    AMD's job is to sell processors (among other things). As long as they aren't lying with the numbers, I see no problem with that.. its just typical business marketing.. hardly misleading unless you are too stupid to read the numbers

    What is the difference between a religous message and a printed statement that is secular in nature? What if she made a speech filled with opinions that some people may have found disagreeable (political, etc)?

    What if she passed out the religious material to her friends in a non-disruptive manner at school?

    Use your own encrytion (ssh, SSL, etc).. and route through multiple wireless hops.. also put tamper or vibration sensors on it... a small CCD camera (perhaps on more than one side of the case) is nice too..

    I didn't want to go to high school. Apart from AP classes with qualified teachers, I have not learned anything in high school.

    Am I getting paid $15.75 an hour to learn courses that I have no use for in real life?

    I know how to study and do homework.. I wouldn't get a job doing work I didn't want to do in the first place (Why should I study and work in college just to get a job doing work I dont want to do?)

    Yeah, heaven forbid that a kid can learn on his own something that will actually be useful for him in the future instead of the government mandated cirriculum that they can't teach right in the first place.

    You're very right. School is way too long, has too many pointless courses of required study (the majority of which I am already familar with through my own independent studies), and not to mention incompetent teachers (thats subject for another post).

    Every day, I fight to wake up at 6:00 even though my body does not want to and I struggle to make it out on time. After 7 hours of mind-numbing school, I come back home still tired and often end up back in bed making up for the time I didn't have to sleep, and I still have to manage to get all my homework done.

    Solution? Take the "one-size-fits-all" concept out of education and let students make their own choices. Make it more college like. You should only have a few classes every day (stagger the days you meet for that class) and for not so long.

    I know I am asking too much, but I can at least hope..

    I have a 9 year old Digital RZ28 that's still in service (its a SCSI-2, 2.1GB). It's taken all sorts of abuse like powering on and off frequently, powering off and back on while its spinning up, etc.

    Heh. Easy. Just have someone claim to to the benchmarks overseas (unspecified country) and just host the webpage containing the benchmarks in a server in Sealand (or a country that is not subject to MS's asanine ELUA). Is it illegal for Mono to reference "third party" benchmarks?

    My school district, Fort Bend ISD, runs this too.. In fact, they tried to use it against me one time [click] because I mentioned how their IT staff left an infected webserver on the internet for over a year and knew about it.. They didn't like me letting people know that they didn't do anything about it, so they decided to submit my URL to websense..

    Open it up, and solder in some normal connectors...

    The reason why 802.11b equip. has these funny connectors is becuase the FCC mandates that wireless equipment have "difficult to obtain" connectors.

    If you don't want to solder, then go to http://www.fab-corp.com/ and see if they have what you want.

    I can assue you that is a real e-mail from a Fort Bend ISD tech.

    I remember microsoft.com had a quote from a guy who was the head IT person over in FBISD on how MS software really made things wonderful for the students and staff members. The guy's name was something Pike. I don't think he works here anymore. If I find the page, I'll post the URL.

    The guy's name (in the email) is Doug Wormhoudt. I just removed the e-mail addys as a temporary precaution.

    FBISD is a 100% NT shop, though I know they have an AS/400 for student records and someone "in the know" tells me that they have a linux machine sitting on the network.

    For the record, I don't have any interest in trying to break into these systems. (Since I know someone will try to accuse me of).

    I got your email. This is NOT the code red virus as you indicate in the e-mail. I really dont want FBISD trying to interrogate me and trying to get FBI, et al on my case either (all I did was INFORM them.. but they don't care).

    I don't think the news media gives a flip either.

    There is an Apache fix that will patch the older versions of Apache. That is what I did on my webserver.

    FWIW, I sent this to the superintendent several months ago (this was several months after I notifed the webmaster people who dropped the ball). All they did was 403 the /images (which contained the defacement), but it still is in other directories. That was because it was /images that I sent them the link to. I just love MCSEs!!
