I had that problem with my first 2.4ghz cordless and my wifi connection, fixed it by buying a "digital" 2.4ghz set (Panasonic KX-TG2216). Earlier 2.4ghz phones used analogue technology (dont ask, I thought that being 2.4ghz meant it WAS digital...apparently not), new phone's will actually say "digital" on them or "wifi friendly".
Take a look at the KX-TG2216, very nice phone and doesnt cause issue's with my wifi.
Not too many people notice this, but the flag has a rod inserted across the top causing the flag to stay erect without the wind (you can sort of see this in the related pic).
people always seem to miss that and ask "where's the wind coming from!?"
If you looking for something that can handle a lot of disk IO and shared data, I'd suggest a SAN solution on the backend of your servers and then Gigabit LAN on the front end for your clients.
The benefit to this is that your consolidating your storage while removing any data/disk traffic off your network. SAN's offer much better fault tolerance and its WAY easier to administer.
Backups become much easier to handle when your data is on one spot and when it comes time to expand, your options are virtually unlimited (depending on your initial solution).
Apple's G5 server is a good packaged solution, but will limit you when it comes to any type of large expansion plans. Compaq servers work well and they also offer an excellent SAN based solution.....and no, I dont work for either Compaq or Apple!
just some facts... SQL SVR 2000 Retail (includes a manual, CD, 5 CAL's and a number of support calls MFG part#228-00683) sells for $1489, and from us for $1388.
why not tape a look at the logitech digital pen and paper? you get a tabloid size notepad and a digital pen that stores everything you write. You dont need a keyboard or screen and you can organize everything on a PC.
Seems like the next logical idea, one step down from a PDA.
Actually, the Silmarillion is the history of middle earth, almost like the bible starting with the creation. The "unfinished tales" would be the background to LOTR.
This is incorrect, Tai-Chi is considered a meditative method as well as a combat style, with principals based very much on what the parent post mentioned (redirection as opposed to confrontation)
To keep it on-topic, a quick search on Google would have yielded these answers (search for: Tai Chi combat)
Actually, Axis is a great solution. I've seen these things demo'ed with live streaming video feed in your browser. The camera's can be setup with a modem for remote locations and come with a built in web server (the camera is basically an IP device that serves the picture as a web page). They also have a model that can remote control (pan/tilt/zoom).
I too have a Linksys DSL/Cable/WAP 4-port router (just upgraded from the NON-WAP version). I have to say that my previous Linksys has run for over a year without trouble, and my new one was just as easy to setup and is still running without a reset. With every firmware revision they add new features (support for VPN's, MAC spoofing, filtering, forwarding, remote management, etc...), I assume they can add support for IPv6 when they feel the need to.
my only complaint is about the wireless signal strength, I can barely get from one end of the house to the other (further research showed me that aftermarket antenna's can increase your range about 1000%, BTW), other than that Linksys has a VERY solid product and "I" recomend it to anyone looking to share internet.
compared to a PC solution, it will never have as much flexability, thats a given, but the ease of setup and reliability far surpass a cheap defunct PC. if your looking to do more that share internet then maybe a more recent PC is the right solution for you, but for internet sharing, dedicated hardware is the way to go.
marketing doesn't make me want to go out and get/steal the latest fashion.....when I see commercials I don't feel the need to steal from someone else to have a specific item. So what the difference between me and the person who mugs someone for foot wear? Morals, the common fabric of society, these individuals were brought up in such a way that they can somehow justify beating someone up for shoes. The generalization that marketing is to blame is dead wrong....if marketing were to blame you would see a lot more people stealing shoes....
To understand we need to take a look at how the individual who stole the shoes was brought up and then understand his reasoning for stealing said item. Of course he wanted them, that's the reason for stealing anything isn't it, if not for the item its for money to get the item. this can be applied to almost any situation, what we need to look at are the morals of the individual, to do that, we look at the society they grew up in.
you can set windows to show extensions of known file types, just go into your explorer window settings and you should be able to find it from there.
still doesnt stop people from creating a zip file with the install files for an app, rename the virus to setup.exe and placing it in the zip file. only a decent anti-v program will detect that, even then, users will most likely turn the V-prog off to install the app!
people never learn......
well, a similare article was in my local newspaper, talked about the exact same thing, how it may take weeks to get cracked cards again. Since I'm in Canada I have no problem with obtaining DirecTV's signal, they dont offer service to Canadian residents and the Canadian equivalent sucks.
they probably sent the code bit by bit to throw the hacking comunity off and to annoy their patrons, sure they probably could have sent one update, but seeing as they managed to come up with such a clever scheme, dont you think they thought of that?
lastly, if your subscribing to DirecTV, you wouldnt have to worry about losing your signal, for a number of reasons. First being that your supposed to have your box hooked to a phone line, second you will have an account with DirecTV (eliminating the "but my card was legit!" arguments) and third, every customer hase a unique code, allowing DirecTV to discriminate who they kick off they're system.
make as much noise as possible, what if other beings are listening for us? Along with listening we should be making some noise our selves, and lots of it. It might spark a response from some civilization to tell us shut the hell up!
your thinking earth terms, what if they have some other method of sending light that we havent discovered yet? or maybe a power source that doesnt make sending beams of light around the galaxy a big deal.
Its probably a good idea to scan the sky for almost any type of un-natural signal.
in Germany there are a few gas stations that serve hydrogen as fuel for BMW and Mercedez cars
sorry, no link, but I read about in a recent BMW publication.

My bank (TD Canada) has machines that offer 10's 20's and 50's (Their usually located in newer branches).

playing devils advocate....
Its more like you asking for two cars but only paying for one, then giving the second car to your wife to drive to work.
you see, the cars represent the CPU's and the drivers are the software. get it? got it? good!
Per CPU (physical CPU) licensing makes sense when the company offers a per user license option alongside.
or a modified bit torrent client setup speciifically to distribute server images among a number of satelite offices.
just an idea...distributed P2P backups!
Or, block spammers much like Telus is blocking direct dials because of modem hijacking.
same cure, different disease.

If the adds were community specifc (local pizza deal, community newspaprer, etc..) then I could see these banner adds actually being profitable.
To keep it on-topic, a quick search on Google would have yielded these answers (search for: Tai Chi combat)
umm......exactly?

carry all the tools of your trade on your key-chain.....never leave home without your full set of tools and apps! no more CD's to lug around.
the battery they talked about a few days ago also used hydrogen.

without marketing we would still have thiefs.
