I like it because it is non interactive and takes a while.
You can at any time be like, this needs to run over night, and let it do the complete cycle a few times. This is great if you need a break from doing free help.
I also tend to run it as a first check for random crashing (only had it give errors once, for a crap MB)
a 2MP camera can get 4x6 prints as good as a cheap film prossessing. Low end film prints are equivelents to 150-300 dpi images, high end ones go up to 600 dpi.
4(300)*6(300)=2160000 or 2.16 MP
So, assuming the color doesn't suck these prints are as good as a traditional film camera and one hour prossessing. Definatly a better deal then a traditional disposable.
Also, at 10.99 for 25 digital prints it is a good deal too. Everywhere I have seen online is.49 a print, so this is cheaper and comes with the CD.
your cheap scanner is going to take a non trivial amount of time to scan 300dpi images of 25 photos, and unless you went somewhere fairly good, you will be getting a lower quality then this camera.
I agree, that if you need higher resolution (for prints bigger then 4x6) this camera is not for you, but it is a great deal for a cheap disposable weather digital or not.
especialy since ALL the music is available easily in MP3 format anyway. Since I can get the music on Kazaa why would I get the DRM version here (or even iTunes)? I would get it because I WANT to pay. If I want to pay there is not risk in giving me a good version. Why can't the companies already accept that there is total saturation of piracy, and therefor there is no cat to keep in the bag with DRM.
for $40 dollors a touring band could be like, get a tape of this concert in x number of days at blah.
they could sell high quality recordings and own the bootleg market of there stuff. Only need 10 people a concert to be interested enpough to make your money back.
You could make paradropping colonizers, drop in, build base, airport in an army.
Also paradropping 1,1,1 (well actually I think 1,3,1 was the same cost) units was brutal.
Pound city with helicapters till it was empty, paradrop in, move helicopters into city with there last move. Repeat. I could take about 5 cities in 3 turns before the helicopters got weak.
Blinking was also WAY to powerful, but I guess that is a balance issue. Blink hovertanks with max attack totally owned. The attack rating got incredibly high towards the end.
More balance problems, the Gian were so so so powerful. with the 2 efficiency bonus they could dominate late middle game on a large map. I played and got a sick high score, and it could have been higher. I was getting 2 or 3 futute techs a turn, but tired of it so became one with the planet.
Oh well, my friend and I used to play together and 0wn the computer all night long, and it was a lot of fun. but unit building was just another imbalace in my opinion, and not a plus.
I heard an interview with one hof the big guys at Pixar on NPR. He said that what they can do with the currecnt tech is a factor taken when they do a film.
Toys are plastic, ALL early CG looked plastic, thus Toy Story.
He also said that when they felt they could do fur they did monsters inc. Because they wanted to use the fur.
From the interview it sounded like every part got equal share of the attention, (the directing, the casting, the story, the graphics). All of the Pixar films have been solid childrens movies that would have worked weather CG or animated (most would have been incredibly hokey live action though).
But if a game is MultiPlayer, and you do immoral thigns to other characters (such as mugging them, or Killing them wrongly (TK) , or robbing them of everything they have) you could easily be detracting from the expierience for someone else.
Jumping into a game of Quake and being a griefer is certainly not a good thing, true it is petty immoralty, along the line of mild harrassment or teasing someone gently who is not cool with it. In that case, true it is a fantasy world, but if you are cheating to make it less fun for other people that can't be totally alright.
What if I start calling people offering them stolen goods for free. I bet after a few complaints the courts would allow the people I stole from a chance to know who I was.
Kazaa is like putting abig sign in front of your house, here is what I have for you, it may or may not be legel.
If I went somewhere and found stuff identifiable as my stereo system (matching S/N) you can bet that I would have a right to know who lived there.
nobody is sayign the RIAA can look at the actualy packets sent between two people. Only that they can see who advertises what. They want the phone logs, not recorded conversation. And phone logs can be aquired quite easily in a criminal case.
Of course if they are pursuing civil charges there may be more limits (I don;t really know). ALso the RIAA should not really be allowed to pursue criminal charges, that is the police job.
People have mentioned Techtronix, another brand though is Alps. They stopped sellign them a while ago, but are available refurbished, and places still work on them. They were strongly recommended by "Quick Printing" (a trade magazine) in the Q&A section. The guy said he has 2 so that if the one ever needs to be repaired he uses the other.
My biggest complaint with them is that the "ink" is glossy. So that letter you print off has shiny black text, no matter what paper you use. I find that incredibly annoying. For color output though I give them high praise, but it is nothing that cannot be beat by a good inkjet given enough time. For high quality color output InkJet or dye-sub is the way to go.
dye sub suffers from life span issues, being barly better then a laser print.
I think SGI does?
I think I remember reading about some massive wierd accrinym cluster they are doing (NUMA?)
someone else probably knows.
I agree, I love it when I start a new game for whatever reason and get to do the tutorial bullshit again. Never Mind, I know how to read.
And a god-awful network browser and control panel (or are they in Win2K also?)
Everytime I try to browse a LAN from XP I am like, where the fuck is Entire network, it pissess of and humiliates me.
If your going to correct it, correct it right.
It's a European Carry-all
It's great, there is a bootable .iso for CD.
I like it because it is non interactive and takes a while.

I've always had to click the I want to share shit button to get it to bind NetBios
I'm pretty sure Webservices is not part of the standard install.
This is a boxed non OEM version of WIN98 SE I am (attepting) remembering.
If I'm wrong correct me, but I think you are wrong.

yeah, lets hope they don't sell at a loss, hoping to liscense the games. Could cause problems.
arn't you optimistic, I won't even be able to run either:)
My question was about the engines and not the games themselves though.
Or figuring out a strategy to get the GPL tossed out so they could use other strategies to be able to use the code.
hmmm, I wonder what this whole SCO ordeal is?
Are the graphhics in Half Life 2 going to make Doom3 obsolete on release date?
or is Doom 3 going to look better (I find that hard to believe from what I have seen though)
It was worse then that.
...shame on you. Fool me twice <awkward pause, thinking>, well you see, you can't fool me twice, you already fooled me...
He said
I saw this and felt so sad for my country.

I think the same thing about PS2 level graphics, there is only so much I can see in a handheld.
So will it have TV out?
Is it going to try to act as a console on top of a handheld? that would have potential.
The Sony vibration is awsome.
It does slow rotating and fast, it is so much better then any of the other ones I have used (except maybe the GC)

Unit customization was way too abusable.
You could make paradropping colonizers, drop in, build base, airport in an army.

This should lead the way to a Tomb Raider game in which Lara Croft acts out your innermost unspoken fantasies.
Unspoken?
This looks single player, so I have to agree.

I'm tired, this probably makes no sense (see sig)
#4808 though eyes closed
helmets stood not
That has to be the best one.
I'm sure plenty of people here can relate.
What if I start calling people offering them stolen goods for free. I bet after a few complaints the courts would allow the people I stole from a chance to know who I was.

I was looking at the site and the FAQ and two questions were unanswered.
Is there (or will there be) a Linux client?
What are the minimum requirements?
it would be nice if that info was in the FAQ.

Most laser printers are immune to the slowdown for high coverage.
For one offs they slowdown for photos, but for multiple prints they will put out high speed continually for even high coverage.
Also your print quality should be a non issue for multiple prints too.
Once the data is to the printer and prossessed everything will run about the same.
