The point is that they're not _your_ songs, but that for $15/month you get the ability to legally listen to whatever tracks (that they have the rights to) for that month.
Sounds like crap to me. Kazaa offers a much better deal.
I don't know about firefox but camino on osx is a lot faster than ie. I find ie hella slow on osx. I don't have the time or energy to try to test this myself but in my experience it's just wrong. IE is slow - it takes a long time to start and it renders pages at a snail's pace. Camino does it faster. Safari is even faster but I prefer Camino. No way in hell I use IE on a mac if I don't absolutely have to.
They added an "X" on the end of their ticker symbol. It's a sign of their future plans. Once their lawyers are done with linux, they have their sights set on another UNIX-based operating system... And you thought OS X was expensive at $129!
UCS is not partisan in the same way. These guys are a front for industry PR campaigns. The UCS is literally a union of concerned scientists. They are not a closed organization; if you are a concerned scientist with different views, join UCS, participate in the process and make your voice heard. If you have anything useful to add to the discussion it will likely be listened to. Scientists are not the kind of closed minded twits that you find in politics (or PR). Calling these people partisan and leftist is absurd -- the positions they take are neither especially radical nor controversial, but they've come under attack by an organized (and funded) campaign from the right that is trying to make them out to be. And people with a clue should resist that, whether or not you agree with their politics.
Yeah - I haven't updated yet and I have no time to mess with reinstalling or conflict diagnosis, so I just avoid putting it to sleep for now. I haven't been able to find any info using google, etc.
I have the same problem on my desktop. I can't put it to sleep at all or it never wakes up. Luckily it's a desk top so I can use the "don't move your arm like that" solution fine. No problem on my laptop (iBook 700 white G3) but it happens consistently on the desktop (dual G4 867 mirror drive doors). Any info you find out on this please post!
I installed it via Software Update during a dinner party and my kitchen caught fire. The dinner guests just grinned nervously as the blaze spread to the dining room and consumed them.
Lucida Grande is the new Verdana.
I live in LA. I'm so glad to hear this! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go wait in a bread line.

So, in other words, you're definitely a Democrat.

Is it just me or does my computer feel so much snappier now that I've put a window in it?
Please report to a licensed Apple Re-education Camp immediately. It seems your Reality Distortion Field needs re-adjustment.
Maybe you need to read it again then. RTFM, dude! You think Steve Jobs writes these manuals for his health?
That's two words! They've just been smushed together for market-speak. I mean marketspeak. Fuckit.

Mattel has been suing people for doing this for a long time now. They often lose but they don't care; they keep doing it.

Damn! I had an intelligent and well developed response to that all thought out but when I got to the comment box my mind just went blank.
