My original order was placed in July 5th, 2012 and I just got it on December 1, 2012 in the mail. I live in Georgia, US so I knew it would take a while to get "across the pond" but was a let down seeing it was made in china when they promised revision 2 boards were made in UK and they clearly are not.
I bought an Acer 5536-5142 laptop on sale for 325 bucks at newegg 2 halloweens ago on a halloween special sale. It's an amd 2.10ghz with 4 gigs ram windows 7 on it and runs great after I removed all the bloatware.
Anyhow ive had the laptop now actually going on 3 years and acer update has always come back with 0 updates. Even if I didnt run windows update for 7 months in one stretch and video card, web cam driver and all were out of date.
acer update still reported 0 updates.
And reading forums everyone that owns the 5000 series acer laptops the acer update program has NEVER once showed an update ever. Even when there were updates on acer's website available.
it's broke program and definitely doesn't work with their laptops, maybe it works for their netbooks but not the laptops
My first intel was an old Packard Bell "Legend 70 CD Supreme" Pentium 75mhz cpu / 8 meg ram upgraded to 16 meg ram / 4x cdrom and Windows 3.11 upgraded to windows 95 when it released. It eventually got gutted and became a slackware linux box router.
From then on it was either Cyrix or AMD systems then Cyrix disappeared. And all my gaming machines have always been AMD, my last AMD was build in 2005/6ish I forget but was AMD x64 dual core 4600 / 4 gigs ram / EVGA Geforce 9800 GTX+ superclocked edition... Great gaming box but it was getting time to upgrade.
So last month I decided I'd finally try Intel out, I had saved a bit of cash to throw into a "Enthusiast" Intel gaming machine, to play some of those nice DirectX10/11 games that I couldn't play on my AMD system since I was still using Windows XP on it and never got around to getting 7, even though I had Win7 on my laptop.
So my new system is an Intel Core i7-3820 / 32 gigs limited edition intel XMP Patriot ram / 240 gig SSD windows drive / 1.5 TB western digital caviar black data drive/ EVGA Geforce 670 FTW edition superclocked
So hoping it gives me at least 3 to 4 years of gaming "Hopefully"
but now after finally switching to Intel from being hardcore AMD gamer for years kinda pisses ya off to read stories like this, I hate how everyone is all "The desktop is dying" and "Gaming desktops won't exist much longer"
I hate trying to game on a console/television setup or game on a smartphone or tablet.
I like gaming on a desktop... everything else just don't feel natural, the last console I owned was a PS2 and I really never got into it, I HATED gaming on television. And even though yea I could plug it into a LCD or whatnot it just didn't have the same feel as sitting at a gaming desktop, or the power.
Doesn't mean I've killed a killed, raped, and videotaped the aftermath of a kid.
I also have the old crappy anarchist cookbook, a ebook on better living through chemistry
as well as googling how to assassinate the president and get away with it.
also how to murder my wife in a dolcett fashion, or use ammonium nitrate and methanol to visibly protest against the city hall the raising of property taxes...
Hell even trying to run Pico on the Pi bogs it down and VI brings it to it's knees as bad as a forkbomb.
so far the best way is to edit code/configs/scripts on a local desktop/laptop then ftp it them over, cause even basic text editors bring the PI to a slow crawl.
I sorta wish I didn't waste the money on it
my wrt54GL router "seems" to be faster and more responsive in shell than the PI
I was gonna use the PI as a network storage device, chaining 3 or 4 external usb hard drives to it via powered usb hub, and it worked and all but the PI is soooooo slow the transfer rate would dip down to 5K-10K/sec over LAN when trying to save a large file or copy a large file from it to desktop.
Yea personally I use newsgroups (My local telco VDSL service still offers free newsgroup access with up to 5 simultaneous downloads at once), I use torrents, kat.ph/thepiratebay.se/h33t.com or other private/pseudo-private sites.
And for some smaller stuff like ebooks, some latest and greatest apps that haven't hit torrent yet, I can find them on Tor darknet on a.onion site usually a day or 2 before they wind up on the mass torrent sites.
newsgroups also have some rare shit you wont get on torrents like on demand stuff, for example shitty howard stern tv on demand uploads to newsgroups within 5 to 10 minutes after it airs on tv. But rarely latest episodes ever show up on torrent.
So that's what newsgroups is good for, mainly for fast access to on demand, pay per view stuff within minutes after it airs.
I liked megaupload when I'd use the ICE script from icefilms.info to stream movies in the browser using divx plugin or vlc media player which I mainly used for television shows and used torrents for HD movies.
but now I just have my RSS downloader setup on my torrent program to auto download my favorite shows to my media server then I stream them over the LAN to my Western Digital WDTV Live set top box on my television.
I've had it when it was plain adsl at 1.5 megabit down in the late 90's all the way to now vdsl with 20 megabit down. They still offer newsgroup access free with all their accounts, and ability to generate emails at will up to 20, then you can delete ones not needed and recreate sorta as a anonymous email service of their own.
every year or so they claim on dslreports forum that they'll never keep logs more than 1 week for legal purposes mainly to do with child porn, and they so far have not responded to letters from antip2p companies like mediadefender, claiming they get trashed.
Now things may change in future, but there is no bandwidth cap and it's truly unlimited, I know according to DUmeter, adding upload/download together I used 418 gigs last month and average 317 to 422 gigs per month, most of it is torrent traffic seeding and downloading. And never got a letter or even bothered.
