I heard of MoneyBookers (go prepurchase Minecraft and you'll see them), but they too banned payments to wikileaks:( . This was on August and they are, IIRC, still in that position. Shameful.
Anonymity and privacy are two different things. If Google is going for privacy without anonymity, they're going to have to start teaching people the difference.
They are different IRL; not so much on the internetz. Given how easily it is to (a) collect data about someone, (b) store it, (c) preserve it from degrading, and (d) communicate it, anonymity IS privacy, and sometimes even that is not enough. Privacy is always a single [security breach | disgruntled employee | greedy suit] away from disappearing; anonymity requires much more effort to dispel.
Well, the media coverage I saw on American media organizations like the New York Times and Fox News was quite biased: they were blaming foreign Muslim terrorists right from the start. Even Obama, on a speech, implied that the attack was from a foreign country. After everyone saw the alleged killer's picture, they started calling him an "extremist". This change of words (among other appalling things) is what GP is complaining about. So, as Al Jazeera reported, a Muslim that bombs a building is a terrorist and does terrorism; a xenophobic, Christian fundamentalist, Caucasian is an extremist and causes massacres. It disgusted me a lot, to be honest.
Google tried to kill it with Buzz, but only got a hangover:P . If I want to share something interesting with Google's services, I need to choose between three:
Google Reader
Google Buzz
Google+
Note that these are not fully integrated, so people are segregated by the service I use to broadcast. Twitter is just Twitter, can be as closed for outsiders as a doll's an*s, and comes in 140 characters (more than enough for the ADHD-afflicted masses).
Agreed, when I wrote HPC code for physicists, I was appalled when I saw the programs those people wrote. They wasted precious cycles doing pointless iterations and recalculating stuff. Don't bring a scientist to an engineer fight.
Around 65% of the oil is sent to the US, and Venezuela wants to export more to China, so it's not as ruinous as you may think, though it's still bad. Basically, both countries are grabbing each other by the neck and waiting for the first one to hold tight. Sounds like politics as usual.:)
If Hugo Chavez wanted to damage the US, he only needs to cut the oil flow (right now, Venezuelan oil accounts for 10% of US oil imports). Hardly an enemy!
A trusted traveler program? This is bound to get into discrimination/racism problems. That's the thing with profiling: it's institutionalized prejudice.
Mod parent up. An alternative to Paypal and MoneyBookers exists!

Thank you! I thought I was the only one that knew this. I even programmed a little polymorphic program in 2004.
I was beginning to think I had lost a great opportunity. :P
There have been polymorphic viruses since the dawn of time. I even wrote one in 2004. Why is this news?
That's right, but publications, comments and likes are not shared in both ways, and it has been bothering me for a while. :(
And now, Google+ is in the mix. *sigh*
You do understand that what I found distasteful is America's rhetorics, don't you?

I hope you and your acquaintances are ok.
Shameful that it gets that credit. It was a really cool flick.
This.

Anyone who spells "liter" as "litre" is a moron.
Moron.
Or maybe he/she was born in the United Kingdom?
Born in the United Kingdom.

Heh, DF's UI is like marmite: love it or hate it.
Really? Skywalker was an asshole!
Oh, snap. You beat me to it. :)
A laser hit a Holtzman field and it blasted the whole city. There is no proof though...
Why use it if you don't like it? There are other means for communication, it's not like they have a monopoly...
This was the idea, anyway, before things started to get weird.
You mean more than what it's now?
Take into account you have monkey genes, or even virus genes. That doesn't make them human.
Btw, it raises the question, not begs the question. ;)
What?? Are you delusional?

No, it involved a vaccination program with SIV-tainted products.
