Yes it's about time. Finally us Mac & BSD fans can join in the chorus: Microsoft is dying! Whew that felt good.

This brings up the question of filtering websites. There are a lot of filters available that filter out adult sites for those who want to do that. My problem is that when I am looking for porn I often get sidetracked with news, weblogs, statistics, speeches, advertising, political websites, and other insignificant things that I would like to filter out. Hasn't someone built a proxy that will filter out all this extraneous information so I can focus on the important things on the web?

The copyright holders of the songs decide what you can and can't do, which, honestly is they way it shoudl be.

I totally disagree. Copyright is not a natural right; it is a limited privilege extended to works for the purpose of promoting intellectual progress. The copyright holder has limited rights concerning the redistribution of works, but they do not and cannot "decide what you can and can't do." Beyond preventing you from redistributing the work in a manner that impedes intellectual progress, they should have no further legal powers. I believe the DMCA gives copyright holders powers that are not authorized by the Constitution and go completely against the goal of copyright law.

That is correct. The Supreme Court docket is public, and oral arguments are open to the public. Go here for some info. The press usually attends these sessions and reports on them. Also, I don't think that argument has anything to do with why Diebold is abusing copyright law to subvert the US political system.

You're stealing the ones you tear the tags off of; the only one who will notice them missing is you (or whoever you sell them to). You can put them in a duffle bag and throw them in with the truck full of grenades; it will look like 1200 grenades and it's only 1000. You then take your 200 "surplus" grenades to your friendly neighborhood illegal arms smuggler, and profit!

Will they? As someone only half-facetiously pointed out above, switching the tags could easily go unnoticed. Especially when you scan, say, a truckload of grenades or something. Once some unscrupulous person figures out how to lift the tags what's to stop them from passing off a truck filled with 1000 grenades as a truck full of 1200?
