I'm glad your taste buds are so evolved, Mr. Slashdot Cuisine! I've tried twinkies before, and they're good enough that your family will have to shackle you to stop you from scarfing down the whole box! Paraphrasing Chris Rock, twinkies are so good you'll suck a dick for one.

  2. OT: My LAST experience w/ TigerDirect on Former TigerDirect President Indicted In $230 Million Laundering Scheme · · Score: 2

I was looking for a RAID enclosure for my little VM setup. What I got was a hard drive array (basically a port extender) with a RAID card thrown in. I went back to look at the advertisement to see how I got it wrong, and the ad used very deceptive wording about "additional items" included. Very shady and one of those transactions that evaporates any trust you might have in a vendor.

It's enterprise software and we were actually informed by Perforce after maybe 10 years on a license that since our user base is so small we can use it for free. I think the cutoff is based on the number of licenses per server. I've never needed my own personal SCM, but I'd go w/ Perforce if I never needed one.

Right now, SSDs aren't a *economic* replacement for hard drives. But, if you're willing to shell out more for performance, then they're viable replacements. I'm running a 512MB SSD in my laptop for the OS (data on a hard drive RAID-1). I know there are organizations using SSDs for high-performance RAID-10s which is a great application if you've got the coin.

One of the great things about Christoper Reeve's version is that Superman had subtle "flaws". He did have a bit of arrogance to him; e.g. when as a teen he raced his friends (and the locomotive) home.

It's always parsed wording. Kinda like Apple said it was unaware of the government's Prism program. Now, of course they were aware they were piping private info out to the Feds. They just didn't know the program name.

I also love the irony here. So, Snowden devastated US intelligence with this leak, but he's completely wrong and lying and exaggerating about what he knows?

  15. I'm in the minority; I liked 3 AND 4 on Arnold Schwarzenegger Will Be Back As the Terminator · · Score: 1

Three was good, not OK. I'd give it a 6.5/10. Probably a whole 1/2 point for the way they tied the whole franchise together. But, I thought the sexbot thing was overdone.

Four was a great look at the SkyNet future; maybe 7/10. I suspect that Bale-fatigue has more to do w/ it's low rating than the film itself. Much in the same way the *excellent* Tom Cruise flick Minority Report suffered from the haters.

I just think it's odd that people would say either of those films suck since by no standard would I give either film anything less than 3/10. But, in the world of hyperbolic criticisms, I guess "suck" is the equivalent of "wasn't an 8/ or 10/10 in my book".
