    Its been "the year of the Linux Desktop" at home for several years now, thank you...

    My wife uses it confortably, after a lot of initial misgivings

    My 4 year old uses it, and prefers TuxPaint to any other kids software he's seen

    True, the particular variety of Buddhism practiced in Thailand is a big part of the reason why people are always smiling at you... Seriously, I've travelled a lot and nowhere have I seen friendlier people or better customer service

    About Live Messenger, a funny anecdote:

    I just got a new Windows XP laptop at work... When I am working from home, I am expected to be available through Skype and MSN

    So I go and download the latest version of MSN messenger... After a few hours of struggling with the huge load of adware bloat that is the latest MSN client I went and installed Pidgin for Windows

    So now I have the IM experience I love from Linux in my Windows machine
