You do have something to hid: Your business. It's not Their business. Keep it that way. Pretty soon it will become Their business to know your business and you won't be able to stop them. They will want to know what medicines you take, what time you have sex, what books you read, etc. The TSA probably already collects that information.
Sorry, I was referring to the constitution, not the LAW. The "exclusive right is transferable" is not in the constitution but was a property that was made up later. It does not become part of the constitution even if the law is ruled constitutional. In fact, later court cases might render it unconstutional - though that is doubtful.
I know it is a little too late to add comments to this thread but I just want to say that when you are too old to learn you are dead. Learning is part of life and living. Change is part of life and living.
I don't know why when I saw the title, I envisioned an OS that would not do any system calls unless some advertisement requirement had been met. I.e., you must look at some advertisement before you can do an fdopen() system call. I guess a malloc() call would require 1 click on an HP advertisement.
If you are interested in "abstract" mathematics, rather than applied mathematics you might as well continue on to grad school. Once you get a job it is hard to continue on to a masters and doctorate. You will find you don't have time. In my opinion most jobs available to a 4 year degree person majoring in mathematics would be fairly low level mathematics - at least one with no experience. I doubt that the "actuary" carreer path mentioned in previous posts uses much math beyond calculus and simple statistics. Again, in my opinion, most theoretical math work is done at universities or government sponsored labs and they would require a degree beyond a four year degree.
I think the decline of social clubs and organizations has been going in for many decades. I would blame, not the Internet but Television, The Interstate highway system, and Subburbs. I think they are way our of date in their study. There used to be tons of social networks, organizations and support groups in society. Now days no on belongs to them. E.g., the Jaycees, The Odd fellows, The Daughters of the American Revolution, other civic organizations, etc. If I were dictator of this country, I would ban Television.
Quote from Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_capital Social capital "refers to the collective value of all 'social networks' and the inclinations that arise from these networks to do things for each other," according to Robert Putnam, author of Bowling Alone and the concept's leading exponent (though not its originator). According to Putnam and his followers, social capital is a key component to building and maintaining democracy. Putnam says that social capital is declining in the United States. This is seen in lower levels of trust in government and lower levels of civic participation. Putnam also says that television and urban sprawl have had a significant role in making America far less connected. Unquote
Whenever I see the letters HD together, I first think of Harley-Davidson (definitely more fun than High Definition), secondly I think of Hard Drive, lastly and usually not at all, I think of High Definition.
I listened to the BBC news article and they did not mention anything about walmart wanting to trademark anything. It was two other people who were claiming trademark and walmart was defending its use. It seems a little late for anyone to do anything - in my opinion.
(throw things at the wall until something sticks) is the best way to solve problems. You know, rather than solving them by understanding them:)
Actually, that is how you get to understand the problem - by trying things. All the computer modeling in the world is just theory if you really don't understand it. If you really understand it enough to model it properly then it is probably not really a problem, just an exercise. - in my opinion. Please don't disparage throwing stuff at the wall. That is how a lot of inventions came about.
Make sure you get an implant in a part of your body you don't mind losing. If theives learn about it, they'd probably prefer to cut you up rather than take you along to rob your house (or whatever you have "protected" with RFID). I seem to recall a man who lost his finger to car theives for a similar reason.
All in all, I'd say that Microsoft is a lesser evil then the Current Chinese government (after all Microsoft is not committing genocide in Tibet, although it does not like competition like the Chinese Communist party does not like competition) but perhaps adding them together yields on full evil.

Man, that is a Microsoft Weenie comment if I ever heard one. Didn't Microsoft stock drop over 2.7 percent when they announced that Vista would be late? Someone cares.
I have a Palm TX that is great for (short small) notes too. However, I would not dream of using it for a class where I have to take 20 filled-up 8.5x11 pages of notes in one class period. First of all the screen is way too small, second, I would destroy the touch screen with all that note taking. You mention GUI based drawing tools, they are fine for straight lines (E.g., Visio) but mice and track balls and pads, etc do not have near the dexterity that a pen does. (Much less a brush.) I know people who do artwork - for a living - on computers but they generally do it with professional quality tools, not the junky input devices on a laptop. If your iPAQ suits you for note taking then great. I just personally would not want to use it. Thank you for your input.

Sorry, that is Catastrophe theory:

Probably more complicated then that. Owning is legal, operating illegal, selling is ???
That's what it seems like to me.

"...to authors and inventors..."
i cle_7779.shtml
Also it does not say to authors and inventors or their representatives.
(E.g., the RIAA which is neither)
Congress AND the President both ignore the US constitution.

God, that's the old myth. It is tiresome. That is definitely not true for large solar panels, the energy payback is a couple of years.

...look at the molars of the elephants and make the right conclusion...
Personally, I think they will look at the size of their trunks and
conclude they were pack rats.

$20 tracfone will do that.

I am just glad I have SBC as my provider. I don't have to worry.
But wait a minute...
...could narrow it down to about 10 people.
And that statement probably narrowed it down to 3. But who is being paranoid.
Digital phones don't give you this option, due to the lossy compression.
Huh?, I can plug my digital only VX7000 right into my Linux workstation
and dial out on it.
Being as some are probably passing through your body right now, you should be able to answer that question for yourself.
(who cares when, it will be awesome anyway)
