The humans on BSG only had 5 nuclear warheads. BSG actually didn't have any weapons of any kind when the war started as it was being turned into a museum.
BSG was able to get to the lone surviving weapons depot but was only able to get a limited number of nukes.
No one is saying that languages don't push each other out. The OP's point was "so it spread everywhere, but was pushed out of it's own back yard".
For some reason everyone keeps trying to refute this observation with examples that don't apply because they only fit one part of the observation. For example, english and spanish pushing out native languages in the Americas keep being brought up.
Sure, it may not be super rare, but the refuting examples being put forth are silly.
Not sure what your point is. Did you read the GP's post? No one is debating that languages don't "push out" other languages so what you're trying to debate is not clear.
The GP's point is that a language that so successfully "pushed out" other languages of the world would itself be pushed out of its homeland.
England and Spain may have "pushed out" existing languages in the Americas but neither England nor Spain has had their language displaced from their homeland since that time.
You missed the point that the language was pushed out it's own back yard. English is still spoken in England and Spanish is still spoken in Spain. I don't know enough about Italy to know if Latin was "pushed out" or just evolved into Italian.
Or erratic typing while on a car's passenger seat, Anyway, preventing erratic typing while on public transport seems like a rather large problem to me.
Anyone know why Jerry Brown is against privacy protections? I thought he was big on civil liberties rather than being a "if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear" type.
The military tends to have very specific meanings assigned to synonyms and they can vary by branch.. Terms like ship/boat, soldier/marine, engine/motor, gun/firearm, ex/former, etc all have very specific meanings in the military that may conflict with civilian usage.
As far as I know, there's no circumstance in the united states where you can go to prison for debt.
Contempt of court is the legal mechanism for establishing debtors prisons. It's used very often when a father cannot keep up with child support payments. Many men that lost their jobs or had to a take lower paying one during the recession are now in jail for this very reason.
Sounds like the judge is in Sony's back pocket, so I'd be surprised if the defendant doesn't end up in jail if he ever loses his job or has to take a salary cut.
Those stats aren't really accurate but it's not worth debating. Like you said yourself, "a hit" is not the only measure of "success".
In any event, no-knock warrants have made defending your home with a firearm almost impossible. Alll a intruder has to do is break in at 2AM and yell "this is the police!!! everyone on the ground now!". Cops get the wrong addresses all the time and if you shoot one because you think he is a home invader, you will be charged with murder.
Yeah, but the footage from real cameras is often useless for burglaries as well because the cameras are mounted so high that they don't capture anyone's face. There's a burglary ring in Atlanta that breaks into clothing stores and steals high end jeans ($200+). They've been captured on camera for over a year, but all that is ever revealed is the top of their heads.
Even if a person's face is captured, cops don't really care that much about break ins so it's rare that they'd investigate it anyway. They'd really only care if you could identity the person or if they thought it was part of a more serious crime spree. Cops feel that property crimes are covered by insurance so why should they care.
The only footage that I've ever seen that has been useful has been from behind the counter that captures an armed robbery.
Is there any reason for a manned mission to the solar system? The sun and mercury are obivous out of the question and most likely venus, but could there be any other reason to ever send a manned mission the interior of the solar system?
A major league outfielder (baseball) can determine where the ball is going to land without having to constantly adjust. He still has to visually track it to make fine adjustments since it is relatively small and very fast moving - just arriving at the spot wouldn't be enough to catch it. Visually tracking also allows correction for dynamic atmospheric conditions.
A basketball player is also able to predict with very close precision where his jump shot will land.
And it make no sense to compare countries with differences in population size (I'm from Sweden so we never have to worry about pollution because we're such a small nation anyway?) but rather per capita.
Per capita makes no sense either. By that logic, the US could be less of a poluter if we imported in millions of people from mexico and forced them to live off the land in areas without any electricity.
People from small european countries with homogeneus populations tend to rely on this "per-capita is all that matters" fallicy pretty heavily.
Atmospheric conditions such as gusts of wind and air pressure are not exactly knowable at the moment the projectile will encounter them. Any solution would have to assume some level of uniformity.
Law enforcement will convince the judge that having a plausible deniability volume is standard practice in the criminal world and the judge will hold you in contempt unless you unlock more than one volume.
Yeah, this isn't fair and you might not even have multiple volumes, but the justice system isn't fair. Judges get to do pretty much whatever they want when it comes to contempt.

Not correct. His cancer was found early enough to be very treatable. He just chose not to.
Because (rightly or wrongly) Apple is considered the aggresor. You really can't fault a company to fight back when it comes under a patent assault.
Or erratic typing while on a car's passenger seat, Anyway, preventing erratic typing while on public transport seems like a rather large problem to me.
Especially in a hostage situation
For personal injury cases, yeah, because the juries side for the little guy in those even if they know they're in the wrong.
Patent cases are different.
But he has been elected before. He served two terms as governor in the late 70's & 80's.
I was under the impresion that he was a proponent of civil liberties during his previous stint. Is that not correct or did he change his views?
Anyone know why Jerry Brown is against privacy protections? I thought he was big on civil liberties rather than being a "if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear" type.
Is he still traumatized by 9/11 or something?

Then he'll probably spend the rest of his life in jail for contempt of court.

woosh!!!
I think you missed the OP's double negative. He stated that torx is NOT one that he COULD NOT buy.
In other words, he is saying that he could buy it at the hardware store.
greek fire?

Many of those cannot be accounted for though.
