry, then I misunderstood you. I thought you were working on the destruction of our liberties ("I am a small cog in the machine helping it to become a reality").
Oh, Slashdot moderators are an unpolitical bunch of people, it seems, and posts that are critical towards the US of A tend to be marked as Troll or Flame.
Does not make them wrong. It just is unfair as it demolishes Karma of serious and earnest people.
I completely agree. After all, most companies and countries have agreed that they have to reduce on greenhouse gases, they have to invest in alternative energies, they have to care for the social cost of their business much, much more. This is what makes me and many other people so optimistic about the future. The main problems are solved or at least there are plans underway to solve them.
Let's look forward to a bright future, which is good for both corporations and small people. A future which has education for all people, enough food for all, a clean environment for all and hope and health for all.
Well, Myridon, when I have to wait for the light to become green, normally I wait for 20 to 40 seconds. It makes very much sense to stop the engine, because according to my information, stopping and restarting a motor for more than four or five seconds is already enough to make you produce less noxious gases (CO2 for sure...).
It becomes more complicated if you examine what gases the motor produces when it's cold, so letting it run in these cases might be a good idea. However, as you said, stopping the engine at a train barrier almost always makes sense.
That's right, I recall that, too. It was even simple. Can't remember how it was done though.

My name is adsjhasduh, you insensitive clod!
Nigger? Way simpler. Nigger comes from negro which simply means black in spanish. Niger means black in latin.
Don't go looking so far...

> Friends don't help friends install MS junk.
Offtopic, but unfortunately my friends just don't get it that me installing MS stuff on their mills is bad for them.

Who told you that? Did you ask... the oracle?
You must be a Troll

Yeah, maybe in socialist US. Not in capitalist Switzerland. My wife started working 1 month after the birth.
I do sometimes, when my wife has to work. That's quite normal, I think.

I had got that. Agreed. It's not only a semantic error, it's really a syntactical one, i.e. much more fundamental.
> One BIG reason why US refuses is because the UN doesn't have a working LEGAL system.
That's right. The US legal system instead works.
Oh yes.
The wireless commando is coming after you.
Sorry, then I misunderstood you. I thought you were working on the destruction of our liberties ("I am a small cog in the machine helping it to become a reality").
Are you!
Tell us please!
You're right. But now shut up.

And people like you certainly don't make it easier for us Europeans to like you.

At least if they are Christians.
Otherwise let's bomb them back to the stone age.
Those who look for a new retina simply CAN not look further...
Everyone knows that size does not matter.
That's OT? Oh, sorry...