I always tell people stay the fuck away from cable and big name dsl like at&t and stick to local telco services, local landline small companies most all offer dsl2plus to vdsl services and are much much better than cable.
No bandwidth caps, no filtering, and no bother, true freedom at least for now.
I've been pirating since 1996 though when I cut my cable tv off. Starting on newsgroups and IRC old "fserve" bots for television episodes and movies.
Now it's torrent RSS downloader on the seedbox connected to my western digital WDTV Live plus box on my tv.
I definitely support local telco's cause most ignore the bullshit of the big isp's, hell my isp even sent out letters letting customers know they will not be taking part in this "6 strike" shit and marketed as if it was a cable only problem so it keeps their customers from wanting to go to cable.
SMF2WP - A Wordpress plugin that ties the 2 together. ---------- SMF2WP is a simple one way bridge from Simple Machine Forum (v2.0.1 tested) to WordPress (v3.2.1 tested). This means, this one uses databases of SMF Forum and sync to WP database every time a user performs log-in action in both WP and SMF. To get this working, it is highly recommended that you have a fresh install of WordPress with an install of SMF. Also, WP and SMF must be installed in same domain, and should not be being accessed through a subdomain, though it still work. For example, if your website contains of WordPress for news and SMF for forum, if your news is mydomain.com, then your forums should be somewhere like mydomain.com/forum.
This plugin will do these following tasks:
If a user log in WP, then that user will be logged in SMF using SMF2API.
If a user logout WP, then that user will be logged out SMF using SMF2API.
If a user log in SMF, will be logged in WP as well.
If a user log out SMF, will be loged out WP as well. -------
what I use and with the GIGANTIC plugin support it's amazing. I never get spam problems, I have SMF set to use my wordpress logins for authentication, which means my wordpress uses Akismet to block spam therefore SMF uses it also since SMF users are set to be same as my wordpress users. Uses same database for logins.
Which sounds like what you are looking for, users log in to your website means they are logged in to both wordpress and smf with 1 account automatically.
SMF forums also have "bulletproof security" plugins similar to Wordpress that monitor sql threats, use 301 redirects and htaccess to shore up any problems it may think can happen.
course nothing is 100% but I love SMF and it's huge versatility, offers more plugins and themes than other stuff like phpbb/vbulletin. And my opinion is more secure when merged with sites like wordpress using Akismet for accounts.
even though the new law states expired ID's would be accepted, the moron teens from the highschool aren't abiding by the law and only using valid id's which is why WCTV 6 news got involved and state voter registrar is mailing ballots to those people turned away.
This was posted on our local news channel website and just reported on television
as i posted in another reply I did contact WCTV news and they are doing a report for tonight on it, many people have been turned away for not having valid ID. even though many of us are disabled and unable to drive.
the people working the voting booths are volunteers from the local highschool with no real oversight on them.
there are printouts on wall stating valid photo id required to vote.
channel 6 news wctv claims to be coming to do a report.
I called 800 number and they are mailing me a ballot, even though it wont matter if someone gets 270 electorals tonight on the tv tally it will pretty much be over, but ill mail in my ballot when I get it.
They have teenagers running the voting areas, highschool volunteers from the local highschool and they are idiots.
I called WCTV channel 6 news out of Tallahassee and they also have got reports and are sending a news van out. I've done a phone in interview about a 30 sec clip and called some 1800 number i was given.
there is going to be absentee ballot sent out but the votes wont count for today's main count but will be tallied later as part of the absentee ballots that come in late along with overseas citizens, soldiers, etc.
so they are mailing me a ballot to mail back in, but I dont see why I would be turned away at the booth my drivers id was expired in 2005 but I had a medicare card they refused to take, I don't get EBT, but I am on medicare. I also had a social security card but the kid kept saying VALID PICTURE ID! and they had some printouts pasted on the wall of the voting areas stating "VALID PICTURE ID REQUIRED" so they are morons.
a ton of people got turned away according to WCTV 6 out of Tallahassee for southern GA. but it's now reported and we are getting mailed out ballots, its just out vote won't count as the main tally shown tonight on tv. ours will be counted as late mail in's along with overseas citizens and such according to the phone call. But at least ill have it mailed in, but it really wont matter if one of them get 270 electorals then there is no need to count the late ballots anyhow is there?
so proof that some votes don't mean squat, course usually I never get involved with politics and never vote, this is my 3rd time voting in my entire life. I didn't think an expired id would be a problem since I'm disabled anyhow and dont drive.
I did call WCTV channel 6 which is out of Tallahassee, they have received lots of complaints about this from many counties in the deep south near the Florida/Ga border.
there is supposed to be a news report tonight about it, but they forwarded complaints to the state as well as gave numbers for us to call. I called the state number in Atlanta and filed complaint. I did have my expired ID with me, I also had my medicare card but the lady was a teenage volunteer and was already seemed short of patience and was bitching and moaning at people and long lines. Seems there was no real supervisors in the voting areas to oversee the teenage volunteers running the place.

