Am I correct in assuming those numbers include new things being added to the specs? That's the only way I can see Firefox/Opera/Safari stagnating and Chrome DROPPING. I do find the IE10 numbers to be rather suspect. My guess is that is MS's "promise", just like they've been promising since IE7 was in beta.
Are you sure it wasn't the online purchase itself that triggered the "fraud alert"? A dormant card suddenly being used online sounds like exactly the kind of thing that would trigger such a thing.
Right, because a financial company is going to disclose a security breach because of a law that can only be used against them if someone finds out about the security breach they won't disclose...
My laptop gets rebooted quite frequently due to dual-boot (games), but my server has been up for 153 days now (about 5 months). They both run arch.
I can't believe ubuntu still takes that long. My laptop automatically starts apache, mysql, and a bunch of other services (I do web development on it) at startup and I'd be surprised if it took 10 seconds (not counting POST and grub timeouts).
Still not a shutdown since you don't need to re-open your documents, restart any services, unmount drives, etc. Hibernate is a LOT closer to suspend than shutdown.
Right, because Microsoft making $15 per android phone by blackmailing phone manufacturers with non-existent linux patents is REALLY helping linux users forget what jack-asses they are so we can put it all behind us...
Hawkeye: War isn't Hell. War is war, and Hell is Hell. And of the two, war is a lot worse.
Father Mulcahy: How do you figure, Hawkeye?
Hawkeye: Easy, Father. Tell me, who goes to Hell?
Father Mulcahy: Sinners, I believe.
Hawkeye: Exactly. There are no innocent bystanders in Hell. War is chalk full of them - little kids, cripples, old ladies. In fact, except for some of the brass, almost everybody involved is an innocent bystander
As much as I hate quoting TV, this has more truth in it than any other quote I've read.
Oh please, facebook took a while to catch on as well, as did myspace, nexopia and all the other social networking sites before it.
Some people are dismissing Google+ because of what happened with wave, but the big difference is that Google is being much more conservative it this time around.
By that logic, how do you know a virus you never detected wasn't installed by a deeper rootkit? You're basically saying, once it touches the internet that you need to flash/format/install anyways. That's like saying you need to replace the axel of your car after a flat tire because there MIGHT be an issue in the axel that caused it.
Believe it or not, reformatting is not always necessary.
BTW, it's really nice that you bring your own mobile internet with you when you fix someones house, but many people don't have that luxury.
Sorry, I am NOT going to attempt to eradicate a virus at someone's house if they have no internet. Makes error code lookups, update managing, etc nearly impossible. Sure you could download everything at your own house, then bring that with you, especially since after a re-install you need to run windows-update about 15 times!
I do believe that infected computers need to be dropped off the net, but it is VERY difficult to fix the problem without the internet to begin with.
I think the issue is the ambiguity of the warning. It does not say to disconnect the phone line from the *computer* but simply to disconnect it. Many people now-a-days don't even know you CAN connect the phone line to a laptop and thus might think they need to disconnect their phone from the wall.
The idea is to standardize the PLUG. Then all you need to do is find a charger that matches the voltage (most laptops use one of 4 voltages) and exceeds the wattage rating and you're home free.
Right, so that limits bittorrent to what the ISP likes (or knows about). It also makes your source lag. New security update? Oh, my ISP doesn't have that yet. Share vacation videos with your family? Sorry, my ISP doesn't support private torrents and someone else's won't give them access to it.
Some ISP's are very good about this stuff (mirroring linux iso's/updates, usenet, etc) but most SUCK at it.
Actually, when you think about it, this would be the perfect place to implement bittorrent streaming. It's usually useless since people don't start their movie at the same time, but with sports (and news to a degree), there would be NO problem with that. You simply have 2 steams. The only roadblock now is ISP's throttling the crap out of our upload rates.
Unless they've slipstreamed custom drivers into Android that can't be pulled out and plugged into MeeGo. Also remember that a LOT of the Android customizations are/were written so badly that Linus has (rightly) refused their entry into upstream. Making their inclusion in MeeGo a PITA.

Just log out/in.
Until you need to type a foreign last name, serial number, activation code, password, etc.

False, most artist royalties are collectid by and pass through RAA and MPAA members for those artists who signed with them in the first place

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27559165/ns/msnbc_tv/t/watch-msnbc-tv-live/ for the first one. I think TSN also has a streaming service (possibly paid, but probably cheaper than cable/ppv).
And just like art, it requires a certain "gift" if you hope to do any better than stick figures and finger painting.

I'm pretty sure pointing a gun at ANYBODY is a felony in most places. Now some way reduce it if it's not loaded, but not by much.
And yet you couldn't come up with a single one...
Good lord, 2 +2 Trolls in a row!
