  1. Between commercials and stuff like this on Will Microsoft Dis-Kinect Freeloading TV Viewers? · · Score: 1

is the reason I will never stop pirating.

I started pirating and "cut the cable" back in 1996 mainly through newsgroups and ftp sites with an old laptop connected to television.
which evolved now to torrents with rss feed downloaders, external usb hard drives and a Western Digital WD TV Live set top box.
Course I still use newsgroups since my VDSL provider still offers free newsgroup access.

I use adblocking software for blocking ads, popups, commercials on the net, I have spam blockers on my email, but when people want spam blocking for television people get all in an uproar.

Well spam is spam is spam, regardless which form it takes (email, web, television) and I got fed up with it.

I'll never go back to paid television, I'll pirate till they lock me up. I'm not even worried since my town is very pirate friendly so to speak

not only do we have vdsl in town, there is cable internet but most people here refuse to use it due to caps and price, but we also have free wifi internet thanks to city utilities, it's an extra 3.99 on our utility bill that covers power, trash, water and wifi internet all on 1 bill and the town placed wifi hotspots all over town on the local power poles and such, (Tiny town btw only 2 red lights)

So in fact it's pretty much anonymous free wifi but the town wifi is only speeds around 2 to 3 megabit down, 384k up.

my personal VDSL service is 20 megabit down, 1 megabit up.

So usually when I'm pirating a ton of shit I usually hop on the city free wifi which there are no usernames anyone driving through town can just hop on it. And yea it's a time bomb of legality waiting to go off probably, but it's worked nice as a free back up around town for last 4 years.

It's also the reason I only bought an Ipod Touch. Since I use skype on the town's free wifi so anywhere in town I have skype on my ipod tough for making calls :)

as long as they keep doing shit like this it will only keep pushing folks to pirate, as for sports there are already live streaming sites that stream sports events at 720p and disappear as soon as the event is over.

the sporting event ip streams popup on the certain forums when the events are live, and television shows popup on kat.ph, h33t.com, thepiratebay.se usually 10 to 20 mins after they air anyhow and are automatically downloaded via RSS downloader.

I hope China gets tired and fed up with us not paying our debts and gives this country a major black eye, perhaps an air strike over D.C.

I would never use comcast ever, due to bandwidth caps which I go over all the time using my DUmeter app to calculate monthly useage.

but my landline provider is who i have adsl2+ which why upgraded to 2 years ago so I have 12 megabit down / 1 megabit up, with full unlimited package for 69.99/mo which is my landline phone + 12 megabit dsl connection.

Some months I'm usually around 250-300 gigs /month but last month I was 412g total up/down traffic for month.

so far the ISP doesn't care, there's no cap.

Of course shit could change anytime but I won't budge off local landline DSL since they keep promising to stay unlimited.

I still use newsgroups and torrents nowdays and a Western Digitial WDTV Live plus with a usb wifi adapter plugged in to stream downloaded movies off a shared drive on my lan to my tv.

I pirate television due to spam, I hate a 30 minute television show is streatched to 1 hour due to commercials every 3 minutes and they play so many commercials they actually have to remind you what you were watching "will be right back with xxx show in a few minutes"

got fed up with spam in 96 so cut cable and pirated ever since, where I live we have 1 local theater within a 50 mile radius and ticket prices are 13.50 for 1 person, if I take my family that's just over 40 bucks in tickets only plus another 10-20 for popcorn/soda FUCK THAT.

I pirate movies so I can enjoy them at home with my family on my surround sound (7.1 bluray rips ftw on http://kat.ph/ and can actually save money.

Why would I pay the same price to buy the movie on Bluray to go see it in a stinky, noisy, stuffy theater? movies are to be enjoyed at home alone or with loved ones, not in a gymnasium full of strangers lip smacking, gorging, laughing, glow of phone texting, etc.

Movie theaters in the 60, 70's and even 80's were a social experience, people dressed up in suits and ties, women in fancy dresses to go out to the movies, it became a social event almost as going to a church in a way. But the 90's then 2000's came long that made home theater systems as good or better quality than theaters and we now have it how it's supposed to be, movies should be an intimate enjoyment, an escape from reality which is better at home or with loved ones than a gym full of noisy, nasty, strangers.

    so I'll pirate till I die :)

but here in the U.S. all store bought vegetables come from Monsanto.

All Monsanto backed crops (ALL U.S. commercial crops) are genetically modified and labeled "Round up Ready"

The way they made these plants round up ready was they used porcine genes (pig genes) spliced into the seeds so the plants resist Round Up.

Monsanto owns hundreds of slaughter houses around the U.S. and over 20 Horse slaughter plants in Mexico for genetic testing and manipulation of all Monsanto agriculture in the U.S.

So if you are a vegetarian and you bought your corn, green beans, baked beans, rice, tomatoes, etc in a U.S. grocery store, then you have eaten meat based products since they are all come from monsanto round up ready seed which was created using porcine dna to modify the seeds.