I just got mine 2 days ago, a new Model B Revision 2 board...
they claimed it was made in the UK but when I opened the static bag and pulled out the board a huge "MADE IN CHINA" stamped all over it
here is photo I took of my new model B Revision 2 board - http://www.flickr.com/photos/qoaa/8233431330/
you can clearly see made in china
here is another angle with made in china at top - http://www.flickr.com/photos/qoaa/8233433632/

This planet needs a small nuclear holocaust though if we are to avoid global warming...
a small nuclear exchange would reverse the effects of global warming and actually cool the planet
who wants ubuntu anymore anyhow?
fuck an adware OS and use Debian, Ubuntu is just a ripoff copy of Debian anyhow,
either be a real linux user and run Slackware and learn to compile your own binaries for your system, or use Debian if you are too scared to compile
the rest of the debian ripoffs are pure shit

with a direct link to the movie on a notecard so they can also download a standard definition, 720p or 1080p bluray rip as well :)

done.

Yup, always support your local telco's dsl service. You'll never be harassed, get letters or be bothered about bandwidth caps like cable companies do.
Earthlink, Windstream dsl, and all the local telco isp's are 1000x better for true unlimited bandwidth and they don't monitor you
I've had it when it was plain adsl at 1.5 megabit down in the late 90's all the way to now vdsl with 20 megabit down. I was driven home, I'm disabled.
well we are back to Bush/Gore situation with Obama/Romney
CNN/Fox reporting on both their sites and on tv
Romney got more popular vote by the citizens
Obama didn't win the popular vote, and only won by the electoral college.
if we went by who got the most votes, then Romney would be the new president now.

My drivers license expired in 2005, and I never bothered getting it renewed. So I don't have a "valid ID" even though I'm on disability.
I was turned away not allowed to vote for not having a valid id :)
I said oh well, not like voting matters anyhow due to electoral college bullshit and went home
