    You cannot have a free market once economic power starts to accumulate, as it will in the absence of regulation; nor you have a free market with regulation.

    The "free market", thusly, cannot really exist, except for a very brief period at the beginning before clout accumulates and capitalism takes hold. It's a philosophical fiction; a Utopia by definition. Marxism is more realistic.

    You are, of course, completely right. However, agreeing with Marx in Slashdot is a sure-fire recipe for a "-1 Flamebait"

    First off, there's no legitimate reason iTunes has to use QuickTime for MP3/AAC decoding. There are plenty of other options.

    Well, I tend to reformat my root partition, but leave my /home partition as is... Never had a problem

    Please remember that almost every computer is purposely made to run Windows, which is why its always a little bit easier to install it.

    If you want a computer preconfigured with Ubuntu, so that you don't need to see a CLI ever and you can be sure everything works out of the box, you can buy one from these guys:

    I can confirm that when opening an Excel document in OO.org you lose the tab color information.

    If 3.2 fixes that, I would be a happ(ier) camper

    I find OpenOffice 3.1 has less compatibility problems with .docx documents than with straight .doc's
