Music Cyclanders -> 78s -> LPs -> 8 Track -> cassettes -> CD -> mp3
Any digital based media... If the format ever changes the old formats are usless. With out books our civilization would be lost. It is bad enough we are going to lose our music, pictures, and movies.
I have been using it for about 2 years now and it does exactly what you want.
It uses a mysql as a db and a modified shoutcast on the front. It also has a very nice web interface.
The typeing injury faq has gobs of information about keyboards. It can be found here
Personnally I use a Twiddler. Some folks don't care for them but I love mine. There is a bit of learning curve and the mouse buttons can be a bit squirlly. It has 16 keys, 4 modifyers, and a track point. You type by makeing cords. The track point moves the mouse and puts the 16 keys into mouse button mode(little squirlly).
There is gobs of information on this page. http://www.tifaq.com/keyboards.html
Personally I use a Twidder. I have used it for about a year now and still like it very much. There is a bit of learning curve and the mousing can be a little squirrly sometimes.
Sun guy once told me that thier servers would scale linerally. Every CPU you add will not add any over head. Needless to say we did not buy anything from these guys.
DePaul University is going to switch to Java as its primary programming language. I have to agree with the poster that this will be a dis-service to students. A good developer will know how to solve programming problems using several types of languages Java/OO is only one solution. There are times when C or some other non-OO solution is going to be needed.
I recently purchased a Twiddler 2.
Thier web sit is http://www.handykey.com I found it on the above mentions web site for rpi.
It is a one handed cording key board with an IBM trackpoint mouse on it.
It is programable, I have reprogramed my to optimize the alpha and numerics as the default settings were alphabetical and non-keypad respectively.
This version connects to any PS/2 keyboard or mouse port.
So far I have been very happy. I using a lot with my laptop and my computer at work, both are NT. I have tried it with my HP 712 but that did not seem to work. The keyboard was recalled due to firmware bug and I have not tried it on the 712 again.
Be warned, there is a learning curve. The thing that is holding me back most is that I can type much faster on a standard keyboard, i think about words and sentances. When using the twiddler I am still thinking about letters, numbers, symbols. This should get better with time. I am at about 10 words a min now, which is real frustrating when I have deadlines.
My palm V when for a swim and its screen ceased to read the pen motions. I sent it to 3com for $100 the sent me a new one. Easy, Some what cheep and I got two new styli with it.
I think there still is an lcd shortage and you might find it difficult to buy one from the mfg. Also how good are you a soldering?
Are you sure that it is only the screen that is borken. You may take it apart and find that the board is cracked and only fell apart after you opened it up.
Hey its $85 buck for a refubish one.
Ask anyone who archives material

Just because it is digital does not make it good.
Sgt. Jack R. Ramsay was ground up by Threashing Robot after it pulled a gun an shot him.
Can someone explain why I need to by a $300 radio to listen to something that is not perceptibly different?
At any rate it seems like another way to fleece the public.
Anyway analog broadcasting should be preserved as they are easy to implment and use in the event of an emergency.
You said to did a google search but did you talk the the obvious choice. Google.
They seems to have something of a specialty in archiving e-mail and search technology and usually have some kind of API.
Write a c program to calculate factorial of -1.
Runs for ever. Run one or add a thread for every cpu.
Most of this happens in registers leaving memory utilization alone.
I know it is not really a programming language but just about every kid knows what the web is these days.
Install a web server on you laptop and let them create a web page.
Have show them the raw html and let them make changes.
I have done this for almost for years now.
I set it for my personal use and then when my company need a solution we did this to.
Here is a how to
This is all well and good until some nasty alien/mutant bug or critter from out there takes hold and wipes us all out.
I still vote for expansion. Even if some get sick and die it is possible that some will survive.
I go by Steve
Most documents say Steve
My full name is Stephen J
My credit report has all valid and used forms of my name.
So far no problems.
Even the guys that have stolen my identity have not had problems.
I am willing to be that this is a common issue and most folks can handle it.
Try otto.
I have been using it for about 2 years now and it does exactly what you want.
It uses a mysql as a db and a modified shoutcast on the front. It also has a very nice web interface.
Didn't the bad dudes in Battle Field Earth have implants that caused them to be extra agressive and bad actors.
I have been using otto for a couple of weeks now and like it quite a bit.

Got to radio shack or best buy and get a sound feeder and 12 volt power supply.
A sound feeder allows you to broad cast low power FM. It is already approved by the fcc.
You could even create a network of station through out each dorm.
I just want to second this.
3Ware makes several raid cards, 2way, 4way, and 8way. I have installed two 2ways and 1 4way in the recent servers I have built.
They are very easy to configure and look just like scsi hard drives on linux. Yeah, I know this is a widows question.
The 4 and 8 way card are also on standard sized PCI cards, unlike ATI. Watch out for cards that require a server case becuase they are extra long.
They are also cheaper then most of other cards.
Look at sumtime for mac.
Although it may be only for mental health users.
My parents have been using this for a few years on OS 7 and OS 9.

Sort of like having beat cops and police call boxes throughout your network (or something).
Just to be a pain, this seems to be a good idea.
How do you tell a benvolent port scan from some script kiddy.
Beat cops usually wear a uniform and say hi before they strip search your car.
