I'd really like to see consequences for a truly false DCMA takedown. For example - remove the offender from all major search engine results for a week or so, with a notice that their site is being blocked due to their claiming copyright on things that weren't theirs to begin with.
I've had Youtube block a video made of my daughter playing piano because of the "use of a copyrighted musical performance." Last time I looked, copyright had expired on that particular piece of music several hundred years ago.
Sigh.
I think the key one in there: "Please Note: The original change request was not fulfilled. Your changes were not saved. Original Issues have not been resolved."
To me, that looks like she accidentally re-submitted the same text as the first time.
Heh. best gaming moment ever for me was in a game of Paranoia. I'd brought superglue and rope, and we needed to rescue someone.
Superglue on one end of rope, toss to ceiling. Super glue along inside of arm. Super glue other hand to end of rope. Dots of super glue on toes of boots.
Swoop down and grab (with glue ready arm) the guy we needed to save. Continue on swing up to ceiling (I was given push to help move faster), toes glued to ceiling. Guy we needed to rescue away from bad guys, his arms pinned to his side by my super glued arm.
Now what asks the gm. I grin, and say I get the superglue solvent out of my pocket. How? Ummm....
You realize that adding additional stuff to a patented thing, doesn't get you a free ride on the patent right? If you had a patent for a wagon with 4 wheels, and I add a 5th wheel to mine, I'm still violating your patent. I could get a patent on a 5 wheel wagon, and stop you from making 5 wheel ones, but you still get to make your 4 wheelers, and I don't get to make my 5 wheelers.
Hmmm. So what you're saying is, I should be texting you ads that appear to come from my competitors? Or would you prefer them to be delivered as full blown, MMS extravaganzas?
Go collect some caterpillars. Raise them well, and then release them. You're done.
(obligatory XKCD) http://xkcd.com/378/
I know you said you didn't want to do low level, but you could use this for any language...
people classically selected out through illness, disease and general stupidity on their own behalf are being protected from these dangers and surviving
To some extent, yes. But intelligence as a survival trait is greatly overrated, and was even more overrated in the past. How much brainpower do you need to shovel horse manure or plow a field? With the exception of dangerous animals, today's human's environment is far more dangerous than in the past. 200 years ago there were no autos, planes, motorcycles, or skyscrapers to kill you. Unless you pissed off the nobility or ran across a bear you were pretty safe.
Intelligence has given us one thing that impacts survival rates - Medical knowledge. Look 200 years back, and what child mortality rates were like. Hell, we vastly increased their chance of survival merely by learning that doctors needed to wash their hands before helping in a birth.
And here I thought you were making a suggestion to improve the overall quality of video. Dump everything, and let us focus on the trailers and our popcorn.
Well, it does actually date back to 1995.

If you can find it, the dell SP2309W works awesomely - 2048x1152. I"ve got that next to an optiquest W241WB - 1920x1200, and together they work very very well.
On leaving Vegas (after the 2011 CES), the guy doing the pre-checks of docs before the search/scan area was the one cracking the jokes.
"Enjoy your hands on, interactive, TSA experience". Most people laughed, but one person went ballistic on him.

So - your average /.er should be perfectly safe from gun accidents right?

Try something like that on a PC RPG.
Should have drank his milk then. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKQf2AP-V3I
We provide sheeps to the anti-social weirdos too? When did we start that? Must have been in 2003 or something.

This is really being sponsored/run by chatroulette isn't it?
So, those Nixon and Reagan masks will finally have a good use...

Why does this sound line the lead in to a series of "Yo momma" type jokes?

Sounds good, until you're in a car on fire, and someone needs to smash the class to get you out...
Sadly, Sturgeon's law can be applied recursively to the remaining 10%. Repeat to as many 9's as you need...
Only way to make it would be to clone Mr. Foglio, and have him animate it.
So I guess they finally have gotten the Reflex Engines on line...

so - Smurfs in Space, directed by Michael Bay?
Smurf it all to Smurf. You've found the other Smurfing word.
So far, the attempts to kill us off are working fairly well, although one lucky bugger managed to hide herself for 122 years.
